Schedules and such are typically used as fall backs or excuses. "Ohhh we can only give you this because it's not something we're able to do policy wise". They said this to my wife until she threatened to leave if she didn't get a raise. They then gave her a 20% increase. Just sayin' man. I remember your comment about your wife's raise comparatively, and you seem to be the model honest employee, especially with your misplaced FLMA hate lol
By flinbad the flailer Go To PostYour professor might be exceptional, but beginning such a course with the Manifesto and Lenin isn't. Depending on the topic and time period studied, it might even be academically dubious not to. It's Asia, where vast swathes were ruled by self-described Marxists (the former Soviet republics, mainland China, Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, etc) or influenced or otherwise affected by international communism/socialism (Taiwan, India, South Korea, Nepal - really, the entire continent).
Only if you think it's dubious to teach a course on modern Europe without spending 30% of it reading Marinetti and Mein Kampf. This is totally about his particular critical methodology.

This is totally about his particular critical methodology."Depending on the topic and time period studied" was an intentional and important qualifying clause I included for a reason. Endless syllabi could be generated from the description you provided: "Asia."
It's also very common for a professor to spend a substantial chunk of a course detailing their methodology and possibly alternative methodologies (in fact, many courses are just that, with several applications and examples along the way). There's a reason you have an actual human being with a particular perspective, expertise, and capability teaching your course, after all. That you disagree with him seems to be the problem more than anything.

We have two scheduling fallbacks: seniority and "business needs." I don't have problems on my team with call-offs (FMLA is included in the truancy count) because they self-regulate, but other people do with theirs. i get hit with the collateral.
Let me put it like this. One manager turned down a Complex Director job in Wisconsin because he felt lowballed. I didn't know that there was a such thing as Duch stereotypes for being cheap, but wow.
I'm amused that my wife will outscale me in a few short years.

You put Lil B in a studio and have him edit and cut down his fire to just a 9-10 track album or EP, he will run all these new cats out of the game. Lil B got some fire shit.
Lil B one of the best in the game, but you all don't know it and underrate him.
The whole mumble rap shit, dudes like Yachty and Uzi owe they careers to Gucci Mane.

Lil B is what he is a niche rapper that flipped a one hit wonder with the Pack into a decent underground, independent career. But he isn't even the best rapper from the Bay.
Gucci I fucks with but he was robbing rappers for years ask Jeezy and Wacka. Doubt anyone feels they shit to Gucci lol Besides southern mumble rap is new and dudes like Migos and Future made it a real money maker

Again, they both suck. One's racist. The other's a con artist. There is no defending anyone here.
And have you seen the evidence of the emails? How do 31,000 emails just go missing before an investigation? Emails that cost dozens of human lives in what is possibly one of the biggest military screw ups in this country's history?
Fishy much?
And then,
This thread is exactly the issue I had outlined in one of my previous posts. We talk about Trump this, Hillary that, race here, there.
I'm more interested in discussing how we can help out PR through a national crisis than to debate back and forth between political parties. There's a time and place for these discussions, but now is the time to put away emotions and help those who are in a time of crisis. Let's stop being selfish and open up hearts to prayer and servitude during these tumultuous times in our planet.

I've been trying to knock out at least 2-5 pages of screenplay a day. Today I woke up at 6am and finished two pages by noon. I think that might be my regular schedule from now on. Gives me the rest of the day to practice other stuff

Then they stick them in a drawer to maybe be used at a later date, either as a supplement to something they are working on or as something to build around as the main theme.

Even my brother's non professional metal band did this. They recorded shit together and individually at times to listen and collaborate on at later dates. The end result was sometimes a mish mash of ideas and not the result of one consistent thought.

As an introvert, I have come to realize that the hard part about building relationships is getting past the "why should I care about you except that Jesus told me to" phase. At the same time, it has been easier lately as I go to a church that champions itself as "multigenerational and multiethnic."
Would have never agreed to go to lunch with a random white couple but they were not so random. They were actually the parents of the pastor's wife. They're white, he's black. So I have the "advantage" that they actually care that we are also black. That makes it easier to talk about things like not wanting to integrate a church (this one always a crowd to laugh because they "get it") or having our kids go to a school that is 60/40 brown to white when I grew up and schools were 98% one or the other.
Besides a knowledge that the Empire actively hates me and mine, It's nice knowing that we actually have much in common. Pastor's father-in-law was a teacher. His wife was a stay-at-home mother like my wife was before the kids went to school. Hell, we even met a random old white lady whose people are from Tuskegee. I don't even know what kind of questions to ask her yet that won't be awkward, but I have a week to figure it out.
I've only been at this church since Feb, and I'm already co-leading a small group and on the pastor's board. We'll see where all of this goes.

Just remember that Obama's an introvert, it shouldn't stop anyone from going out and building something or getting to know people. In fact, an awful lot of historically effective leaders and public speakers were introverts like Hitler, so remember that when building your woke megachurch empire.

Based on little exposure, Jimmy Kimmel seems like a very genuine guy, in stark contrast to Fallon

I didn't actually intend for it to come across as a shot. You never know when it's useful to know someone who runs a megachurch.

My grandma sends me completely random text messages with corny jokes. She's been telling them to me ever since I can remember. This morning:
Q: Why did the ghost go into the bar?
A: Because of the boos
Q: Why don't the animals play poker in the jungle
A: Because oft he cheetahs.

This is interesting because she has to be getting these somewhere, and I have no clue where. She's like almost 91 years old.

Part of me laughs at the jokes, partly at the randomness of the texts, and partly that my 91 year old grammy is texting.
Here's another good one I still remember and tell occasionally:
A rope walks into a bar and asked the bartender for a drink. The bartender says "we don't serve your kind here". So the rope walks away and into the bathroom. Determined not to give up he ties himself into a knot and frays the ends. He walks out and asks the bartender for a drink again. The bartender says "weren't you just in here?" The rope replies, "Nope I'm afraid not" . ba dum bum ching

No idea, i think their coffee is pretty average, so if you've got a local joint that sells good coffee you go to, I wouldn't stop going to them.
