Saving up everything now since the economy is actually gonna let us purchase stuff. Even gunparts I ain't bothering with no more since they're gonna update mr. gunsmithy.

Destiny needs to get its MM together. Stomping people who can barely fire back just makes me feel like an asshole, not particularly good at the game.

mida/uriels/last hope/sword
bungie pls. its the most predictable thing in the world to play against right now. every once in a while i'll run into a solo player that's actually on their shit, or a team that obvious clear callouts in real time and adjusts, but the majority of guys i've seen lately that are supposed to be in my bracket i mash into the dirt.
the people that ARE good? whoooooooole different ball game. elite af. bungie pls. but it goes to show that the skill ceiling and skill floor in destiny 2 is incredibly botched.
I really really despise not being able to take on two people if the Matchmaking is going to be this fucking disparate game to game.

By Random Ass Username Go To PostI really really despise not being able to take on two people if the Matchmaking is going to be this fucking disparate game to game.I complain about it on voice chat all the time, but I swear to fucking god I die 90% of the time by just being flanked by a teammate after a successful kill.
You're also a hunter no? Played on my titan the other day and shield comes up so much quicker. Ridiculous.
Yea, Hunter. Even with my Recovery now at a 4 (I think, or a 3), it still is a deadzone period where any small hit and I'm dead.
I have resorted to using my invisibility as a defensive measure to gtfo after a successful kill, rather than an offensive measure to flank. Which I'll still do, but I don't feel confident in surviving unless it's on specific maps (Endless Vale and Javelin-4 are the better Hunter maps because flanking is more feasible).

By DY_nasty Go To Postrespectfully you run the most anti-multikill loadout ever reilo lolThis is true.
I'm rocking MIDA/Last Hope, all about that long-distance, invisibility + short flank combo.
But I was mostly speaking on even after a kill, the window to get out and successfully survive is so slim.
You need something other than MIDA if you're not great at headshotting and want to actually do multi-kills. I would recommend scathe or a good pulse for close in quarters type maps. MIDA you need very specific spots because of the range on everything else now as well as be very familiar of the maps. And the ability for folks to team shot harder makes even double/triple kills with headshots quite difficult. I'd also rock Knucklehead if you have it. MIDA is even team mate dependent or mostly for me opponent dependent. If the other team is much more aggressive and rocking a lot of HCR, to the scathe I go, especially on some of those maps with closer in corridors.
I would put Uriels or some kind of auto rifle in secondary if rocking mida rather than a sidearm. It's also more likely to keep folks at bay even while you're near death.

I wish Destiny Tracker was up to snuff like it was in D1 so I could verify what my percentages are with various guns. I think I'm reasonably good at headshot, I'm just not fast at headshotting, if that makes sense?
Oh, and I hated the Scathe when I used it. Definitely prefer Uriel's Gift.
And yea, I either go Knucklhead or Foetracer. Foetracer makes most sense with a MIDA loadout since you already get third-eye with it.

Go Knucks so you can utilize uriels with a radar. If you hate scathe roll Uriels in the close situations. If you feel them pressing just switch from Mida to Uriels and buy yourself some time.
most of my aggressive pushes are only when i know someone isn't anywhere near a spawn point, when i know i've got at least some kind of team shooting at an angle or behind me, or when i feel like i can make someone miss long enough to make them run (because everyone runs in this game lol)
even then, after most kills i'll hit a corner and get air or find a wall and crouch to bait the next guy. you can't just shoot it out in the streets anymore
that's kinda why i'm feeling the new map designs. they're not friendly to long range at all. a lot less work to do for anyone who likes to play close range
i'm kinda done with sidearms too. they're great at what they do, but that range dropoff is utterly unforgiving to the point where you can't correct yourself in a fight. ARs have a weird zone where they're still good in close, but god help you if the guy you're lined up with has an smg or sidearm because you will melt the moment you miss a headshot. also, ar clip size is fake news.

if i ever get a sweet business i might troll it the fuck up tho
Maybe it wasn't the Scathelock, but I seemed to dislike it's slow RoF. I'll give it another shot, pretty sure I got 9 in my vault.
I have a sweet and keep forgetting I should try to troll with it. Everyone I tell scathe hates it at first. Even I did. But it's great and locks them down hard especially if you're dealing with some foul HCR too. Personally I'd love it all to be taken to nerf town though. It's one thing to be out shot or out maneuvered, not being able to fire back is some bullshit.
By reilo Go To PostMaybe it wasn't the Scathelock, but I seemed to dislike it's slow RoF. I'll give it another shot, pretty sure I got 9 in my vault.its just a reliability thing more than anything else. after tap the trigger deactivates on uriels, it goes from godlike to ordinary real quick. people should be treating it like a more loose vigilance wing really, but that's hardly ever the case
like seriously tap the trigger is amazing lol. its why the fwc smg is never leaving my loadout.
I just know the game is gonna be some shit if I gotta run around with my scathe or my uriels rather than just chillin' with my MIDA. MIDA can be op but I'm still perturbed about the range on some weapons. To me the MIDA ever being op is a product of terrible map design or folks just being stupid and wanting to fire at dumb range with their non-scout. Dy knows how much I love my MIDA but still loathe maps like Vostok.
mida just ain't as versatile as it used to be imo
its still really, really good but the longer the game goes the more the community is growing towards stuff that'll run through walls or allow you to win those kinds of engagements through fukkery

they already have been straight up about aiming in the air being trash from the start because it creates a massive gap between players from the start. then there's the radar's power. then there's ghost bullets and bloom. then you got two distinct abilities (rift and wall) that directly impact long range engaging. then you've got the brooding hate boner for all things hunter (throwing knife and tripmine were only good in the hands of people that knew the strengths of general gunplay). then you've got the aim assist through the roof on everything to make everyone's aim top tier. i could go on lol
they don't like traditional shooting anymore, and its gonna keep sliding backwards as time goes on
its not even cheese. i cheese by headglitching the every ledge in the game with the climbing animation ha. no one's even up on that yet
That's a fair assessment I definitely cannot argue with this:
they don't like traditional shooting anymore, and its gonna keep sliding backwards as time goes onAnd it's why I just can't mess with FPS much anymore.
Did some, as DY would put it, science with the Scathelocke, and y'all were right. IDK why I ever left ARs to the side. I did the best with them, and it's clear they're good for PVP.
I think playing with a MIDA as long as I did improved my aim overall but yea this is more fun.

Nothing like dealing with fusion rifles with the mobility of Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 legit has some of the worst MM I've ever played. No idea what is wrong with it. I'll go on long streaks of stomping, long streaks of getting stomped.

I'm hoping some balance changes come soon too. I might legit spend a day just practicing movement after looking at this trials tape.

teamshot meta has me frustrated and disgusted
"can someone pls rotate in with me to finish off my guy, we're both 1 shot, oh and one of yall really need to hit a flank like now"
i aint got time to be building up that level of coordination with randoms, Halo required a good team shot but you could also just straight strafe shot/double shot your way out of a bad situation, there's really no making anyone miss in D2 console
I got the PC version hoping that aim skill and strafing would come more into play, but tthere's actually a large chunk of PC users who actively user the controller and get the auto aim functionality

Against bad teams I don't, against good teams? Hard to get the single picks you need with the radar system being what it is
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostAgainst bad teams I don't, against good teams? Hard to get the single picks you need with the radar system being what it isagainst good teams the best thing you can be doing is be more mobile and do more damage
the teamshotting thing is something that happens when you're getting beaten to a spot more than anything else. trying to make it happen is just brute forcing a particular situation - and its way too easy to blow up from an opposing standpoint. you're basically trying to drag a firing line across the map.
They really need to disable aim assist in pvp on PC. If you want to play controller that’s fine, but you should accept your skill ceiling will be lower rather than getting an unfair boost to make up for the deficiencies of your input.
Controller user here and the mobility with it is doodoo compared to pc still, wouldn't mind an even higher sensitivity but oh wells
Biggest problem i have is the teamshotting stuff as well and even the objectives, this insistence on "team" crap when most of the time you're just thrown together with whomever the fuck is just why.
Then there's the matchmaking where my team will stomp the crap out of another or I'm relegated to getting stomped because suddenly i have team mates who don't really know what they're doing. It's very strange. Most of the time I don't rely on them because they get me killed. Seriously had a team mate the other night who was right on my butt when I would seek out a new position. Just breh you gonna get us popped doing that. I'll play against folks who know how to strafe, dodge, shotty slide then after several losses I suddenly have quality team mates and the other team has easy kills.
Couple this with just the lack of a clash only playlist and crucible seems tedious to me.

teamshotting is great for targeting people, then keeping guns out the fight while the spawns try to keep up
i think people still don't know how to move, pivot, and shoot though. like all you need to do is do damage, draw fire, or at the very least keep just one person occupied enough to where things can happen. there'll be times when i got guys on my team complaining about a rift, i throw an incen grendade, and its killing time but they're completely unwilling to push and even get the 3-1 trade at worst.
also you can't force people to make mistakes by sitting in a lane either.

Speaking mostly about trials--both bomb and survival are teamshot simulators, particularly when teams are forced to group to even play games. For pub stomping? It's a completely different game. But every game I've lost to a 4 stack of 2+ KD's in trials has been through being on the wrong end of a disadvantaged fight. It's never some guy who is just too hard to outshoot or individually too good--you'd see that sometimes in D1, particularly with high caliber night stalker players with unlimited dodge. In D2 trials against good teams its basically:
"K guys lets manuever to hold this heavy lane, try to get a pick and then use our advantage to press them"
*someone gets picked, we get outmanuevered and the other team has heavy*
"lol aite"
I've been thinking a LOT of this could be fixed by bringing snipes back into the primary slot. It would create a means from which an individual player can break and hold lanes on his own and not have everything come down to slow TTK weapons. And it would force players to make some tough decisions about their loadout. Snipe and a side arm with no advantage in the mid range combat areas? Snipe and a primary and basically asking to get ran down by a last hope/antiope?
It's crazy to think I got most of my kills with a snipe in D1 and don't even use it in D2
I didn't understand shotty and snipes on heavy at all this go around, they're great super deterrents too. Never really liked Trials much but that's me. Elimination style with rezzing but ultimately the team shotting this go ground yikes. Not enough perks to get a big population for it either. Like only gonna run into folks REALLY into it. Just over it.

radar though? i'll always be in agreement that its way too strong as it is right now. good teams can rotate literally faster than you can flank - i'm at the point where I'm legit bothered by people not committing to pushing when they should and instead getting chopped up in lanes because they're in love with overwatch stats. a good death in 4 v 4 where you're forcing a positional shift is worth way more than a shitty assist but everyone needs to see that +1 light up their feed. no one gets this.
the more i think about snipers becoming prevalent again, the more i'm on the fence. i do not miss people hardscoping every single sightline the way they did in D1. it was horrible. all the time lol
