By reilo Go To PostlolHunter is all about situational control in PvP. Titans got some good area control, Warlocks are all about laying directly into you with abilities. Hunters can cheap shit the fuck out of just about anything.
Grenade? Direct Hit
Melee? Direct Hit
Guy is down to 2% health, the dude jumps backs, reloads and one shot kills me with his shotgun smh
That's PVP rn as a Hunter
The dodge is kinda misleading. Its to spam melee abilities EXCEPT if you've got something like a special debuff 1-shot grenade launcher on hand (they're stupid powerful, but people ain't up on that wave yet). The throwing knives have decent area of effect given that they should actually be capable of. May as well consider them precision grenades on a 20 second cooldown if you're hustling right - and with the way people bunch up to teamshoot? It turns tides quick.
Nightstalkers are able to do shit that no other class can do - cloak off dodge. If you've ever been dodging properly in D1, its the same concept. Change direction, break line of sight. Now? It gives instant cloak off dodge. That puts who ever is shooting you straight into a guessing game. Run, flank, drop a smoke melee to disorient and basically cripple and you don't even need to be there to know they're dead within the next 3 seconds. I don't even think they can jump out, use radar, or benefit from the aim assist while smoked.
Arcstrider is... if you've got sufficient gun skill to shit on people as is, if you're able to proc the extended melee reliably, you're straight OP. Not even fucking around. Its stupid. You can't die normally, you feed on murder momentum, you do shit that its impossible to guard against up close, all your grenades force people to move exactly how you want them to.... its stupid. But you gotta be a gawd to begin with. But its still stupid. Its like if you ALWAYS had a nerfed version of bladedancer super ready to go. That's how dumb it is once you get cooking.
It just feels like such a skill-heavy class. Like, the throwing knife is dope... if you can land it consistently. It's a super high-reward class but man is it frustrating sometimes. Two direct hits with melee shouldn't require a third hit, imo.

the threemelee thing is a habit formed from D1 and its something that many people are unlearning right now. two melees used to unfuck any situation, but now you're forced -harshly- to not do that. but they give you plenty of ways to settle that situation compared to before (where its was basically melee twice if you don't have the shotgun alternative)
a hunter without a handcannon, sidearm, shotgun, or smg is nekkid imho
also, supers aren't free kills anymore and i fucking love it. they're a skill, only as good as the person using it. if you've been smacking someone around all match, their flaming sword or defender shield shouldn't make you turn and run - the outplay potential is still very much there.
i'm darkseid on these streets
I legit underestimate dodge. Like I'm sure it's good, especially with Arcblade, but I just can't find the energy to do it.
By Professor Beef Go To PostI legit underestimate dodge. Like I'm sure it's good, especially with Arcblade, but I just can't find the energy to do it.arc is a horrible introduction to hunter in d2
its great once you understand spacing and how its slightly different. but while you're learning the game and getting shit-tier equipment and abilities one at a time? its like picking up a fighting game for the first time and trying to main zangief.
By DY_nasty Go To Postarc is a horrible introduction to hunter in d2Oh I'm sure (although grapplers are who I went with when I decided to start taking fighters seriously so that may be a bad example :V), but I'm mainly talking dodge in general. I ditched Arc as soon as Gunslinger was available, and I'll probably do it again once I can get Void since that's what I rolled with at the end of D1. Maybe Slinger is just a bad class to use with dodging, since there's no really good benefit to it unlike with Arc.

the dodge to reload is.... there's only certain weapons where it shines. i mean, if you're out fucking around with half a clip, should you really expect to win that engagement in the first place? dodge/reload isn't ever going to reliably turn a situation where you're clearly unprepared for a gunfight around in your favor. (pve is entirely different of course)
the problem with introducing hunters with arcstrider is that the melee doesn't dramatically change how you approach anything until you're further into the game. even then, it doesn't 'give' you any real advantage - it only accelerates your momentum a lot .
By Smokey Go To PostKnocked out the Nightfall, twice. Not bad at all once you get a rhythm down. Now do it with five minutes remaining to get the Rat King's Crew weapon (once you are on that step of the quest).
I played a couple of matches with a Does Not Compute SR as my primary and the Sunshot as my backup for close encounters. Maybe you're onto something DY, went a lot better last couple of matches, felt like I was well equipped for long and short range combat.
By reilo Go To PostDope. Picked up a Lincoln Green, Play of the Game, and Pentatonic-48 just now. Good rolls.Lincoln Green is perfect for PvP. Solid Pulse Rifle for any situation.
I...don't know any of the names of these weapons tbh
You giving me + over what I already got equipped? Cool, lets go.

By Smokey Go To PostI…don't know any of the names of these weapons tbhThat's basically how I roll until I (eventually) hit the hard cap or do PvP. I keep one of every legendary around in case I will like it in those future situations.

By reilo Go To PostAlright this combo I'm rocking with is nice. Might go Sunshit Handcannon for secondary.
Haha.
Also I need to remind myself to trigger PRs more than just aim. It's not a SR and I kinda get too caught up placing the shot and just letting auto-aim do more of the work.

Raining exotics in D2...RNG seems less stingy this is good - kills the loot grind a bit but, at least the game respects your time. Now I know I am addicted because the game is good, not because of a compulsion to chase the fashion
i can't nail down time to kill reliably for shit lol
and man, that field of view slider is gonna completely change the game for arcstriders. shit ain't even fair

Just got to 20. Is it that easy by design? Feel like I'm not even halfway through the story yet (just rescued Cayde).
By Professor Beef Go To PostJust got to 20. Is it that easy by design? Feel like I'm not even halfway through the story yet (just rescued Cayde).well, yeah
if you go straight at the campaign and nothing else, you'll have to jump a few level gates by doing an activity here and there. its pretty straightforward.
Can you not pick and choose your strikes?
Would like to do them all once before replaying any of them, but can't find a way to play them outside of the playlist

D2 being stingy on the exotics for me.
Also I hopped into Crucible for a few matches and got WAXED. matched up with brehs with the same clan tags each time and they ate real good

My crucible experience has been pretty good. With more grouping I had a couple of non super quads. Storm caller ionic blink is good. Want to rock dawn blade but the super is terrible
Haha, a streamer has 500 up/down and PSN is downloading the Destiny 2 patch at like 3 mb/s. Will PSN ever not be garbage?

By Smokey Go To PostNahThat's why I said supervisor. :p
A artist slipped that in trying to be slick
By reilo Go To PostI'm ~215 so maybe a weekend? How long is the raid?
probably 8 hours the first time through going by traditional raid averages
if the nightfalls are anything to go by, this shit could be the hardest raid ever though so...
By DY_nasty Go To PostI'm close but eh
I wouldn't have time until this weekend
thinking either this weekend or the weekend after..the weekend after might be safer in terms of being sure people are 280
By Kibner Go To PostGlad I'm not an art supervisor because I would have never caught that.
Who the hell keeps random tabs on what symbols the alt right are using? Curious if the artist that tried to sneak em in will get axed ...
It's still mind blowing to me that a fucking frog is now a hate symbol.
