Iron banner ridding itself of power level requirement is terrific. Not sure about Rift...think I was on a break when that was played during D1. Happy for a change but may not be very solo friendly.

Bungie so overworked right now that they are releasing trailers the day of content release apparently.
TBH the 3.0 stuff is farrrr more work for a season they've typically done. Wouldn't be shocked if Lightfall is delayed as a result.

trials is hilarious only because you can see the exact point in planning where Bungie stopped giving a fuck

Not sure how to feel about it overall so far, not as game changing as Void 3.0, but it's growing on me with the right builds. The biggest head scratcher for me is the loss of melting point for Titan...only debuff ability for the entire Titan class. Turning Phoenix Dive into its own thing was really dumb...it was never used that much even when it was essentially on zero cool down + rift on bottom tree, so to give it a 1 minute cooldown *and* replace healing rift is just incredibly strange decision wise.
Still, really digging the slow catalyst and solar integrations that some of the exotics are getting. The same should be done to some void weapons.
Haven't touched PVP yet. Top tree dawn got stronger probably, and hunter will be in a good spot.

Titans definitely have debuffs to go around still. They just can't do one through solar. In PVP that melee is a nuke tho
Warlocks are fine they just have to pick something to be good at instead of naturally being good at everything lol
The fact people cry about well losing overshield or Phoenix Dive is wild to me.

Loving Rift and the new map tbh. The cadence to the matches just feel good compared to something like control where mf'ers are just spawning all the time, often behind you.

warlocks complained for 2 weeks and get instant sweeping buffs
void hunters get nerfed, complain, and get nerfed again with no further comment lmao

Thats cause they knee-capped an entire super/attunement - Daybreak gets 3 strokes and doenst extend on kills, its not even really a roaming super anymore.
they know they fucked up and making amends, still needs work.

I mean Daybreak was broken at launch so it had 5 years of terror, they had to come back and do something about it at some point, but with them folding Destiny 3 into Destiny 2 the expected reset of a new game didn't happen

This stuff probably already sitting in aspects and fragments to be released as content during slow seasons lol.

Here's the eye-opening stat: "In Control, the skill disparities on a team can be stark—over 50% of matches have a skill disparity of 900 or more between best and worst player, which is so significant that the outcome is already known before a single shot is fired."

Mannnnnn
The skill number being referred to here is an internal stat that Bungie tracks, which seemingly takes account of everything from kills, deaths and round wins, to loadouts (right down to the mods you might have equipped) and reaction times. It's a 2,000-point scale, and Bungie says that "once you get to a difference of 600 there is basically zero chance for the lower-skilled player to ever win a 1v1 conflict".I've said the bolded so many times to myself. I wasn't just being asked to carry less experienced players, I was carrying guys who legit had no concept of how to play the game at the menu screen.
also lol

Tutorials that do anything other than the very basics everything else is based on are often useless, tbh. Assuming the tutorial is absolutly 100% perfect, the only players that would go through and pay attention to them are the same ones that would go outside the game to get the same information. It's not helping new guys.
Having unintuitive mechanics/stats along with it being very difficult/impossible to effectively experiment with them at the player's own pace greatly inhibits the kind of self-discovery that helps players quickly improve their knowledge level.
However, a tutorial or even just loading screen quick tips would help with explaining the optimal strategy for each game type. That's a low effort way to educate the player base to how to be better at the PvP mode.
