By Laboured Go To PostGoing to be getting my 4K 144hz monitor with this. Could be a fun little loot shooter I reckon.

I'm as bit of a stickler for art style as anyone on here (complained enough about ugly games and whatnot and passed on several due to it), but I had no problem with Destiny's artstyle.
By Smokey Go To Postactually now that i think about it…bungie still on 30 fps on console….?it's OK, they're gonna bundle the Destiny supercut with Destiny 2 to make up for the 30 fps.

Summertime sadness.
looks to right a few of the many wrongs of the first, I just need loading times to be so much shorter though.

fucking hack dev.
okay, finally some PvE from someone who isn't so good or terrible that it skews an impression

couple of things
(fuck warlocks in 2017 2018 2019 infinity) Go To Ground is gonna be cheesy as FUCK. Phaze. Phaze breh. Warlocks used to be free in the air. Now? They can float, but GTG drops them quick AND gives them the third person to peek. Yes, they're slightly vulnerable through the animation but that shit is something to watch out for.
In this vid I saw a Striker bust out on Fist of Havoc and then another immediately after. In the PvP stuff earlier, dude shot off a golden gun 5 fucking times. I don't know what to think.
Damage fall off on scouts is brazy now too. You used to be able to sit back and pop shots from 4x as far but in this strike around the 6 minute mark you can see Bungie's blunt intention of throwing ass in the frying pan.

WARLOCK MASTER RACE.
so far the cons as far as I'm concerned.
Consoles still being hamstrung to 30fps for 4v4 mp (fuck you Bungle)
No dedis.... with all that money?
the unclear size of the worlds. (why not go open world for each planet?)

even the fly in sequence is the same...
Bungie games usually have a decent art direction limited by their engine.
Looking at the Halo 3 announcement trailer vs the cutscene that made it to the game is sad.

By Smokey Go To PostHow is it not? The ship turns to the right instead of the left or some other small detail?i thought it was the same
The only way to get the psy's and data's of the world to be interested in destiny would require massive changes to the fly in animation that would piss off the fans you already have.

By Bold 2 in One Go To Post4v4 Control is going to be a shit show - how do you cover 3 points with 4 players?control was only about controlling two points and praying your teammates wouldnt flip the spawns trying to get the third
seriously, WTF?
By Laboured Go To PostSo with everyone having varying weapon/loot powers, how do Bungie balance that in PvP?
In the original, level differences don't matter, only weapons and abilities. It's not terribly hard to get to a point where you're on even footing, it just becomes a matter of chasing your ideal weapons.
Is it still peer-to-peer in terms of the multiplayer? Are there dedicated servers?
It is a complicated typology. We do not have dedicated servers for Destiny 2 on PC.
:lol
so glad its 30 fps personally
if its locked at 30 and I get 4k fidelity then I'm good--at worst it'll be checkerboard 4k on the pro
Trials was the only thing worth playing imo in destiny in terms of good balanced gameplay and they built on that and expanded it to 4 v 4. This is for the best and it's going to be a very strong competitive shooter as a result.
Halo CE , 2, and 3 were extremely high level games at 30 fps and in my mind the 60 fps in Halo 5 didn't change all that much aside from inviting fukkery like 30 fps background animations and worse visuals.
will be getting this on ps4--for one I can't wait for a december release and secondly there's just too many hours invested in a game like this for me to depend on everything going smoothly in the pc version
for the love of god I hope we can change fov on console though--titanfall gives this option and balance is fine

It's more like....it's 2017 and shooters are 60fps. That's just what it is, unless you live in Bungie world where you champion things like clans and 4v4.
am i reading this right? CE and 2 were competitive because of how the games were designed. halo 5 could have been 30fps and it still would have been a casual shooter.
there's no defense for 30fps in multiplayer.

Destiny 2 doesnt have dedicated servers and it its releasing later on PC than consoles
yall have fun with your phenomenon

On PC it's gonna be smooth af at 120-144fps, but on consoles bungie needs to be called out. P2P MP also reeks of Activision being cheap af.
By Hitch Go To PostIt was a messI only played vanilla Destiny and found the story incomprehensible. Did this get fixed in the expansions?
Load times, lack of planets and locations, dogshit story and structure in how it was told (grimoire cards fuck off), no attempt to provide variety through sparrows and ships
Felt like it was built up to be far, far more than it actually was on release. All it had going for it was tight controls. Might as well have replayed fucking Vanquish with that in mind.
See those mountains?
By chandlerparsons Go To PostI only played vanilla Destiny and found the story incomprehensible. Did this get fixed in the expansions?A bit, yeah. Scenarios and voice overs as you were going through your missions actually told you the basics of what was going on and what you were doing. At least in the Rise of Iron expansion.

and the reviews will come out saying its one of the best feeling games, as is the norm for bungie developed shooters
but a vocal minority will say "no excuse for 60fps" and yet again, lauded for feeling really good to play, sells well, reviews well, a top game on twitch
And look, I love high fps. I just don't think it matters as much for console shooters because of the inherit limitation of the controllers input precision to begin with. As compared to PC, where my mouse can keep up and take advantage of any extra frames my monitor can output.

this nikka
never been so disgusted with a post of yours
By Smokey Go To Postthis nikkaIt has roots in truth, though. Auto-aim fucks up the finer control you would gain from 60 fps. Driving games are different because there is, generally, no steer assist that's similar to aim-assist. Fighting games are primarily played with digital controls (Smash Bros. excluded) so 60 fps still matters.

Console shooters? Eh. I enjoy it far more, but it doesn't have as big an impact on this genre, platform, and control type.

the FUK am I reading
60fps in no way shape or form is inferior to 30fps
Why is every other shooter 60fps in 2017 on consoles then. Destiny is literally the only AAA one left from the publisher with some of the deepest pockets around.
I don't even know you two today wtf
"It's just not an investment that we made for Destiny 2, like the uh… I understand there's certainly a desire for it. You know, the smaller team format, although it's one person bigger in the Trials case for sure here, in the smaller team format in general it's easier for us to find tighter matches. And we're also going to rechange the parameters for matchmaking, to refocus on connection quality instead of like Trials win matching. WE're gonna like change the, we're going to change a bunch of parameters to focus on giving people a better network experience."
smh. did they think people would be okay with p2p? how do you not have a bullshit PR answer ready for this question and just let this dude try to wing it on the spot
By Smokey Go To Post60 fps is superior; it just barely moves the needle when it comes to accuracy on analog stick + aim-assist on consoles played on TV's with multiple frames of input lag.

Luke Smith: "I mean, I'm going to wade into this, and you [Mark Noseworthy] can flesh it out. The console, the PS4 Pro is super powerful, but it couldn't run our game at 60. Our game's this rich physics simulation where collision of players, networking, etc, and like, it wouldn't run."
IGN: "Yeah, makes sense."
Luke Smith: "Not enough horsepower there."
Mark Noseworthy: "But there's tons of GPU power in the PS4 Pro. That's why we're doing 4K, right? It's on the CPU side. Destiny's simulation, like we have more AI, more monsters in an environment with physically simulated vehicles and characters and projectiles, and it's part of the Destiny magic, like that, like 30 seocnds of fun, like coming around a corner and throwing a grenade, popping a guy in the head, and then you add like 5, 6, 7 other players in a public event; that is incredibly intensive for hardware."
So laptop CPU is the apparent reason
I was originally thinking the game would do prime COD numbers but now after seeing them show the game it looks like they made it for Destiny fans only and not to try to get people who werent into 1 or burnt out on 1 into it i'm gonna take back my statement
like it'll do well. but nowhere near what a sequel to one of the most ambitious ''''''''''ideas'''''''' should do
