The Knicks never stopped being the clowns of basketball. But nothing is gonna make new yorkers switch to the fucking Nets.
A back to back tonight, and they have issues playing against the Cavaliers...so I predict a loss.
Though I think the last time we played them, we won right? In any case, they're performing a lot better since the ASB, so I expect dat L.

Graveyard bump.
Hello, everyone. Melo has re-signed, may not have even taken the max. We got two solid draft picks (who could've seen that coming?). We got some radiation treatment performed along the way to rid us of a cancer, in exchange for something that is the opposite of a cancer. On top of that, we dealt away a big tree that started to rot in NY, what with all the pigeons and subway rats getting to him. We didn't really get a great tree to replace the miserable one, but I'm optimistic since the triangle doesn't necessitate it.
Moreover, Fisher said today Phil has been participating during practices, even coming on the court to help and show and that he's been active and instrumental as almost a sideline coach. That's pretty awesome, imo. He just can't stay away.

Those clowns are gonna clown shoe their way into the playoffs next season and fuck up our draft pick. After that? Years of playoff failure. The only question is how many draft picks we'll trade away trying to make Melo a champion.
Considering how absolutely awful the Nets are going to be this year, the Knicks have a lot less to worry about in the division. If Toronto maintains their last year playing wasn't a fluke, then they're the only team we need to worry about to make into the playoffs safely. Otherwise, when looking at the entire conference, it's still a weak conference and the Knicks made better moves during that off-season more so than any other team, save for the Cavaliers obviously.
I genuinely don't see the Bulls being any good this season with Gasol. I don't see him fitting into Thibs' system.

I don't see how he doesn't fit the system.. he is basically a better version of Boozer.. Both are big men with a bit of post game who have decent jumpers.. Boozer was fine in Chi town and Pau should be better.. Also Rose is coming back.. So I can't see how adding Pau and Rose makes them worse than last year..

Bulls get better by adding a big that can pass, and have the offense run through them. And tries harder on D. Their bigs rotation got a massive upgrade just in passing alone. Which on a bulls team that has had a lot of stagnant offense in the past...
Nets got worse as a whole on the roster. But they have Lopez coming back. If he's healthy, they should be a better team.
What'd NY do? Get rid of your only defensive minded big and the anchor of your defense. And picked up Jose? Jose is a good player in his role, but he's very limited TO his role. And he's no defensive stalwart either. Knicks should be better on offense by having a better point guard, but they got a lot worse defensively.
Noah and Pau are great passers.
But Boozer is a really underrated passer
He's ok, i guess. But the big difference is, you can run the offense through pau, i wouldn't do that for boozer.

Tyson was injured for half the season and was pretty bad for the other half, a Dalmbert and Alrdridge platoon wont be as big of a drop off as you think. Gimpy Felton was the worst defender/starter in the league last season. Calderon is a significant upgrade, especially at what they need him for (shooting passing). But the real reason the Knicks will be a better team (barring injures) is a healthy pseudo contract year JR Smith, seriously. Can't stand JR but he has been an effective regular season player for the Knicks. He's the reason they were good last year and the reason they almost made the playoffs at the end of this year. Indy, Chicago Cleveland and Miami will clearly be ahead of the Knicks, there's a good chance the Brooklyn, Washington and Toronto will be too but the Knicks will probably be a playoff team this year barring injuries and/or implosion.
I don't think that's a homer assessment because I really do hope they miss the playoffs but the bottom of the east is pretty bad, so bad that Melo a healthy JR and nonFelton are good enough to put the Knicks at the top of that group.

Neo-Pau is softer than melted butter today. That's why I don't see him fitting into Thibs' system. If PJ had to push him to tighten his pussy ass up 4 years ago, I can't even imagine the hairpulling TT will have with him.
Also, not sure why people are so hung up on us trading away Chandler. If anyone actually watched or paid attention to the entire Knick season last year, he was fucking shit. Amare was better than Chandler. And this is coming from someone who shitted on Amare every chance he could. Chandler was constantly hurt. Looked bored. Was out of position for rebounds and was a defensive non-presence for so many little guards who felt like a drive to the hoop was a stroll in the park. He missed easy shots, easy dunks, turned over the ball, and fumbled the easiest two-feet passes and oops known to man.
I don't see how NY did anything but stay in place. Shump and THJ developing would really help them sneak into the playoffs but it won't be because Toronto was a fluke last season. Toronto will take the division with minimal effort leaving NY and Brooklyn about neck and neck. I would give the advantage to whichever squad is healthier.
To be an 8 seed in the year where you have your own 1st for the first time in years sounds really unfortunate.

Don't forget that Charlotte will be better than NY....and then keep in mind the list we just made has 8 teams on it.
NY will be with Brooklyn/Detroit/Atlanta fighting for the 8th seed and I don't know who is gonna be ahead of the others this season. IF you're lucky they'll finish 10th and luck into the 1st overall.

I don't see the Nets making it into the playoffs this year, at all. I definitely don't see them being neck and neck. The Knicks had a shitty season filled with everything conceivable going wrong all at once coming off a fantastic previous season where they played with some pretty fantastic consistency because Woodson was actually giving a fuck and trying to not get fired after his first year.
NY will be at least a 5th seed in the East.

   this dude said atleast
so how do you see the east playing out 1-8?
1-3 Chicago/Cleveland/Indy
4-6 Toronto/Washington/Miami
7 Charlotte
8 Detroit/Atlanta/Nets/Knicks

Cleveland,Chcago,Indiana,Miami,Washington,Charlotte, Atlanta with Horford, Toronto are all easily better than the Knicks.

I actually meant to write "at best", to be honest. That was a typo. But to answer your question:
1: Cleveland
2: Indiana
3: Toronto
4: Chicago
5: Knicks
6: Washington
7: Miami
8: Charlotte
I'm even hesitant to think Chicago, Toronto and Washington will have the same kind of success as they did last year. Last year all three teams were pretty lousy for the first 30 games, sub-500 (especially Chicago) and had big turn-arounds (once again, especially Chicago). Chicago looked really dismal the first two months of the past year, but this year they'll have Niko to kick things off.
Really, I rarely make predictions. Especially prediction lists. The volatile nature of the NBA is extremely unpredictable to start guessing before the season even begins. But I don't believe the Knicks will be a sub-.550 team. Which would, at best, land them the 5th seed.
So Lance is about to sign with the Hornets. Ariza left the Wizards. That already changes up my entire prediction above considerably. Both Indiana and Washington will have become slightly worse, imo. Charlotte has improved, I doubt they'll be an 8th seed. They'll likely climb a bit higher, most likely 6th or so.
If I had to redo that list again...
1: Cleveland
2: Chicago
3: Toronto
4: Indiana
5: Knicks
6: Charlotte
7: Miami
8: Washington
1: Cleveland
2: Chicago
3: Toronto
4: Indiana
5: Knicks
6: Charlotte
7: Miami
8: Washington
Contract year Bargnani is gonna mirage his way into a 3 year curse extension. His voodoo is that strong.
With the acquisition of born ready I now think the Bobcats will probably finish ahead of the Knicks too bumping them out of the playoffs. This is wonderful news.
Their second best player is 33 year old Jose Calderon. They'll have to play Bargnani and Amare at center for significant stretches.
It's not going to go well if winning is the goal.

ehh idk from the way the roster is being developed I think they will be more likely a PF in the mold of Pau in the triangle. Right now the knicks have 3 Traditional centers signed and I like the odds of Tyler getting his option picked up as well.

in 2005 - 2006 the Knicks went 23-59 and were starting Edie Curry and were paying Allan 19 mil Starbury 16 mil Penny 15 mil and Antonio Davis 14 mil

Hey the knicks future is looking a lot brighter so we might as well not spend too much time reminiscing about the past. When no one is debating that it was shitty.
A lot of the past dysfunction was Dolan but it really seems Phil is control and he's only made good moves so far.
Our summer league team is looking phenomenal. It's a good sign of things to come, as that is effectively a huge chunk of our bench playing out there.

Breh, you need you fix your starters before you can talk bench. Outside of Anthony, your team is trash.
Whether or not they're going to be trash remains to be seen.
But no one is talking about starters. The matter of fact is right now our bench is looking pretty damn good comparatively to the other benches in the league.

Hey, I wish the SL was longer. But it's the only professional reference I have to base any assessment of these players at the moment and how some of them are handling their sophomore years, and how the rookies are handling playing with the 'pros'.
Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN about 6 minutes agoTim Hardaway Jr. has been selected to practice with the USA national team during their training camp in Las Vegas which begins July 28.
Timmy getting recognition for dominating Summer League.

And........ I'm not penciling him in for 20ppg during the regular season.
Summer League really doesn't translate at all. It's good to see if guys have added a new skill or something. Like added range to their jumper. But the actual %'s are bunk.
Ok, i am TOTALLY writing TJ down as a 12ppg guy off the bench. ROTY incoming.
So we picked up Jason Smith who's actually a pretty decent pick up for us, imo. Plays 26 mins, averages 10PPG. 6 boards. 80% FT shooter.
So we picked up Jason Smith who's actually a pretty decent pick up for us, imo. Plays 26 mins, averages 10PPG. 6 boards. 80% FT shooter. His rebounding number are bad for a center. Only reason he was signed is a) he's physical b) out of all the 7 ft. guys he's the only one who can hit a long jumpshot. He fits into the triangle like Bill Wennington used to.
