I hope beyond hope but it wont happen that D3 just has like a way to get a particular piece of armor you need rather than just farming shit hoping it will drop. Even a tedious quest line/requirements for it would be superior to watching the game just refuse to give you something to complete your set.
tier 2 reckoning is some of the dumbest shit i've ever seen
i've never seen so many artificial difficulty strats in play at the same time
start off with a timer. but not just a regular counter at work, you have to kill enemies at certain rate or it doesn't count
a designed player funnel to the front of the bridge. wouldn't be so bad if it didn't give enemies free snipes at your ass the whole time
no cover. at all. fun
back to standing on plates and lining up your buff/obstacle abilities with the bridge transition
ammo crunch comes into play again - elites wouldn't be so bad if they didn't throw you off the bridge or spam aoe on a tight open zone
shielded snipers spawning far off the right/left ledges because why not
stupid buff mechanic at the end with classic division damage phase at the end
congratulations bungie. you've made FPS rainbow road (or any encounter in division 1 that doesn't let you use cover)
this is what you're stuck doing when your enemies have literally nothing new to offer and you refuse to make something better than ice hive or zombie fallen...

yeah a bunch of us underleveled bois made it to the final boss of tier 2 but just didnt have enough
its probably kinda breezy when decently leveled though, we'll see next week
just finished two comp games using getaway artist new exotic gloves on my warlock...str8 cheese. Proc before a mid /close range fight and have your turret rocking them, even able to third person it around corners to get first shot lead in. With chaos reach I was getting my grenade back often enough to have my turret up for pretty much every important encounter lul
edit: there's a hidden perk apparently where arc soul damage improves grenade regen? explains things :)

I hate the timer mechanic for the reckoning, its really killing the mode for me.
After 6 years this game still does not have a true horde mode that isn't gated by a timer mechanic

The economy around leveling stuff is really ass. I wanna have a pvp and pve set and its like no choose. =/. And that's not even getting into Masterworking.
Not to mention wishing to prioritize certain armor attributes. Want to be very resilient? Well, that's cool, but you can't use your favorite Exotic Helmet anymore that's got a killer PVP perk, go with this boring ass legendary that does nothing.
The fact that you can't pay something to reroll anything too. If they don't match the weaponry you enjoy lol.
Rerolling would not be good for the game.
But I agree there is a massive need for sets across armours and perks And weapons

There's different ways to make it work. If you're gonna make me grind and farm for stuff, let me farm for specific gear attributes rather than a hopefully-maybe-sorta-kinda-yea-I-guess-this-will-do piece of gear.
Hell, even a plain ass materia system would be an improvement. Or trinkets and whatnot.
Hell, even a plain ass materia system would be an improvement. Or trinkets and whatnot.
There's enough gear where you'd have to farm the stuff you want aesthetically. Not to mention you still have to farm for upgrades to infuse into things. Not good for the game is funny, I'm about to drop off again because I already play a ton and yet I still haven't MWed or modded tons of legendaries because it takes too much shit. And it's stuff I've had for seasons now.
naw they had a bunch of reroll periods during the dlc. wolves re-roll period is exactly what's got everyone so paranoid
yeah, that pulse rifle in particular dominated pvp like nothing else, but the bad feelings from all that came from the vast majority of perks in D1 being trash. one good perk was nice and two complimentary perks was unbelievable. in pvp (when people still cared about it) it was the best answer for anything.
now? people wouldn't waste time doing these trash ass encounters if they could just reroll. the haves would be mad at the havenots again
i dont understand why armor rerolling is even an issue anyways. none of the perks on armor are that impactful and the ones that are typically lean towards the PVE side of things...

I'm away currently away but my quick two cents,
rerolling has been done before in D1 with glass needles. Wasn't great, in many was trivialised the random rolls we took for granted back then.
Transmog is the way forward.

The mod concept is totally fine they just... fucking hate you having mods on your gear. It's impossible to farm.
I've started about 3 forges now in a row where I get no one and the thing starts anyway and I still get no one joined up. How does basic shit like this even get passed QA. I know it's a result of people leaving as it auto joins them in queue but maybe just dont?
I love how Destiny plays but the last couple days some shit has really just been too frustrating.
- infusion being very steep, better just play with any old shit and infuse at the end except wait you don't want to be that asshole who can't contribute to pve endeavors without leveled exotics and don't even get me started on actually Masterworking some shit
- the only way to get mods back and put them into better gear is to dismantle the gear entirely, mods are also bullshit expensive
- giving out the same fucking gear over again after you're already on a limited supply of a resources (for instance motes for Reckoning) and that old "RNG" preventing you from getting something from completing your gear set
- late joins to gambit/crucible/reckoning or not getting team mates for forge/reckoning
- the game not providing some feedback at the end of certain things (looking at you Reckoning) on how people are actually doing so they can improve
- stomp mechanics
- making jumping important and then punishing you for one of the few ways to disengage enemies by making you super vulnerable while doing so
This isn't even getting into lore or the tedious nature of quest lines. Also how at the end it's suddenly "you need a fireteam? oh don't have one, then fuck yourself."

I couldn't give half a fuck about bounties now and I never cared for Gambit much and I care even less (if that's somehow possible) about a bounty that has regressive elements. (Looking at a Gambit Prime Weekly bounty where you need points but Ls is -2 points. lol. ) I just wanted to talk shit about it because the nerve.
I see you guys have a bit of hate for some of the things of the game. As someone who tunes in to play every now and again, I haven't come across too many issues. However, I recently came across this article that hyped the game up for 2019. I was just curious on what you guys think, is there any truth to the things mentioned there? here is the article: https://www.eneba.com/blog/why-destiny-2-should-be-on-your-radar-in-2019/
Destiny has always been a messy and frustrating masterpiece.
With Forsaken, its begun maturing in important and exciting ways.
The article is bang on, the franchise brings so much to the table and has done so by pioneering the looter shooter genre.
Destiny in its current state for all its flaws (why no matchmaking for nightfalls!?) is the best state the franchise has ever been in.
So yeah, the article is bang on. In the looter shooter space, it has no equal.

Here's the most lol part of Destiny 2. Despite my efforts 4 Ls in a row, we'll see how many I can get I'm still playing. The 4th? A join in progress to a mercy rule that went into effect right as I landed. lol.
My biggest gripe with Destiny right now is it's just absolutely brutal as a solo player in a way D1 never was. In D1 all you needed was a solid and consistent grip of friends for the raid and maybe sweaty IB but even that wasn't that bad. You need a group like that in D2 for fucking everything otherwise you're gonna be bashing your head against a wall.

its probably why i checked out so soon
holy crap forgot about the friend content but still not at tower yet lol. RAU we gotta get on later for the Gambit bounty.

Grouping up for certain stuff is waaaay too leaned on. This isn't an mmo. at least that's what they told us.

the problem with matchmaking is that a lot of guys are just underleveled for the content
a robust group search option would help---even getting 4 randos that are the right power level drastically increases the chances of completing content. I can tell how something is going to go with randos in matchmaking based on PL alone really.
But yea, the issue is a LOT of things require competency. I JUST noticed that one of the bounties I had for gambit prime was to get like 12 or 15 points--3 points for a win... NEGATIVE 2 points for a loss. Now luckily I was able to solo that on my own, but cringed at just how bad that could have gone really. And there's a lot of shit like that. Epic wastes of time without the right players.

FF XIV has relatively complex boss mechanics that require competency (or the group wipes), but the game trains you on how to recognize and handle them slowly as you go through the content leading up to those complicated bosses. As a result, new fights are relatively easy to learn as they use similar mechanics to what you have already done, even if there is a twist this time. And even bad players are pretty decent at executing them due to necessity and repetition.
Destiny doesn't train players in quite the same way and allows for gear power levels in matchmaking that can make missions needlessly difficult to complete while learning.

A nice start would not be getting level 5s in crucible but there are those damn quests for lowbies to go try it out. Also the MM expects you to carry if you're a certain caliber player but in destiny 2 its nigh impossible due to several things one of the biggest being how invulnerable most supers are. All you can do is run or die.
An in-depth LFG system would be a good antidote. The Destiny app does this already.
New players should be allowed in crucible, just not in the comp playlist, nothing breaks my soul like being paired with a lvl8 in farm rags in comp on my chase for glory 2100.
Re:supers, yeah, spec blades needs retuning, but to Bungie that means killing it, see warplocks.

Used to be a monster in PvE too.
Really pleased with the cadence of content drops, better than the one and done half baked campaigns with recycled strikes.
Season of Opulence will VV's swansong and it will be lit.

One of the nice things about D1 was you could have a chance taking out supers better instead of dying to 3 different ones every time you're up. And don't get me started on dying to the same super you already did on spawn.
By The Frankman Go To PostHere's a crazy theory: Why not tier PvP into levels? 600+ only, 500-599, 300-499, below 300.because pvp matchmaking is already over taxed by weird priorities
its 'supposed' to be already be doing that
By DY_nasty Go To Postbecause pvp matchmaking is already over taxed by weird prioritiesIt's massively failing then. I mean gameplay talent is supposed to be what matters but... I would love to know what those weird priorities are.

PVP on PC is already dead enough without that. Plus it's less gear and more so basic understanding of Destiny, gear, maps, etc. It should prioritize putting me up against people as good as me but my team is as well. I often feel like I'm babysitting still. Sometimes I do get a good team of me (or better) but then we're also shitting the other team. Competitive games are so rare. The other night and it wasn't even Iron Banner I got into a chain or mercy rules by my team or against my team. It was pretty dumb.

Also whose bright idea was it to change basic Gambit from best 2 of 3 to the third match being an auto-summon of the Primeval and first to kill wins? That's just mind boggingly dumb and taking out the strategy of mote denial/interruption, especially when you factor in those are guys who are great at killing players who for some reason cannot collect motes if their life depended on it...
