I don't think there is a time limit or anything, so you can just stop playing but keep the game running at where you are at. D1 didn't have checkpoints, I don't think, so if you left the raid and came back later, you had to start at the beginning again.
chances are ifwe cant get itdone overa weekend it aint getting done by the checkpoint time
also, does anyone know if crucible drops still go by equipped light levels rather than analyzing your highest light level stuff?
that'd be so huge for QOL--being able to equip lower level weapons in crucible while still gaining the max light level based on your equipment

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostAR's are the new nastyWas telling you that last night!
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostAR's are the new nastyYou trippin trippin
ARs are good early on when people haven't found the god guns. Was the same in D1 at the beginning before they over-adjusted and nerfed ARs out of the game.
With a counter-balance mod, SMGs are deadly. I'm using Riskrunner, that thing is an absolute beast. If someone hits you with any arc damage, you'll tear them to shreds.
There are a few great PRs too. The Suros PR "Last Perdition" is fantastic. I wonder if there's a good kinetic PR with High Caliber Rounds

Work means that I won't be raid ready. I knew I should have taken YouTube/ twitch streamer as my career path.
So there must be raid checkpoints right?
No functional adult can seriously be expected to sit there for 8 hours without a break.

Bon.
Had no idea these raids were so huge. Was wondering why there was only one but that would explain it.

right lol
Yes. The raids are what truly set Destiny apart from anything else in the fps space, they are vast, complex, incredibly rewarding and frustrating in equal measure - a single slip up from one of your six fireteam members could be the difference between progression and bountiful loot and a complete wipe that sends you back an hour or more.
With regards to check points, the hardest part is getting g all those people back in to go again. Here is where the PC will be beneficiary of having lfg sites ready to go.

Read a review that essentially said "This one is for the fans; there is little that will attract new players."
Too bad. I was on the fence.

Hmmm.
By Phoenix RISING Go To PostRead a review that essentially said "This one is for the fans; there is little that will attract new players."Did you like the story campaigns from the main team Halo games? Then you'll like the story mode in this game.
Too bad. I was on the fence.
Did you like non-vehicle PvP in the Halo games and wish it had Borderlands-like weapons and abilities? Then you will like the PvP in Destiny 2.
Do you like doing dungeon runs in WoW or other MMOs but now want to try it with similar-to-Halo gunplay and Borderlands-like abilities instead? Then Destiny 2 is worth trying out.
Do you absolutely hate gear grinds of any kind? Then stay away unless you are willing to buy Destiny 2 for just the story mode.

I don't think there's a comparable FPS out there. The others seem... lacking in features, quality, and general shit to do.

- an actual story
- all of the QOL improvements from TTK onward
- far more diversity in regards to weapon models/gun types
if your only impression of destiny was a rental and run through of the first game at launch, destiny 2 would be a massive massive upgrade

Yeah, it's not for me then. I only played the first two Halo games. Never played an MMO or Borderlands. I prefer PvE and yes, gear grinds suck.
Thanks for the help.
The PvE is still really good, but to get the most out of it (raids and nightfalls), there is definitely a gear grind.
i never spoil raids
ppl can tell me how a few mechanics work once i'm in there but the mystery is a big part of the fun

By Smokey Go To PostI'd like to get to ~275 before tryingRaids fees you gear constantly. You'll jump approximately 10 levels just participating usually.
I've only been doing Adventures and Missions on Earth so far
I'm at 233 as of last night so should be at 270 relatively soon.
Need to finish the main story as well which should get me there.

If 260 is the raid recommended power, then you should be able to heavily contribute at 256. Any lower, though, and you suffer from "exponential penalties" to your damage and defense vs the enemies.
By DY_nasty Go To PostIf you haven't already, beat the campaign. A lot opens up when you do.Yup. More milestones (which gives "powerful" gear) in addition to the exotic weapon quests.
By reilo Go To PostShoutout to Kibs for running through the endgame with me. The last bit was some top tier shit. That second to last level has two of my 3 favorite sequences in the story.
