Got the platinum trophy tonight and now I can retire the game for as long as it takes them to make the end game interesting. A raid that isn't a tedious bore would be a good start.
Keen for that PC play, can't wait to enjoy the greatest PC port in some time. Here's a clip from beta to enjoy of this glorious content only we shall be granted ;)
Also, god damn I love the embedding on this site. Beautiful.

A raid that isn't a tedious bore would be a good start. It's a real shame how badly they dropped the ball with the end game content. The raid is alright and I like it but the Prestige mode is a complete fucking joke. You get an emblem, the same armor with a small effect and that's pretty much it. So much wasted potential if you ask me.
By Hitch Go To PostDoesn't the effect disappear at the weekly reset as well?Isn't that the aura? You get that from the prestige NF or Raid and it resets weekly. The pr raid armor should have a purple glow, surely that doesn't reset?
And its not even a legendary effect

No the armor is permanent.
By Hitch Go To PostAnyone wanna help me try to get the Rat King quickly? If you still need help, I can help after I get home from work around 14 CET
Wait, so to get the rat king you need to complete a nightfall with 5 minutes on the clock?
Wut?!
Does the gun shoot exploding sharks or something?

I've put in over a 100 hours now, and have three characters over lvl 300. I love it and do think it's better than D1, but I just think the end game sucks bad.
Hopefully the live team will get stuff done

Also it's been confirmed by DeeJ that there will be no Festival of the Lost this year. The first event will be "The Dawning".

Enjoyed the campaign portion of the game far more than D1, the strikes need more rotational fresh content and PvP is fun when you have a team. Bungie have put out a real solid networking product, saying that as an Aussie that usually reserves compliants. Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed the far less grinding approach and rapid progression they tweaked D2 for. However the entry to the RAID put me a few weeks behind my RAID buddies but we got it done the other night for me finally. Wasn't their best RAID and wasn't their worst either. As a massive Halo fan I have to say these days I'm more for PvE content over PvP, how FPS times have changed for me. I look forward to more content for D2 and great times with buddies.
By Grimsat Go To PostDo we have a date for it?I think it's launching winter 2017, somewhat close to (or with) the first DLC, as that's slated for winter 2017 too.

Has anyone tried out guided games yet? I have a few buddies that I'm in a clan with, but due to weird work schedules, none of us are on at the same time. I want to do the raid, but don't really want to get screamed at, as I've only completed the first room with the staffs. I've watched several videos though, so I'm familiar with the content, but like I said, I don't want to get yelled at for not knowing it like the back of my hand. Anyone with good/bad experiences with it?
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWait, so to get the rat king you need to complete a nightfall with 5 minutes on the clock?Did it fairly easily on the strike with no time extensions and faster recharging abilities, although I can't remember what it's called. The pyramidion, maybe? It wasn't too bad with people who knew what they were doing. To be totally honest, though, it's not that great of a weapon, unless maybe you have a group of people with them. I'd rather use MIDA or Vigilance Wing in my kinetic slot, personally.

Try to form a group from here maybe? Or with gaffers whenever they launch their new site (I remember your avatar from gaf if you’re the same person).
guided games for the raid is still pretty buggy, a disconnect could send the entire thing off the rails
By Grimsat Go To PostI really wouldn’t use guided games for the raid, I haven’t used it but heard a lot of bad experiences from people who have,Oh lord, I was never on GAF, just lurked there for years. I'll have to change that so it doesn't seem like I'm trying to impersonate anyone. Anyway, that's probably a solid idea. Is there an official place for meetups, or a different OT? Or would I have to create one?

You have to sit at the queue window until a game is found. I just can't wrap my head around some of the boneheaded design decisions they make.

I just can't wrap my head around some of the boneheaded design decisions they make.Whoa whoa whoa, I just assumed you could do other stuff while queueing, like...every other game I can think of. I guess I could just get through more Golf Story while I wait, but that's still frustrating.
Guided games is one of the oddest design choices I've ever seen. Why not just make it all matchmaking? They were so stubborn to keep the games end game content locked away from it, yet they received enough complaints they thought they were throwing us a bone. But everything about it is bad, from the que times to the tokens required to enter one. The only good thing to come out of its inclusion was the laugh it gave me when I signed a contract to enter.
I haven't tried GG yet, but by the sound of things, I will be giving it a pass until they sort it out. Bungie still wants EVERYTHING done on their terms and seem pathologically resistant to any sense of player freedom.
heyo!!! how's it going? figured it was time to switch my clan up as they never speak and never do events. if there are any openings I'm down to join. still need to do the raid so there's that. hope I can be a good addition to the community.
Destiny 2 is the most fun I've had with friends on a game this gen, primarily a single player gamer though. Gonna stick with Destiny as my only GaaS experience for a while in between games like God of War and Red Dead 2. Those weekly milestones keep calling me back to join my fireteam. Season 2 and the dlc info looks very exciting.
I was hyped as heck to get this for PC but the last month of monitoring the Destiny 2 subreddit made me cancel my pre-purchase :(
I'm sad, the gameplay looked fun, but everyone is pretty unhappy

The subreddit is as toxic and salty as all hell, and seriously way overblown.
Yes, the end games does suck like I had said before, but that's after a 100 hours playtime lol.
The weekly reset is great and gets me back every week, no doubt. And the game will only get better with time too.

Also about getting people to play with, if I'm on here and someone needs a hand I'll gladly help! My other recommendation is the 'Fireteam' reddit.
I've used it multiple times now and it's pretty great. I always get friendly people with mics who I end up having a great time with. Went flawless with three randoms the other weekend, and also get the weekly nightfall done every week with people from that reddit.
It's extremely useful and friendly in my experience - I honestly wouldn't shy away from it if no one on here was on.

If you played the beta and enjoyed it I don't see why you would be deterd by the 1% hardcore's overblown complaints.

Fix those and we've got a party.
End game is painfully bad. Doesn't help that I loved every raid except this one. In the past I would run the raid on all my characters and then run it a bunch more as a sherpa for new people. This raid has turned me off so badly that I don't even run it anymore. Iron Banner was just a complete and total joke. The game wasn't rushed(3+ years of development time), but it feels rushed. Why are two of the four playable spaces fleshed out while the other two are so lackluster (io and Titan)? Why don't Lost Sectors get harder as I level up? Bleh, it's not even worth the effort to ask them to change things. The direction they're going was made perfectly clear the other night when they talked for an hour straight about items that will be sold inside of Tess' bright engrams.

How do people likie Crota but hate this?
Crota was asscrackers.

it feels like calus is all mechanics, all the time.
I still haven't even attempted the raid. I want a group of you guys to let me ride your coattails through it. I don't really like the idea of rolling the dice with a guided game and ending up wasting time.
By TheHunter Go To PostHow do people likie Crota but hate this?Crota is my 2nd least favorite, but it was still fun to run with a group. As opposed to this raid where there's 7 chests and only one guaranteed drop. And if you want more coins(YAY LOVE THE COIN SYSTEM) you have to get another group of people to go through the tedious effort of collecting them in the underbelly. I can't believe Bungie thought that was good game design.

I like the raid to be honest, mechanics heavy activities are the best, 1 bad guy and you have to reset, the loot though...

I say give it a try. I came in with massive expectation (D1 was a glorious time for me personally, I was expecting a game that would last me the next few months) and though the game fell flat in the end, it was still massive fun on my way there with friends and think I got my money's worth out of it. Time will tell if they'll fix the issue and shortcomings eventually.
