It's still stupid since a lot of people just wanna play Destiny when they have time in spurts and when they're isn't other shit they wanna play in some weeks.
I got into some Reckoning already but I hate that it's gatekept and you gotta farm shit to do it. They keep taking good things and then creating all these requirements or you gotta do this other tedious shit to play the fun. The GAME itself should be fun not work to do fun. Fuck Bungie get a clue.

These enemies just stopped being fun to shoot. PVP isn't worth participating in. And even the story has gone to shit.
The perks on the gear for Season of the Gambit and the gear itself just isn't worth getting, man. Who the fuck wants to grind Gambit for a month for that shit? It's not exciting. Do something new, Bungie. It's been fucking six years.
I'm not anti destiny, I'd only get up for a new faction or additional subclasses. This isn't content
The good news is you can stay in the queue for Reckoning and still get random drops and you rank up your Gambit so you don't even need to play a bunch of Gambit.

Its just not, if you're looking for massive overhauls, then I wouldn't even look at the September release, I'd be looking at destiny 3 or destiny infinity or whatever they decide to call it.
The annual pass is for people who enjoy the end game grind. If that's not you, that's cool, but they're not going to introduce a new class or new enemies in a content that's not even Osiris size.
Look at the format and the cadence, and price and set your expectations accordingly. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for dissapointment.
As for the story going to shit? Yikes, far from it, that's one aspect they've stepped up considerably, especially in the lore. The recent tabs that just came out, we are currently under investigation for the death of Cayde by a warlock order known as the Praxic Fire. On top of that there is a ton happening.
Now for my compliants, the PVP is a fucking mess, we need more and better options, where the fuck is rift?

It's wide open, visually interesting, a nice amount of cover options with nice amounts of GAPS in cover, very few long corridors without breathing room, multi-leveled with a ton of height variability--if this was the typical Destiny mp map it'd be a much much better PVP experience
