By DY_nasty Go To Postno one plays pvp on pc lol population is trash compared to console. so basically there's just who is grinding bounties (when shit is better in the beginning of the week) and then its the masochists like yourself.Nah people still trying for some shit like Redrix since it's supposedly the new hotness come next season.
all the long quests are dried up, its content dry season, and the meta has been set. i dont even blame bungie for mm on pc
Only way they can get new or even old people is some fresh content free for them. So many people tried Destiny 2 when it first hit and probably wouldn't come back without them being like "FREE SHIT."
if you're even able to grind for redrix, you definitely qualify as a masochist
casual play doesn't even exist in destiny on pc. its not even remotely the same...

By i can get you a toe Go To PostNah they got like insane valor bonuses these last weeks.Look at Bungie sprinkling a little crack last week to get you to play, how nice of them
that's what im saying. people only play crucible to 'get' shit. destiny 2 pvp is just not attractive to casuals. you can't just mindlessly cod or fortnite it. its legit stressful to play lol. you have to either be forced to play it for progression or you're only in there to enforce meta on the havenots (because you don't even have to shoot people anymore).
who has ever played destiny pvp to have fun and chill out?
there's no middle class really in this pvp. no hamster wheel, just a finish line. you hit it you either show off that you did or you go do something else

I, at least personally, had a lot of fun in late-stage Destiny 1 PVP when we grouped up together.
Destiny 2... ? Man, if I say never I don't think I'd be lying to myself.

Its because Bungie is full of shit when it comes to Crucible especially they're hilarious "but power creep" crap.
But a broken weapon every season is chill? Super mod meta is chill? Grenade launchers on primary and secondary is chill? Jotunn as an on spawn Rocket Launcher is chill? One Eyed Mask is chill?
lmfao they haven't a clue what they're doin tbh.

I dunno what level of hell I'm in but it doesn't matter what I play, even Mayhem, if I'm not pulling a 5.0 kd or greater out of my ass I'm taking an L. Everything is lol as a result. Still eat but winning is the biggest laugho.

is this your first box level stomp? or Bungie game? They've always given away older content for free as the game proceeds. it's also common in MMOs, nobody pays for the last expansion in WoW anymore when the new one comes out.
really the choice is perpetually lock something behind a DLC paywall for years or loosen it up so that those of us that played it early have people to play against later on.
also lots of changes coming in, forges now director-launched https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/48188

its definitely a shit show
you certainly see on console certain guys grinding for things...i'm not saying it doesn't happen, but there's always a good chunk of casual/good players just kind of trying to win matches
pc pvp is like 30% mountaintop recoveries, 50% top 1% pvp'ers, 20% casuals in regards to lobby makeup
Its kind of awful...but the loading + 60+fps and alt tab make it unmatched for PVE.
I'll be really happy to just sit on Ps5 60 fps version with instant loading whenever that drops, but that's probably a ways off.
In Season of the Undying, pinnacle weapons will become ritual weapons. They will no longer have special perks and will instead be curated rolls. A previous article incorrectly showed two new pinnacle weapons. The good news is you will be getting three ritual weapons for each of the ritual activities: Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit. Here’s the Destiny Dev Team on why we made this difficult decision and some information on upcoming perk changes.
Destiny Dev Team: The decision to stop creating extremely powerful pinnacle weapons was made for a variety of reasons. The first was that the band in which “pinnacle” perk can exist is actually quite small, and most of them far exceeded the efficacy they should have been at. Another issue is that they cause problems in the player ecosystem, particularly in the case of the Crucible pinnacle weapons. Due to the nature of PvP and PvE, anything that works well in PvP is likely going be extremely effective in PvE as well. This forces players into the Crucible if they want the “best” loadouts. Even the title of “pinnacle” set a variety of unrealistic expectations. Rather than being the absolute height of Legendary power, they were supposed to be interesting novelties to chase.
lmao I'm schleep
definitely skipping Shadowkeep--streamers really got their way huh
edit: damage dealing perks like killclip nerfed smhhhhhh
By DY_nasty Go To PostThe streamers the main ones crying lol
No more letting their gear play for them oh the humanity
loot game with the pinnacle loot perk being a nerfed kill clip lol aite
they throwing a lot in the trash for the sake of balance and yet your standard LFG group/matchmaking squad struggles on minagerie let alone RAIDS so who are these nerfs for exactly
we are not gonna downplay recluse being the answer to everything at its slot cmon. any time something gets close to being as dominant as that, it gets nerfed hard. maybe its whole weapon type. i'm surprised they didn't just turn the old pinnacle weapons into exotics, keep the process, and just have the weapons to follow be at the efficacy they want. they've done it before...
and the nerfs to damage perks was coming because bungie can't design encounters in a reasonable way anymore. i don't even think most enemies are meant to be as tanky as they are - they're only that way because they need a challenge for the best out of the community. you're talking menagerie when there's casuals in gambit who don't even know how to approach ogres.
i bet even on their data collection side, they have no way to tell what any random group of players is capable of. thats probably why the menagerie exists in the first place

I'm glad pinnacles are gone that shit was stupid and the quests for them were fucking terrible.
Also Gambit should have just had premade loadouts, stock weapons and regularly timed ammo drops. That way you're not dealing with some OP shit every season whether it's a linear fusion, Truth, etc.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postloot game with the pinnacle loot perk being a nerfed kill clip lol aiteLeast RAIDS is about success in the encounter for the loot. Some of the pinnacles been about indirectly sabotaging your squad. Then there's the power creep and how useless they make other options.

Glad to see HCs getting nerfed basically. Been complaining for a while now that HCs are far too effective at range especially a last crit kill. I'd be just shooting AoS at some low level health folks at bullshit ranges and getting the kill too so it's not like I'm salty. Shit was just dumb.

6 things to boost now instead of 3. Mobility, Resilience, Recovery, Strength, Discipline and Intellect.
Wow I had to just stop the vid for a while after "you gotta grind for a piece of gear with something maxed out." Wait wut. So instead of maxing out stats and grinding to do that we gotta RNG a ton for a specific piece of gear again? No no no no no.
it gets deeper and more.... idk. i don't think people realize that the gating simply moved from weapons to armor/builds
especially with the artifact stuff. they're trying to force more roles onto people and its gonna wall off a LOT of players in ways that they haven't seen before

Are they making design decisions off poorly made engagement/ time-investment metrics? Because I can't fathom any other reason to make these decisions in a looter game that doesn't drop (good) loot nearly often enough for those decisions to be enjoyable for a wide audience.

Because I can't fathom any other reason to make these decisions in a looter game that doesn't drop (good) loot nearly often enough for those decisions to be enjoyable for a wide audience.i think they just decided to go in a different direction in order to stop competing in a losing race against what their community can do. for the longest time they wanted to keep pace with what the 1% was able to accomplish and they'd never win with how bungie develops
with this.... man, they're redirecting progression in a huge way. by forcing players to invest more time in their build versus a certain weapon, they can smooth things out across the board
the amount of time investment for multiple builds would be insane. shit, having two top tier set ups for pvp and pve alone would be a crazy amount of work compared to before. so instead of chasing weapons and that just being the end point, you're making players sacrifice here and there and choose defined strengths for somehow more effort
considering where the game was headed, i'm not against this shit. its not going to level the playing field at all either. oppression will look different, and be more complicated to reach.
and pve is gonna have some actual gates for the first time. gonna need some real lumbar support
My biggest issue (and I know I gotta finish the vid) so far is that I still loathe the idea of not grinding towards something more tangible. I was hoping with 2.0 you would grind to make gear more your style or mats to put into gear. I don't particularly enjoy farming non-exotics. Menagerie was a step in the right direction. I was hoping for more of that but with armor too not just what weapon you want and some of the stats by sacrificing runes.

Its also a good halfway meeting point to approaching something resembling a genuine RPG system, like you said, its not just a slap on an exotic and your best boss-melting strat anymore, they saw to that by murdering my baby Lunafaction shoes in cold blood.
They are also shrinking the damage numbers , so no more 99999999 damage on the screen.
There is also gameplay of the Nightfall Ordeal stuff which has its own bizarre requirements.
Interesting times ahead, though, not sure this was the right time to open the gates to millions of unsuspecting new light noobs, I guess time will tell.
A lot of this RNG-based gear grind would be fine if something like a Strike would drop roughly 5-10x more purples than they currently do.
By Kibner Go To PostA lot of this RNG-based gear grind would be fine if something like a Strike would drop roughly 5-10x more purples than they currently do.I miss strike specific drops because they were actually aesthetically interesting and it was like getting a piece of the boss afterwards.
strike specific stuff was cool too because a lot of it was really rare but you knew there was only one way to get it which made the way they recycled content easier to swallow. How many times have we done these pitiful d2 strikes with nothing cool or unique. Under these new changes I wouldn't mind them adding more really really rare drops. Give me stuff not just to work for, but maybe to just have in the back of my mind.
Eh yall really overstating the gear grind. You're essentially looking for 3 complete armor sets with "good enuff" stats to masterwork. You won't have PvE and Pvp sets anymore. You'll have 3 strong sets : an arc, void, and solar set. Because mods can't be depleted you'll just slot stuff in and out depending on the activity.
The build depth thing is overstated. Like...use 90 percent of your mod energy for a stronger nova bomb or use 50 percent of your super energy to shit out a heavy ammo brick lmao none of that is going to be used. What will be used is the mods allowing you to damage the end game champion shields. Aside from that it'll be business as usual.

Overlooking the Artifact and it impact on your build and the fact that majority of damage-dealing mods have been nerfed whilst trash ads have been low-key buffed.

artifact mods are known now--for the most part, it's w/e...theres a couple of things you have/want to equip for certain nightfall modifiers such as a mod that lets you shoot through new hive barriers
The fact they're turning super meter into a resource instead of a timer is big enough imo.
a lot of people gonna be lost as hell when they throw hammers to a bunch of zeros popping up. I don't think the depth is beyond anyone itt - but lfg? Those motherfuckers gonna be asking for actual resumes and having interviews.

By The Frankman Go To PostWhelp here I go again… willingly into The Grind.
remember that shadowkeep will drop literally all loot at 750 on tuesday
It varies quite a bit. Osiris is so bad that it actually damaged anything that it touched. Forsaken on the other hand was arguably the best Destiny has ever been.
also to be honest, i think another reason to get rid of new pinnacles outside of balance issues is because it requires keeping the mode around to get them, and i really feel bungie is just easing people into the retirement of Glory entirely eventually (with whatever replaces Trials being the competitive mode that comes around regularly).
Making it so it's a weapon that exists in the pool but just has a guaranteed curated roll means they can kill whatever mode it's attached to without much fuss.

By DY_nasty Go To Postmods are seasonal lmao foh bungie
Where did you hear this? Though I figured it would be something like that, otherwise it would be weird for people who come in future seasons. Question is if its just the unique seasonal artifact mods that will disappear or if you'll even lose the stuff we've had before such as enhanced hand cannon loader.
Anyway, deleted all my eververse loot, all my mods down to having only 1, cleared some vault space, then deleted Destiny 2 Blizz app to download Destiny 2 steam app. Hopefully it's a smooth transition. No time for Shadowkeep but I'll be watching vids and weighing in on changes.
