By reilo Go To PostThem opening up the weapons system to let you load out however the fuck you want is nice. Also being able to actually invest in a weapon? What a concept.
Any details on how this works

Or just put it back to d1 like everything else. Whatever tho. I can't get wins but I'm getting hilarious multikills even in the ts meta with vigi and jade rabbit. Pray to jesus they don't nerf those.
In the next vidoc I want to see deep and complex skill trees and actual mod options for armour and weapons. The current system has the the depth of a teaspoon.

For the more sane don't even touch Crucible till they actually fix their fucking MM algorithms. Still just an absolute shit show if you're solo queueing.

Really depends on how much you really want to put into it too. I'm personally a bit turned off from loot games lately. I just find how demanding these games are of your time to be a big turn off.
Destiny ain't even much of a loot game. What genuinely depresses me is how good the game looks and feels but a bunch of design decisions just render it frustrating. Like right now for faction rallies, you can't purchase gear with your faction tokens, you are at the whim of RNJesus for your gear. There are people at 50 or more rank (that's over 750 tokens put into one of the faction leaders with gear/weap/shader every 15) that still haven't gotten a full set of gear. So 50 or more times to get a piece of the faction gear and they haven't got one. Shits dumb. I think I got the number wrong, it's even more =/. 20 tokens yikes.
Also this go around I can't be different factions on each character of mine. More dumb shit.

From one of the Crucible devs.
No wonder Destiny PVP is trash. So many things wrong with this statement.
"In Call of Duty a scrub can come around a corner, see someone of higher skill unload on them and win that fight. In Halo, a scrub can come around a corner, find someone who is facing away and higher skill, come up behind them, open fire and then the high skilled player will turn around, jump in the air, bounce a grenade off the ground, the grenade will pop that player off the ground, they'll headshot them as their in the air, and then they'll land and immediately t-bag and walk away like nothing happened. Having more space allows for more opportunities of skill to happen."😂😂😂😂

If that was a just a poorly worded way to say there is a larger skill gap in Halo than in CoD, i agree with it.
The issue is Destiny isn't Halo and he's fundamentally ignoring that a high skilled player would expect a flank due to high situational awareness, position themselves to deal with should it happen and they'd be tipped off by radar.

So what is the consensus with this game? First it was dead, then awesome, then meh, then shit, then good...
the bow is awesome
By The Frankman Go To PostSo what is the consensus with this game? First it was dead, then awesome, then meh, then shit, then good…it was never dead. destiny 2 was real close but shit never tipped past division numbers
By The Frankman Go To PostSo what is the consensus with this game? First it was dead, then awesome, then meh, then shit, then good…It is fun to do the original single-player content and then put it away until possibly this fall/winter.
It's never been proper dead. D1 hit a sweet spot after a few years and then D2 basically came out and said "to hell with all the shit we got right in D1." Since then they've been trying to get the game back to how it was in D1. Some stuff they're getting right, some shit they're still dropping the ball on. PVP is led by absolute morons, there is no other way for me to say it.
And this faction rally they made the pledge account wide. Before you could pledge loyalty to whatever faction you want on separate characters. For instance I did New Monarchy on my Titan, Dead Orbit on my Hunter and Future War Cult on my Warlock. This time around you had to pledge to one. There are probably only 3 faction rallies per season so you have to grind out everything for one faction in the single week it was up if you want different shit for each character you own. Also each faction has a different exotic catalyst to farm. Sigh.
In destiny 1 factions were not on a limited time frame, they were always available and you were constantly gaining rep with them if you wore certain stuff. This made the most sense. This time around it was an intense grind during one week. This is how I know Bungie is spectacularly full of shit. They said they don't want the game to be a job. What's more job like than scheduling your gaming and doing overtime just to get shit done?

RAU is right about the factions stuff - time-gating an event that was available all year round in D1 is bullshit
It's shortsighted and just gonna discourage people from playing when they can't get a set that week or have a vacation or a life.
Guns carry over into Forsaken, unlike TTK you can infuse Year 1 guns upwards
whats unclear is if random rolls will apply to existing guns

My PS4 Pro comes in tomorrow and I was looking for a good shooter to play. I remember reading this thread last year and always wanted to roll with you guys but I'm recapping everything and I'm like "do I really want to get into this shit?" I mean I'm not playing Overwatch on a console (PC isn't strong enough to play the way I want) and this game has made me leery of stuff, forget the recent fuckery.

the cracks in destiny don't really appear until you're semi-deep into endgame. ive got zero complaints about the majority of the content until that point. its a steal for however much it is now
same with the division - both games are quality until endgame.

The price is worth it. We bitch loudly because the game feels and looks fucking great and yet the decisions by the devs are fucking contradictory and dumb as hell. If the game didn't feel so fucking good to play I would have dropped it like a ton of bricks. The real issue are glaring design flaws that could change if the devs took the time to realize how dumb their decision making has been. They've basically laid waste to their own Destiny 1 progress and lost a lot of fans/players in the process.
