By Switchpro Go To PostIsn't it so that they couldn't have added anyone besides TT unless it's for the least amount possible. I remember it being him or nothing.Oddly enough the guys that got paid are represented by Klutch and Rich Paul tho
It's over
Durant replaced Barnes. They're not beating gsw 4x this year.
They basically have to hope Durant , curry, and a combination of dray/Klay have a bad game at the same time.
Bron can't guard Durant tbh. Never seen someone take him to the post like that

No one can guard Durant, especially when you can run devastating pick n rolls with Curry or Klay or Draymond.
Golden State's offense is Durant unleashed.

By domino Go To Postyou're crazy for thinking the cavs ever had a shot.Lebron is still better than Kobe
beat em doooooooooown /bomani

maybe Bron will win enough to actually reach everyone's inflated views of his greatness.
By domino Go To Postmaybe Bron will win enough to actually reach everyone's inflated views of his greatness.I feel the same about Kobe. It's a shame he didn't win much without another prime HoF player or multiple legit All-Stars on his team.
By Kibner Go To PostI feel the same about Kobe. It's a shame he didn't win much without another prime HoF player or multiple legit All-Stars on his team.Yeah, because LeBron totally won without legit All-Stars and HoF players.
For the record, as a Lakers fan, LeBron is better than Kobe... but that's a terrible argument.
LeBron got to the playoffs constantly and even the Finals when his wing man was Mo Williams and Boogie Gibson was the x-factor.
By Doomsayer Go To PostThat's Minnesota Timberwolves most points in a game record holder Mo Williams, thank you very much.Surpassed by Corey Brewer and his cherry picking ways, iirc. Or was it the other way around?
I think Brewer had 51 and Mo had 52. I think what's more shocking is that Prime KG never hit 50 points in a game.

you can do these things in the east.

that can't be your argument in lebrons favor lol

There's a reason Lebron has never left the east. I'm not on the Kobe is better than Lebron train either.
These playoff suck. If GS can re-up, the play offs look like they'll be shitty for another 3-4
By Doomsayer Go To PostI think Brewer had 51 and Mo had 52. I think what's more shocking is that Prime KG never hit 50 points in a game. That was never his game. I don't even remember him scoring that much (in so far as huge individual nights) until like 05-07 when the team around him got so much worse. He did have multiple 40+ point nights against Phoenix (although, back then, who didn't) late in his Wolves run.

His '99 season was insane, it seemed like he was a threat from everywhere. I remember him dropping 40+ a few times but I figured he had it in him to go for 50 as well, just never happened.

So he can maximize the amount of money he makes. Dude is in his 14th season and is in better condition than players in their 4th. He's gonna be playing til he's like 50

Dude looked a little gassed last night. I don't know if I was just pushing a narrative on myself or if the insane amount of deep playoff runs are starting to take their toll.
Lebron gassed because he has to do it all. As soon as he goes to the bench the Cavs forget how to play basketball

He's the only one who can even sort of guard Durant, and he's the only one who can create offense on the other end. Klay and Durant have Kyrie on clamps.
Simply put, the Cavs matchup horribly against the Warriors. Durant and Steph break all defensive reasoning.
By Kuma Go To PostLebron gassed because he has to do it all. As soon as he goes to the bench the Cavs forget how to play basketballBut Durant is the best player in the world.

Jon Berry is calling this an indictment on the Eastern Conference on the Dan Patrick Show. Psy gonna fire off some tweets.
What's going on with Tristan Thompson's disappearing act? I know he isn't really a threat offensively but his rebounding, particularly on the offensive side has been nullified. I don't see the Warriors doing anything special against him, how are they neutralizing him?

By reilo Go To PostHe's not playing against Al Horford anymore.Even last year though when he was going up against a better front court he was able to rebound well. Zaza is seriously garbage and he is somehow being more effective. It's odd.
By Doomsayer Go To PostEven last year though when he was going up against a better front court he was able to rebound well. Zaza is seriously garbage and he is somehow being more effective. It's odd.Zaza does a reasonable job blocking out and Durant is 7ft tall and often near the rim. Draymond is good at blocking out and rebounding, too.
I think it's the compounding effect of Durant being on the roster instead of Harrison Barnes. Barnes was always a poor rebounder for his size, and especially that he played a ton of minutes at PF both for GSW and DAL. People forget, but Durant averages 8RPG for his career and he had a career-high this season at 8.3. There's your difference.
Thompson is only effective at all in todays NBA because players don't know how to box out. I think Zaza does that.
You'd think after all of Lacob's talk he'd be prepared for this and the potential fan backlash. Also interesting how the new arena plays into their thinking.
Does money paid into the luxury tax affect the next season's salary cap? I don't know if it does, but if GSW tries to keep this team together, I'm sure we will quickly find out. lol

I'ts been rumored KD is willing to take a pay cut to keep the team as intact as possible. Normally I would ignore this as typical off season conjecture, but the players on the team have a history of doing this. Curious how much of a "cut" he's willing to take.

I think the Ws pay the tax next two years and then face a really hard decision about Klay and dray as they will be coming up to their contracts ending. If they max both, they will pay 250m plus per year in taxes alone. That is fuckin nuts
By reilo Go To PostEveryones "banged up".
how? I feel for the dude but geez, he just can't stay healthy.
But this has always been a risk with kyrie. Dudes knee's are glass.
By reilo Go To PostBut they won with the same squad last season. In fact, their bench is better this year.
KD wasn't around last year. You can take a break from defending Barnes. Also that Bogut injury was major factor last year. Zaza being serviceable is a huge plus for GSW

Curry not at 70% this year
No massive injury issues to key personnel
Draymond in Suspension Hell
I keep saying it... for Cleveland to stay competitive LeBron/Love/Kyrie must have games like they did vs. the Celtics (no dropoff of efficiency) and of Steph/Klay/Durant, one must play drunk and another play kinda average; oh yeah, Draymond Green has to be a minimal factor. The game was close for 2.5 quarters because Steph DID play drunk then, and Dray was in foul trouble. Then Klay woke up and then Steph/Durant went nuts.
EDIT: Another issue that's killing the Cavs is the disappearance of Tristan Thompson. He is their best PnR defending big but he's been put in the spin cycle by healthy Steph, and getting outplayed by Javale McGee. If he's not out there that puts Love at the 5, and Love seems... disinterested about defense.
