By OneTwoTee Go To PostWhy always server maintenance during European peak times? You fucking suck, Bungie.I'm hoping to give it a go during the daytime on Wednesday. Hopefully I can do the Nightfall tomorrow and hit 280 somehow
I'm down to help out with the raid whenever people are doing it. And by help out, I mean shoot aimlessly and die a lot.
Maybe a first attempt tomorrow, but obviously the Liverpool match takes priority and I'll be nowhere near max level
By Kibner Go To Postmax level is 350, i think, so don't sweat it if you don't reach it lolKeep forgetting that and assuming its like 302 lol. Think that's the highest I've seen on my FL and roster.
Maintenance extended, was hoping to play some before work :(
Gauntlet was annoying as hell, but that was because the raid leader did a piss-poor job of explaining how it worked. Once it clicked, it was ezpz.
Am I crazy or have there way more maintenance work and shutdowns with D2 than D1?
As far as I know the first game sold more.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostAm I crazy or have there way more maintenance work and shutdowns with D2 than D1?Vanilla D1 at release was nonstop fukkery. Especially because they didn't have priorities straight. They were out patching the fucking loot cave and de-cheesing events instead of working on stability issues.
As far as I know the first game sold more.
They would shut down events on the spot (queens bounty) while Atheon would teleport all over VoG.
The amount of disconnects and dropped connection in Vanilla D1 was atrocious. D2 is a beacon of stability in comparison.
Ok, duders. I've been playing quite a bit (for me, anyway), and this game is still a little oddball to me. There is a lot of important or possibly important stuff that just isn't communicated well by the game to the player. I could never get with Destiny 1 and gave up before they made it "good," so a lot of this stuff is pretty foreign to me that's pretty much second nature to you all, I'm sure.
Anyway, I have just a handful of really simple questions.
- What makes those elite enemies appear? On Titan I ran into this insanely powerful enemy twice. He had an actual name, which was some muckmouth fantasy stuff like Nica The Destroyer or something like that. Anyway, he was tougher than most bosses from the campaign. It took a long time to defeat him each time. I first saw him just after a public event and took him down. Like five minutes later he was back but in a different location. He brought a horde of Taken with him each time.
- Did I screw up starting with a Hunter? PvP seems pretty tough with one.
- Should I be weary of dismantling legendary items? It feels like a mistake when I do, but I obviously must.
- I'm also weary of applying weapon/armor mods. Is that fear unfounded?
- I'm at 238 power. It feels like it's going to take a long time before I'm ready for the raid. Any decent way to speed this up that doesn't just involve running between public events?
Yeah, I'm new to this. Don't shame me.

AFAIK, the elite enemy spawns are random. They are a thing that happens and they drop a loot chest. I think the more players in the zone, the tougher they are.
PvP is very different from PvE. They require vastly different loadouts to be most effective. PvP doesn't really care about sustained damage; the ability to win a fight quickly and still live is the goal. So, burst damage and resilience are the most important gear aspects. PvE can vary but if you aren't struggling there, I wouldn't worry about it much.
e: also, according to DY, the Hunter's first sub-class (the electric one) is rough on new-comers to the game in PvP
I try to make sure I have at least one of every weapon legendary weapon either on my character or in the vault. Balance changes can affect them greatly and it is relatively easy to get one up to a usable power level. Armor depends. The only thing that really differs between them (other than looks) is their distribution of the three stats: mobility, resilience, and recovery. Legendary armor has three points to spend on those stats and they can be distributed differently between each piece.
I haven't really used them much, but it is how you can speed up your power level gain. I have a post on the previous page explaining how. Once you hit 280 power, you can combine three rare mods of the same type to make a purple version.
Do public events, patrols, strikes, PvP, finish off the adventures, do the weapon quests, kill world elites, reputation turn-ins, etc to get higher level gear. Once you get to 265 or so, upgrades stop dropping so easily. That is when you will be relying on milestones or quests that have "powerful gear" as a reward as that can drop above your power level and really start using mods to increase the base power level of your gear.

By Jeff-DSA Go To PostAnyway, I have just a handful of really simple questions. They re-spawn after a certain interval. Why or how often? No idea, I'm sure someone has specifics. Imagine playing WoW and you wanted to take down a big buff enemy that you know will re-appear in a certain area.

By Jeff-DSA Go To Post- Did I screw up starting with a Hunter? PvP seems pretty tough with one.I ask myself that every day, but eventually I come to the conclusion that the class is pretty specific in its usage, and the best advice I have is... get better. The class is about mobility and moving around and utilizing your skills to take advantage of the map. There's no bail-out supers or melee for you to rely on like in other classes, so just be smart and diligent about how to utilize it. Short rule of thumbs, no matter the class in PVP: learn the map, don't engage more enemies than you can handle, and if you feel like you're in a situation that doesn't favor you, clinch those buttcheeks and run out of there. Learning how to survive in Crucible is a skill.
Also, play around with your gear and your Mobility/Resistence/Health Regeneration attributes. You should tweak those with your gear as you see fit depending on which playstyle you want to adhere to.
By Jeff-DSA Go To Post- Should I be weary of dismantling legendary items? It feels like a mistake when I do, but I obviously must.Keep/store the Legendaries you want to use, but don't be wary. It's a loot-based shooter at the end of the day, there's more weapons and armor around every corner. With Factions coming back tomorrow, it'll be even easier to get the gear you want.
By Jeff-DSA Go To Post- I'm also weary of applying weapon/armor mods. Is that fear unfounded?Yes.

By Jeff-DSA Go To PostYeah, I'm new to this. Don't shame me.Welcome to a MMO-shooter hybrid.
I will say I am wrong on one thing: Arcstrider is a pretty big "bailout" Super in the like of Stormcaller or Fist of Havoc, but it still requires huge map awareness to make it useful, and arguably the entire class isn't that well suited for PVP.
Thats a first, no need to be anxious, Destiny 2 is pretty chill, get two people you're cool with, Fireteam-up and have fun times.
did good science tonight. gunslinger is bottom tier gahbage and the sidearm meta is real.
hope mida lives forever because its free outplay

By Dark PhaZe Go To Posthttps://trials.report/report/ps/DY_nastyIVCheck who I played with tho 😂
dat hard carry lol
My (lame) excuse is that I was the guy usually guarding a plant site alone and hadn't yet learned how to effectively survive in those situations since it was my first time on that map.
In my defense, I suck.
I'll have runs of going 1.35KD over the last 25 matches and then undo it all by going 0.85KD over the next 25 matches. I'm the most borderline 1.0KD player you ever seen.

being fair, being thrown into trials on that map, especially if you haven't played a lot of bomb, can be a real mind fuck
even more if you've never seen a team come around a corner with 4 midas--you'll think you got hit by a celestial nighthawk with that "one shot" death

I never played the map before, either. I wish I had played a bit more Competitive ahead of time.
And yea, everyone was rocking MIDAs 🙄
One time I was like "oh I should probably pull out a SR to get more range..." and it was the trashiest trash trash garbage can SR ever. The RoF was so slow 😂

does infusing an exotic into a legendary only carry the mod across when the slot is empty?
Wasted my stompees :(
Infused them so I could equip the celesetial nighthawk, which I presume is terrible in PvP

By DY_nasty Go To PostMods don't carry at all I thoughtInfusing a piece of equipment with a mod into another piece of equipment with a mod will raise the base power level (power without mod) to whatever the other equipment's power level with the mod was.
raid reset again
its around this time that ppl start getting really exclusive with this shit lol
"it's been two weeks--how do you die more than once?"

102 to 20-something on Control. I always feel guilty the few times I'm able to carry a team. Knowing karma, I'm about to get stomped in this next game.
EDIT: lol, of course the next game is Supremacy

they should change the lore of some of these factions
"prepare for all wars, everywhere, always"
vs
"niga fuck earth"
and
"lets create a monarchy in the tower!!!"

I think byf dropped the FWC lore vid recently too. It's the kinda shit where I don't even get mad at bungie for not forcing it into the game - FWCs background could run 3 or four seasons.
