By Random Ass Username Go To PostSupers aren't that important given how quickly a good team retains distance and just ends them with a heavy, coordinated fire or their own super. Supers are way more important for scoring in pve. Pvp meh.Yeah. If supers were that big of a game changer then the game would be about turtling instead of heavy control at all costs.

I like him, but he's the perfect example of streamers not knowing what he wants and crying to devs about it. Guys like him were pining for more primary weapon gun fights. Now that he's getting smashed on between cooldowns and his aim is getting exposed shit is different.
I'd trust Watts over the vast majority of these guys tbh...
I mean, what do you think tho? How many times are you really running off huge streaks with a super per game? Just get heavy and shoot your Colony blindly into the sky 😂
Also, it's really important to add in the fact these guys are not only really, really fucking good and racking up kills at a much higher pace than most - but they're almost always rolling deep with people just as good if not better. The super trains they run off are like Pacers highlights. Shit is all good til they get stomped or meet an equally good team. Then all of a suddenly they gotta swap loadouts. (Fun fact, loadout locking is because of exactly that lol)
Streamers need clicks and even to make some shit up to seem more relevant. Most people should be using supers as counters or ways to clear people off say control points and worry less about maxing it out. /shrug

Contrarian? Most people can't play like streamers so their advice is just not that applicable. Gimme someone who's pretty good and not insane and they'll probably have way different strats. When you're that good and running around with pubstomp pals "most of us use the same shit" there's two types of dudes, there's folks who will use something else to stand out or because they're bored. Guys would have you believing MIDA is irrelevant and useless these days. That and a shotgun is all anyone needs in PVP to be as top tier pro as they can be with just about any class. The new stuff is fun but it should never beat out practicalities unless it either brings a new dimension to the common encounter or something fits certain playstyles in a great way.
Builds fit you, not the other way around.
Builds are awesome but people skip the basics and end up screwing themselves long term. All you gotta do is stop holding forward on the stick, own your corners, and preshoot at head level to be a top 40% player. What you do outside of that without clinging to your gear's perk list is what defines your strengths as a player. That's where builds come in. c'mon man, a team with full heavy is SMASHING a team will full supers free… you can run from every super until it runs out and they all come with huge tells. Most heavys kill you before you even turn to react. Hell, you don't even need to be around people most of the time lol. What's damage reduction to indirect fire?🤔🤔

Serious talk killed people mid super, shooting at me with heavy? Nope. Not even when I landed every shot, simply not quick enough versus grenade launchers. And don't even get me started on the shit where they don't even need to aim in my actual direction or shoot blindly around some corner because the map is that damn tight in spots.

Effective October 16, the purchase of Destiny 2: Forsaken will include the two expansions included in the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass. Every player of Destiny 2 who has yet to touch down on the Tangled Shore will need only the Forsaken upgrade. Our hope is that this will eliminate some of the questions that confront a player as they try to join our party.
So looks like there’s going to be Sherpa last wish raids next week. I volunteered to help so Phaze and LFK come join if you guys want to get some last wish done and hopefullly Riven.

Yes. Come on, DY walked into kindergarten telling the other kids that Captain Hook was misunderstood. I mean it's fine and valuable having different opinions if that comes out of your experience, I'm not knocking it. But some of the stuff you guys are preaching as accepted gospel seems to be a little off the mainstream.

I've used the same argument here that people too high up the food chain have a harder time relating to the needs of people lower down. But most of these guys are peppered with noob questions all day on twitter. So unless they're True Vanguard telling me that the key to happiness in life is floating in place in midair with a fusion rifle, I think guys like Aztecross probably have a decent idea of where people are at and what they need to know. Just as long as people know that their videos are carefully selected clips & matches, and you can look at their actual run of matches on a tracker site & see they put up a .83 the very next game, and that in reality most of them seem to be around or just below a 2.0 K:D.

LFK look at your boy
1) Hey, Mtash isn't actually on my boy list.
2) I don't quite get it. He seems to be making my exact point. At the 4 minute mark he flat out says primaries aren't that strong, and that there aren't a lot of situations where you can shoot someone out of their super, even with team shooting. ~5:40 he's talking about how he feels like he's dead if he doesn't land all headshots with his primaries all the time, and they feel like nothing against supers. That it's frustrating how he dies over & over to them.
Let's look at someone who is actually on my list, despite the fact that he says silliness from time to time:
Ok. Let's look at some of the things you guys have been arguing as givens:
Mobility doesn't matter - notice that this guy going full meta (except for his nonsense armour set) is soloing whole squads running a 6/3/3. This is consistent with all these guys. That movement's making a massive difference for him, and the advantage of being able to outmaneuver & get good angles on people is not something restricted to streamgods.
Supers aren't important - notice how his build is centred around abusing the hell out of Shards of Galanor, he's got blade barrage like every 45 seconds. It accounts for way more of his kills than those YOLO grenade launcher shots. And that's with him stealing heavy from his teammates literally every single time. In a normal match the super/heavy divide in anyone's score is going to be bigger.
Hunter life = struggle life - notice how every single one of these guys is running hunter in all of these videos. And pretty much universally blade barrage. That's easily the top tier class right now and the comments are full of people LOLing at him for knocking Nova Warp while he's running the #1 un-dodgeable spaz super in the game. And aside from a couple of diehard warlock mains (which he used to be) it feels like hardcore sweaty dudes have been running hunter when the chips are on the table since D1.
None of this is me saying heavy or primaries don't matter, or that this dude is in any way normal. 99.999% of people are never going to replicate his insane Luna pushes with a sliver of health every time. But I feel like extrapolated out to your average person doing okay in a match in that 18-22 kill range, it's really unavoidable that a huge chunk of that - maybe even nearly half - is going to come off supers.
It's not that I don't think you have any points - like yeah, in comp it often boils down to a turf war over heavy, and if you're not great at movement & map flow maybe a tanky resilience build is where you need to be until you can use the mobility effectively anyway. It's just that I see constant evidence that it's not where the game is really at for most people right now.
Aside from all that, I landed a good roll on a Tigerspite (high cal, kill clip, dynamic sway) and I see why everyone's talking it up all the time. I don't know how much of it is the sway reduction but it fires like a dream. And while it's a PvE weapon it's not even bad on close-quarters Crucible maps; the high cal flinches faces sufficiently to stay alive long enough to get all the necessary shots in. I'm kind of wondering whether I should masterwork it, or hold out for a rampage drop.

"Primaries aren't that strong"
Yo wut. Team shooting death ball meta shredded pvp for months lol. Arguing extremes over the trials and tribulations of not being able to shred people on PC the way you did on console is simply trifling.
And heavy hording isn't a basis for comp, it applies to every game mode. Im trying to understand why you'd ever place a blade barrage over wardcliffe. Heavy ammo is always more abundant than super usage. This is math at work. Add in the fact that you don't get glowing indicators of who has super and a huge audio/visual siren going off when heavy is headed your way. You're not getting half your kills off of super because people run away.
Regarding Hunter, like I said - you play for the nooch not for the super. You'll find a thousand complaints for shadowshot but nothing for smoke and dash cooldowns. The main complaints, again, are the synergies afford to other classes such as abilities like Devour or complete lockdown grenades like (double) lightning grenades. The skill ceiling for high quality neutral options is something that doesn't always translate. Knifeslinger is great because it's the first "good" Hunter snowball class. You want to blow people out quick and know ahead of time that you're about to smesh randos with a premade? This is how you do it.
Mobility doesn't matter *for the beginner*. I showed a perfect example of the aim assist on console at work - strafe speed alone will never break it. Mobility only comes into play for those who already understand angles (and since map awareness as a whole is generally trash that can apply to a very selective few players). Once you close distance to the point where you're actually pressing someone's field of view bounds THEN you'll cherish that mobility stat. Said this before too. If this doesn't apply to you and your playstyle -because most people aren't or shouldn't be playing like that- then get that armor up so you move from a two tap to a three. The extra third of a second to TTK absolutely makes a difference. Or better yet invest in recovery so that leaving a losing fight and hopping back in later, something people don't do enough of because dying on the spot is more fun, takes less time.
I don't even know what to say 😂 I'm helping here.

“What about us?” we can hear everyone who has already purchased Forsaken asking. Thanks for having my back, Dy!
You’re our Vanguard. We appreciate you beginning the hunt on day one. You were there when the first raid finish changed the Dreaming City. You’ve been part of the conversation that has breathed enthusiasm back into the Tower. For you, and only the players like you, we have a collection of veteran’s rewards as an expression of our appreciation for being on the frontlines.
Every Guardian who played Forsaken prior to October 16 will receive the following bundle of items.
The Tiger Stripe Black Shader and Veterans Nameplate emblem are exclusive to players who earn this bundle by playing Forsaken prior to October 16. The two Exotic emotes will be made available on Eververse sometime in the future. All item names are subject to change.
Thank you for playing, and thank you for being the first to experience what we’ve created. This package is currently slated to be delivered to Veterans in early December. When the new Guardians arrive, please join us in extending to them the welcome that has made this community so notorious as an awesome group of people.

Also, certain things simply go unnoticed or under appreciated by many. Neutral game doesn't mean kills - it means the ability to secure kills. A damage over time ranged melee ability for example doesn't let regen occur and tracks fleeing enemies. An ability that puts fake reads on a radar combined with on demand invis puts an entire group off balance when used right. These are things that come into play for nearly every encounter. Banking on supers isn't the same as snowballing with them. If you even get one triple kill a match with a Super you're blessed.
Nightstalker has had a broken super since its inception in Taken King - its always been one of the most powerful PvP classes though. Damn sure isn't because shadowshot fails to kill people instantly, takes a second or more to tether, and gets stuck on random dust particles.
Only game changing unstoppable supers were day one bladedancer and day one hammer titan. They've been nerfed right into the mud too.

By DY_nasty Go To Post"Primaries aren't that strong"Hey, I'm just quoting the video you posted. As frustrating as the shotgun meta can get, I think his arguments for buffing primaries and being able to gun down shotgun rushers would wreck the game, most people are already using weapons with sub 1 second TTKs as is.
I don't think that's correct. Heavy only comes up every few minutes...how many times in a match? 4-6? Then you have to divide that by the 12 players in a match (8 in comp). Mathematically not everybody can even touch heavy. Compared to the 24-36 supers you'll see in a match? You'd better make both those shots you get with the Wardcliffe really count.
Add in the fact that you don't get glowing indicators of who has super and a huge audio/visual siren going off when heavy is headed your way. You're not getting half your kills off of super because people run away.
Which is why you pop it when you're around a corner & close, ideally when you've flanked a couple of opponents. You can't actually outrun nova warp, the teleport is faster than anyone can move, same with the stormtrance's. Hammers & attunement of flame dawnblade can map anyone they see. Blade barrage, chaos reach & titan smash are essentially inescapable unless you're already 75% behind cover the instant you see the animation. If you're not getting 2-3 kills off most of these, particularly the roamers, you're just doing it wrong.
Regarding Hunter, like I said - you play for the nooch not for the super. You'll find a thousand complaints for shadowshot but nothing for smoke and dash cooldowns. The main complaints, again, are the synergies afford to other classes such as abilities like Devour
Nova warp made everyone toss devour in the shed, that super makes way more of a difference than a perk that requires you to start with a melee (or swallow a grenade) then score a kill every 10 seconds to keep it going. It's essentially been relegated to a PvE/horde mode path now, I think I've seen it once all week.

I don't even know what to say 😂 I'm helping here.
I think this is mostly on point, save that it's not impossible to break it by strafing, in practice it happens all the time. It's just contingent on so many things - the aim assist stat of the weapon in question, the range stat (which as per Bungie translates to accuracy), the handling, the relative distance you're playing at, all filtered through the thumb skill of whoever's shooting. The aim assist stat itself is weirdly inconsistent because of all those factors; Graviton's got 100 assist, yet it's somehow harder to land crits with than Jade Rabbit at 80. But yes, in all fairness I'll usually use blink and bail if I've lost initiative rather than trying to dance around dodging bullets.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI mean a bunch of people maining hunters is pretty much a solid contradiction of "supers matter."I really think in large part it's because they're the primo deluxe shotgun ape class.
The neutral game on a hunter > super.
By reilo Go To PostPlay 100 Crucible matches as Hunter in PVP and then come back, pleaseOnce I've knocked out the class trophies for titan, I'll get around to that alt too. But really they're dominating right now.
By DY_nasty Go To Postthat's lol because i'm not getting forsaken til black friday. cayde gonna have to waitI actually think that's against their design philosophy right now. They figured out that for as much as the community bitches about everything, what everybody really wants is to feel powerful, so they're more about bringing else everything up rather than nerfs. The Forsaken supers are all deliberately more powerful (though some are PvE focused) than what came before. And because the super is the moment when people feel most powerful, they've brought in all these stackable mods to make it more frequent. It's getting to the stage where if they bring back Mayhem people could hardly tell. TTK got brought down, essentially making everything more powerful. They buffed scouts back up. They don't touch shotguns even though they're clearly out of whack, because that's another thing where even people who can't play can feel powerful. Even when they pretty much have to do something, it's a situation like where their Sleeper "nerf" was a reduction in aim assist that I can't even notice.
I'd be talking out my ass if there wasn't huge and jarring course correction related to everything that I've brought up. If supers were so scary bungie would've nerfed that shit into the ground like they did with sniper flinch, ohk grenades, most regen abilities.
I did the Sturm & Drang quest today...Sturm is like the best feeling hand cannon I’ve ever used (and I have AoS), but Drang is like...I’m not convinced it actually shoots bullets in PvP. It’s cool but it’s probably the worst sidearm I own.
It’s a damn shame that the Gunsmith doesn’t do things like...smith guns. It would be cool if you could pay him a bunch of cores to upgrade these year 1s with mod slots.
