Fabled isn't too bad it's anything above that that's the real shitshow. Plus side too you get recluse in the bargain if you never did it and it's still strong af especially in PVE. We'll see if it stays that way.

Comp stays the dumbest shit I've ever played. I dont need ranks but I still need wins for points. The fact that supers are a thing in here is the dumbest shit. I hate that it's still gonna be a thing. It's trash as fuck.
We want to create some variety in the PvP experience from Season to Season, and one way we’re doing that is to bench some maps for the Season. While they’re out of rotation, if time allows we also hope to improve how they play by tweaking spawn areas, ammo spawns, and overall structure so they return better than before. The first four to be removed from all playlists are:
Dead Cliffs
Legion’s Gulch
Retribution
Solitude
We also made a pass on all playlists, removing some maps from playlists where they don’t shine. Equinox is now only in Scorched, Mayhem, and Breakthrough, and Firebase Echo is only in Supremacy, Mayhem, and Breakthrough.
While we are removing a few maps, we are also introducing Widow’s Court, Twilight Gap, and the new map, Fragment.

Rank Systems Update: Streaks and Floors
Glory, Valor, and Infamy streaks have been made more resilient. Instead of resetting your streak, losses will now reduce your Valor and Infamy streaks by 1, and your Glory streak by 2. You can still lose Glory, but if your rank is at or below Fabled, you can’t lose Glory if doing so would drop you below that rank (each rank through Fabled acts as a floor for Glory).
They could never get PVP right, so they decided to "fix" the issue by at least making the PVP pinnacle weapons available to anyone with thumbs willing to spend enough time at it. Impossible to really lose rank and you get points str8 up from just having played matches at reset.
Aside from at least balancing the game more often, they should be adding playlists that are "Snipers only, Grenade Launchers only", etc. Maybe not for everything--pulse rifles, smg's etc are a bit extreme, but stuff like everyone trying to force themselves to be a sniper or grenade launcher whore in quickplay does nothing but bring the experience down for solo's. PVP has largely become a glorified quest completion arena as is because of this.

Really though total deranking should never be allowed in a ranking system, and them hooking it into the underpinning skillmatcher to have confidence bonus makes way more sense. The current system basically said you could go from competent back to eating your controller mid-game which makes no sense. Making Fabled the floor will make the skill curve look more like a standard distribution which is waaay more correct. The confidence boost makes it so the that the start of the season isn't a weeks long buffet for the megaskilled peeps.
Making it so your streak isn't obliterated on a single loss is the same way. It discourages continued play, so the fix makes a lot of sense.

Far as the changes to comp those are improvements but Glory shouldn't have been a thing. The matchmaking has to be rigged in order to get people up to ranks they should just never actually be. Plus it's always got shady shit like DDOSing individual players because of the lack of dedis.

Recluse is a bitch but I think my most harrowing experience was up against Duke44 ironically. First shot would flinch me out the fight - second was just free.

Closest thing I have to it is the arcstrider dodge for the damage resistance and tracking drop. Biggest adjustment I've had to make is how lag effects aim assist on PC. I'm not sure what's going on under the hood but when a connection is bad I can't even count on my reticle to stay attached. Could be on my side but it's definitely jarring.

Bygones always been really good if you can land your shots. Pulses in general still nice especially on those large maps. Redrix, Last Perdition, Bygones and Blast Furnace all got their perks.

I think a lot of stuff was kinda rolled into one larger label. My biggest "welcome to PC" moment was realizing that peoples' vertical tracking was on an entirely different level. Getting above someone was typically a fatality on console. Not the case at all anymore. Shit, PC it's actually easier to make people miss in the open or in a wide flank because the babbys first FPS aim assist is gone and replaced by this different sauce. I can actually make people miss by strafing and dancing whereas being anywhere but attached to a wall meant you ate every shot no matter what on console.
Also range is just weird on PC. Handcannons and snipers work under a different ruleset imo. I'm an average sniper on a good day on console but on PC I'm a fucking bully and pulling off shit I'd never even attempt before.
Range is f'ed on PC especially. It's why when you see a MIDA or Jade Rabbit in the wild you're like "holy fuck someone didn't get the memo."

Countdown is the worst when you're questing too. Just a waste of time. I was just doing some rumbles and lol at them being on shit like Convergence and Bannerfall. The people in charge of Crucible just whew.

Yeah but the other point of that clip was the spawn itself too. Right in line of sight. So many maps spawns are shit like that. People can just snipe farm too.
I'm really not convinced that quickplay is connection based only. Every game is just whole other level shit. My comp games are on average more chill than this.

You'll probably want to play more after I don't recall the default drop being the most optimal for PVP. I even have multiple redrixes depending on map. Got a ranged out one. Got a handling one since it feels slow. lol. Kept the others in case of buffs to other shit. (I have tons it loves to give me it on rank ups)
