Eh, you're still missing my broader point. Why doesn't education get money? Students can't vote. Adults will sell their (children) interests short, hell they sell their own interests short all the fucking time, even ones with children. Having children of their own still doesn't even preclude doing the right thing. A group has to be heard and politically viable to get what they need. That's why the Parkland teens going off is so important. Can you honestly tell me that the power of voting hasn't on some level forced the hand of politicians in terms of agendas? If you were to go by age demographics the fact that old people vote is what has kept politicians mitts off nuking Social Security entirely, altho they love to steal from it on the low. You cannot minimize the impact of the pressure of that particular voting bloc. If anything y'all are making the specious arguments here. Age of consent is NOT an argument FOR voting. Just like age of consent is a terrible argument for when people should go to adult jail over juvenile jail.
The age of 18 is largely arbitrary as it is. But it's the line that is mainly drawn around everything in society in (most places anyway) it's the age you can drink. You should be able to drive. You go to adult jail. You've started on your post nurture life (left highschool, had to start making choices about the rest of your life).
It's great that kids under that age are getting political. They should. But also think back to how many of them were only too happy to call everyone a faggot nigger. Because they hadn't hit society or even had to leave their nurture bubble where that shit STICKS and there's consequences.
Them being right / agreeing with one issue of importance isn't the reason to give them carte blanche going forward.
