The spawn points in Destiny are fucking awful but Gambler's Run might be WOAT. That map is way too small for Control, jesus.
By reilo Go To PostI'm using Go Figure with maxed out Masterworks range and hip-fire grip, rampage and a targeting adjuster mod because I suck with other gun types at range lolShould have just saved up those MW cores and the mod man...
I have no mod components and they are impossible to get, unless you know where.
Also Titans are impossible to kill in PVP now, cool. That overshield they can get is dumb, not to mention when they are in Hammer of Sol super an entire team can't take their shield down.

You get mod components from dismantling armor with a mod in it or dismantling exotics. And you're just proving my point, if they're that rare for you keep them until you get something really worth it.
I've received exactly one piece of armor with a mod component from an RNG. I couldn't even tell you the last time I rolled an exotic.
Thank heaven for Crimson. If it weren’t for that thing I’d never finish any hand cannon quest ever. Non-exotic cannons seem to lose every gunfight I get in (don’t have a Trust yet), they just don’t appear to fire fast enough in this world of Vigilance Wings & Bygoneses. They have the most demanding aim requirements of anything other than snipers too.
Right now I’m still sticking with the Jade Rabbit, and I’m messing around with this 100% stability full auto Last Dance instead of shotguns. It’s the best, most consistent non-shotgun thing I’ve ever used at close range, just point it at someone’s face, hold the trigger & watch them melt in .6 seconds. It knocked Anonymous Autumn & Death by Scorn back into the vault.

Outlaw or range finder in its place could make that killer. I like kill clip or headseeker over rampage too, that’s more of a PvE perk unless you’re a beast. It must be good in gambit though.

Anyway what LL are you? It's still not even worth it using mods or MW (unless you get a god roll or want to level an extremely good exotic) at 550+. Save that shit. Some of the exotic gear dupes aren't terrible since they got random rolls btw.
I wish I could do the raid with anyone who has experience. Every time its people learning the encounter. Then when people are on that know what they're doing I get told to LFG it'll be easy to find a group. Then I see the same people do the raid and or carry someone. Meanwhile I'm wasting hours trying to find anyone.

Honestly I don't even care what the gametypes are anymore or the maps in PVP, I want connection based matchmaking the fuck in and whatever garbage it's making me play where shit is any bit laggy to fuck right off. The weapons are too good now to be dealing with that crap.
Yeah I'm already sick of having to explain every encounter or watching people learn on the fly. Or be really low PL. And apparently no one that can raid wants to raid when I can.
Raiding kind of blows in Destiny. Best to just get in a clan that has its shit together and is serious. Also you're raiding pretty damn early unless you're in a hardcore clan tbh. Give it some time.
If mm is just gonna be so lopsided the least they could do is go back to how it was a couple weeks before Forsaken's release where latency was at its least.

Even more frustrating when I'm picking up the fights really quickly and I know I can do them if the rest of my group is competent.

All I want is a Riven kill before Red Dead.
By reilo Go To Post509. So basically I gotta roll with shit gear for 40 hours? That feels … off.Play more of the PvE stuff, after 500 the drops from crucible suck. Look for the planets with yellow emblems next to them, those have active events for high level drops (‘powerful gear’). Weekly bounties are another good way to get get the same thing. It’s actually a pretty steady cruise until you hit 540.
I don't think any responsible adult has the time to do a blind raid, especially not the last wish, shit is obtuse af. I won't be able to raid with a clear kind till around Christmas.

Your light level is decent and you know the raid mechanics. I see plenty of Riven specific groups on destiny app. You're having trouble getting into said groups?
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostYour light level is decent and you know the raid mechanics. I see plenty of Riven specific groups on destiny app. You're having trouble getting into said groups? That’s what I did Monday. Nearly everyone was clueless on Riven and best attempt was both groups getting to the 2nd floor like once at a decent time. Otherwise people didn’t understand the symbols, eyes, or kept getting confused on what the callouts where for symbol location. One guy added me after when he could tell I knew I what I was doing though lol.
O and almost forgot always have issues with sending Riven over. Either side will send her too early since the other side didn’t cleanse yet or they forgot they still need to cleanse their symbol. That part can be rough and all I’ve learned is start bursting her for stagger when you hear the other team calling out symbol locations.
Now the problem is if I can get to Riven again no one seems to have watched a single video or they haven’t failed enough at Riven to understand the fight. That’s why I’d prefer people who at least tried the fight personally so they understand what to do.
Or if I ever get lucky someone whose actually finished the raid. Since again even if I find a group that’s mostly done an encounter there’s always 1 or 2 people who are new and take forever to understand what’s happening.
I’ll be happy to join you once I get up there, I’m sitting on 544 right now. I’ve got a couple of regulars in my crew who want to do it too.
What’s the best loadout for the raid? I’ve got Sleeper, Ikelos SG, not sure what else is recommended right now. Still need to unlock the new Dawnblade & Stormcaller paths.

I personally run a duke with outlaw/rampage/richochet rounds along with ikelos shotty and sleeper or whisper.
For Riven I switch to an arsenic since I need the range for adds and so I don’t do something stupid like rush the eye so I can burst it with the shotty lol.
Also I’m down to run slaent comps for Luna’s. Just saw on era there’s a legendary kinetic nade launcher from nightfall lake of shadows. Would love to get that to pair with Luna. https://light.gg/db/en/items/3745974521/the-militias-birthright/

I think the only reason I can still play Destiny is because I've accepted how bad some people are at the game. Doesn't mean I'll play with them on purpose all the time, but I've accepted it.
I can't be like you - asking people to line up against the wall for inspection after 3 wipes during a damage phase.

nine times out of ten if a guy gets to a power level thats raid ready, then he's capable of the execution of the raid
Main issue is that there's so much toxicity with LFG's, that guys don't feel comfortable fully confessing misunderstanding. And it takes several wipes before its like, "Okay, lets be sure we all get this." That's one issue. The second issue is survivability. Guys almost always just need to survive for an additional five seconds. That's all. If its voiced a lot of things can be said to how to fix it. A guy with no issues ALWAYS coming to help after his part is done, or reminding someone that they can use an invis to escape damage for a few crucial seconds, etc.
Basically--with a dedicated raid group with nobody feeling shame about talking about these things, success is almost always guaranteed unless someone is just really quite bad at the game.

I wish I had the faith in humanity that you guys do. I've seen people who literally can't move and shoot at the same time. The problem I get to the most is that the people who have the 'misunderstandings' eventually put on ad control or made to go first/last then end up putting pressure on everyone else.
It's one thing to not be able to follow directions, but there's a point where there's no constructive criticism for people being unable to put shots on chumps. The majority of my raids were guys getting carried not teams working together.

The amount of like platforming in Raids/high end PVE content is also an issue especially when they delay your shots after going airborne or grounded is on.
I got to to Riven with randoms and random replacements so anything is possible. And in vault we won with a guy who couldn’t use his mic and completely guessing the cleanses in 2nd phase.

Enh, that grenade launcher’s got one shot - people already completely ignore that archetype - and requires manual detonation of the grenades. It also uses special ammo. It’s a novelty skill weapon. It’s not making me ditch my proximity grenades Play of the Game any time soon, that thing keeps my Colony on the bench.
Isn’t that basically what stuff like Right Side of Wrong is? There are a couple of 4 burst pulses now.

you dont deserve a hopscotch pilgrim. git gud
this thing can roll prox rounds and remote detonation. special ammo isn't some hard to find thing and you spawn with it.
we were already talking about how ammo by itself can bring weapons long forgotten right back into the game - shotguns and snipers weren't a thing until ammunition made them available to everyone and freed up up heavy slots for actual heavy weapons. lets speak practicality... why would i ever hard scope a hallway when i can just throw a grenade 60+ meters and around corners?

PoTG is the only grenade launcher you'll need in PvP.
It's nice to have things to chase. A month in and I and I haven't seen everything yet, not even half of it.
Forsaken is the real deal.
Shame about the masterworks economy, or the lack of one

That does seem pretty powerful. Yet another legendary that’s more exotic than most exotics. Prox/quickdraw/rangefinder looks like the godroll for this thing, I actually wouldn’t keep it around without the prox.
why would i ever hard scope a hallway when i can just throw a grenade 60+ meters and around corners?Because they’ll see that shot coming a mile away, and they’re not super hard to jump. You’ve gotta make that single shot count.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostPoTG is the only grenade launcher you'll need in PvP.Tbh I think it’s the best all-round heavy period. It does crowd control, beats the shit out of bosses & majors from decent range, gets you several kills in PvP because of how much ammo you get, and doesn’t hog an exotic slot. Unless I specifically need Sleeper or Tarantula in there, it has a permanent home in my heavy slot.

It really is. I still can’t get over how much stuff is in Dreaming City, the ‘post game’ is bigger than the game.
Shame about the masterworks economy, or the lack of oneIt can be a roadblock as far as keeping your gear up to spec goes, but I do like the fact that between that and the low exotic drop rate, it makes what you have special. I tend to get enough cores to make 2 buffs a day, that’s ~14 a week.
Still...I want to make a build around Lunafaction Boots + class ability regen buffs + Sweet Business because that would absolutely mangle Blind Well, (and maybe situationally in certain PvP maps like Retribution or that one chokepoint at the middle of Wormhaven). But I know it will take a lot of cores away from my main progress, let alone the forever and a day it’ll take to get all the mods.
Make shots count?
See, I'm not worried about what random average player does with the newest talk of the tower. The guys that can slide-away-180-headshot on PC and work the Titan wall like Pen & Teller are the ones that I'm worried about. In the wrong hands, these "meh, could be nice" weapons/abilities become demonic. That grenade launcher is situational in the sense that it removes people from the peak game automatically. Theres no other weapon that gives the player that option on spawn. To illustrate why that's so important - refer to how the community judges class grenades. Being ability to damage or push enemies that are not within line of sight is a what separates good neutral options from the bad. It's not something you "see coming" either. I'm not sure anyone should see grenade launchers coming tbh. People can dodge it only if you telegraph the hell of your shots. Peaking with heavy isn't something new either. It's why heavy machine guns still aren't back lol
So yeah. An additional grenade that hits like an incendiary that can be fired from absurd ranges on any build committed to closing ground? Degenerate/10
Also, Grenade Launchers in PvE are... If it's not the direct type you're missing out on a ton of damage if you're set on using it for crowd control. They've got a great damage bonus since the update and a lot of people had fun during the modifiers for heavy run. But don't let Faze see you with it in the raid after 4 wipes.

I dunno. I think you might be overselling it. If it’s in your kinetic slot, think of all the things you don’t have access to - Luna’s, AoS, Bygones - basically 80% of the meta, things that you’re going to be using a lot more over the course of a match. I’d be surprised if the tryhards suddenly dropped all that stuff for this.
That said, I’m still totally grinding for a prox/rangefinder drop this weekend. Who wants to run some nightfalls?

That’s why I specified there were other situations. For a raid or particularly tough nightfall I’ll equip Sleeper. For gambit right now I like to run Tarantula so I can keep my other slots open for exotics that are better at mowing down ads, which is what you spend 90% of your time doing until the primeval pops and you can switch out. I’m still experimenting though.
Other than that PotG is a way better all-rounder, there are barely any strike bosses who can stand up to it. And it does better crowd control than any other heavy - rocket launchers are effective but need more shot setup and reload super slowly.
