By Hitch Go To PostMan, its hard knowing when to trigger Bladedancer in the Crucible. Especially on the larger maps.
whenever you can flank and get a clear line to more than one enemy without taking more than a couple of shots
so basically never against good people
class is doo doo butter
one thing bungie forgot or didn't realize is the only thing that should cancel out supers is either a really strong play (snipe headshot) or another super
It's why I loved trials so much--because the supers went from being chaotic to chess games. Where its like yeah...I could absolutely destroy the entire team with my blade dancer, except I know that titan has a pocket fist of havoc on deck for when I do. Or I could go sith lord with my stormcaller except that nightstalker has his super waiting for me.
with the vulnerability of supers now its just like...eh

I think the core of the game doesn't lend itself to solid intentional flanking unfortunately, based on the maps and modes I've played so far anyway (aside from the bomb planting one)
Whenever I try splitting from my teammates to get up behind the other team, I feel like I'm just wandering into the other team's respawn zone and getting shot in the back. Unless they're outflanking the flanker ¬¬
Looking forward to properly getting going with the campaign and side-activities, all I've done is the first few missions before multiplayer opens up, and 4 crucible matches for the milsestones.
Can weapon mods be detatched from the weapons they come with? Got a submachine gun with an energy damage mod, but would rather out that on a different weapon.

Flanking isn't a good tactic in Destiny because how often and quick respawns happen.
Plus, radar lol.
Plus, radar lol.
What makes you appear on the radar?
Gunfire obviously, but does sprinting/jumping do it as well?
Gonna watch a video to figure out how the bomb mode works, had a couple of surprise defeats.

Edit: to clarify
An enemy will be constantly on your radar if they are:
Walking
Running
Shooting (except while crouching)
Jumping
Throwing a grenade
Activating a Super
That was in D1, not sure what it is exactly in D2. But no, not a joke. That's definitely the case in D1 --- and even Halo iirc.
By reilo Go To PostFlanking isn't a good tactic in Destiny because how often and quick respawns happen.I find flanking from the side just after your frontline engages is a good way to confuse/panic enemies. Can't be done too often since there aren't many locations that maker it feasible and the aforementioned radar, but it has its place.
Plus, radar lol.
E: and the side doesn't really meanght next to the side of the enemies. More of just attacking from multiple angles thing.
Movement radar is one of the dumbest game mechanics out there
Shooting--fine, movement? Its one of the worst parts about Destiny.

Pulse Rifles feel so good
And these side "Adventures" are on the planets are actually kind of long. I enjoyed Titan.

Wait, what the fuck? Come theeeee fuck on Activision:
Moving on from shaders, Destiny 2's in-game shop has come under fire for offering gameplay-affecting mods.Goddammit, NO.
These mods, which can be applied to armour and weapons, boost your character in some way. Take the Impact Absorption Mod, for example. This increases the resilience of the armour it's applied to, allowing you to absorb more damage. Another mod makes class abilities charge faster. You can see why you'd want mods.
slow down cowboy, its not nearly as extreme as it sounds. You can get that stuff from vendors anywhere. Its no bigger shortcut than the previous eververse shop where you could buy engrams more or less.
That kind of thing is only a big deal if it's the ONLY way to get it. Its not.

The Eurogamer article didn't mention this until after that paragraph, should've lead with it:
(You can't buy silver until you hit level 20 with a character, which means most players will have finished the campaign before they spend real-world money on Destiny 2.) You also get a Bright Engram every time you level up after you've hit the soft level cap of 20.So yea, not as bad.
There is also a rested thing each week where you gain three times as much xp for your first three levels that week. Helps casuals get more bright engrams.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWooo those clicks thoI think it'll be fine because like you said they'll eventually drop the bullshit, but shaders dropping in a pack of 3 is blatant lol
(Shaders are the real crime)
yeah the armor/resiliance stuff is easily maxed without pay to win methods
if they really want money they should sell trials mercy's that stack for 5 bucks a piece

By Smokey Go To PostAre Adventures now "patrols" or are they two separate things? From what I played they're far more involved than patrols
The ones I did on earth were kinda like sidemissions that provide context and buildup to the main mission
Already feeling like the progression is fucked in the campaign, feel way overpowered
So patrols still exist in the way they did in destiny? Like if you're just out in EDZ for example, you'll run into them?
I'm not sure, don't think I've completely opened that stuff up yet, and don't intend to patrol until its required for something
By Smokey Go To PostAre Adventures now "patrols" or are they two separate things?Adventures are basically side-story missions. They aren't repeatable (to the best of my knowledge).
Patrols unlock at level 20 and after doing a particular quest for Cayde-6. I think they work the same as the previous game.
One thing I found after beating the story is those missions called Meditations are what let you replay story missions.

Makes sense. Thanks.

The more I read the more it seems that people new to the franchise are likely to get more overall out of the game (given that a lot of stuff has been reused). Although, it did always seem like it would pan out that way. Destiny 2: Destiny 1 Director's Cut

Also much better version of the game and can turn off all that post processing bollocks which is 🔑
By Laboured Go To PostLovely that you can turn off CA. Godsend. Don't mind the film grain personally. Options!
The only thing I'm not happy about is the controller auto aim. It was op in Titanfall 2 but this is even worse.
By DY_nasty Go To PostPvP is… hilarious at the moment.
Eat hardy, friends.
details details
i dont really plan on playing it until I at least get a full set of legendaries

breh, people can't even shoot in straight lines yet. stop being a whore. i ran through two lobbies with skraight unleveled garbage.
i don't think the majority of the population can even reel in their pulse rifles. mid-range and out is absolutely free. up close? rush with a handcannon/sidearm while stealing heavy and you won't be stopped for at least another two weeks at this rate
people always banked on abilities to save them in destiny. i'm smacking people out of supers with smgs then teamwiping with my own because they don't understand the weaknesses of the radar and basic spawn weight
Yeah,PVP is for the sweats now, roll in with m8s you will win more times than not.
The focus on gunplay and skill and the nerfing of abilities and nades means you must roll 4 deep

i think everyone sucks right now
there was never a point in destiny 1 where you could roll into pvp and eat casually. the matchmaking is a factor, but guys either got too used to leaning on abilities or they're not willing to accept that abilities played right will still mop up.

Been eating in PvP. Feels good. Cut out all the extra nonsense from the first game where it was like you were playing against a group of Avengers with supers everywhere.
I may be wrong but I thought weapon level didn't matter in PvP?

stay and raid with us
full slaent raid
then we can all learn to truly hate each other
I'm going to stick around. I had already written off D1 before getting to the point that I'm at now (time wise). It's just a much better and tighter package than I was expecting based off console beta and the planted thoughts I had about D1. I've never raided or done most of the events in Destiny due to the above either.
level doesn't matter, but level implies what abilities/gear you have access to generally.
at least not yet
phaze trippin. he remembers when you couldn't even boot up crucible without an exotic handcannon and shotgun with shotpackage/rangefinder combo
talking about he needs all legendaries to play week 1 pvp. call him out for being shook.
u shook, phaze.
By Kibner Go To PostIt doesn't but legendaries and exotics have more mods and stats and abilities and shit than blues, greens, and whites.the perks are important, but they aren't near as world splitting or essential for participation as they were in D1.

You have to do at least four matches of PvP to unlock everything related to it, anyway. Maybe more, depending on if completing this milestone for it does anything.
I did both Crucible milestones. I think Shaxx gives you an engram after the first. Then there is a second milestone, Shaxx's Call to Arms, where you get the Gold Trophy for completion.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Posti haven't even beaten the campaign or have a fully completed class yet lol
