Why does seeing some grizzley shit change your views on mortality? I ask this seriously. I think I get stoned and ponder the meaning of life and death, religion and that kinda shit constantly. I don't think the concept of death bothers m, so much as I just don't look forward to it. So I naturally just think "meh I got at least another 30 years in me" lol

I mean I still see some shit sometimes but when you're 16 and have already seen a couple of teens with their brains blown out nothing really bothers you anymore
I haven't seen anyone die in front of me, but I went to so many damn funerals growing up, including my dad's, that I'm kind of desensitized to the idea of death. Now, wondering whether I will burn in hell for eternity after I die is the thing that gets me.

Isn't there some discussion among current theologians regarding the actual existence of hell? Does this topic enter catholic debate at all? I would assume not since Catholics also add purgatory to the mix.
