By Wengward Go To PostLuke Smith. What a career this guy has had. From internet troll to AAA game designer. Really is quite impressive.
By reilo Go To PostIt looks like Destiny!
feels more like an expansion than a sequel, yeah
By data Go To PostThat did absolutely nothing for me.Same.
Also I'm really glad WoW never blew up their NPCs do in Destiny
like who the fuck cares about the dude who gives you a daily quest
like who the fuck cares about the dude who gives you a daily quest
Who the fuck cares about prematch dialogue data
that's who
that's who
By NinjaFridge Go To PostRaid, Nightfall and Trials matchmaking?Nightfall, sure why not
"You got characters that talk to you"
*some dude pointing a sniper with their face covered and says one throwaway line"
lol
New supers look cool. Captain America aping, doe.
Solo campaign looking promising as hell though.

im glad we're at a point where developers know 4v4/5v5 is the sweet spot for pvp
For awhile mp was ruined by casuals who just wanted large player counts for no reason

By reilo Go To PostIt is for fucking Destiny
what a low bar lmao
By reilo Go To PostIt is but we all knew that this is the game they should've made from the beginning lol
i mean they're announcing fast travel and clans in 2017 like...
this is embarrassing.
By Trey Go To Posti mean they're announcing fast travel and clans in 2017 like…Embarrassing if the game wasn't big as fuck without it
this is embarrassing.
By Trey Go To Posti mean they're announcing fast travel and clans in 2017 like…Which other premier FPS does everything that they're trying to accomplish? Open(ish) worlds (plural), raids, PVP this large, strikes, etc? Neither COD nor Titanfall come close in content.
this is embarrassing.
This is more akin if WoW met a FPS.
By Smokey Go To PostThis seems more expansion than sequel imo
that's how they're presenting it because that's what it is
This looks whhaaaack. Standing by my decision to abandon this franchise, they don't have any direction, looks like a slight improvement over their mediocre game.
They were saying stuff like we have A new raid
I mean
Isn't that expected in a sequel? Further it sounds like there's only going to be 1?

By Smokey Go To PostThey were saying stuff like we have A new raid1 in the stand alone game and then more added through expansions. Same as the first game.

I thought they renamed it to Blizzard App?
I'm genuinely shocked. Wonder why only Destiny is on Bnet but not other Activision titles

Guided gaming could be awesome. Kinda what eve does.
Not sure how it'll be implemented and policed though.

how does any of this entice people disenchanted with d1, or never gave the franchise a try?
you talk about a 4v4 PVP focus but don't detail how you actually want competitive balance and design to work.
you talk about clans but don't detail other more pressing and genre standard social features.
no details on mission design philosophy and how engine improvements have allowed for greater flexibility in content delivery.
it just feels like more of the same, which is fine for fans of destiny, but doesn't communicate to me a clear sense of direction going forward.
Bungie will no doubt expound on the game over the coming months, but it's just weirdly underwhelming to be told of such an ambitious game, but all they have to offer is shit that should've been in the first game day one. you want a pat on the back that it took you 4 years, 2 expansions, and a sequel to finally deliver a feature-basic experience?

eh I didn't even want to like this game but yall are reaching, it's done most of what I asked without getting into the smaller details
Cinematic story with actual direction
Exploration worth a shit
Orbit no longer a thing
Ways to group for tougher content
4 v 4 crucible and balances (literally makes crucible playable for me) unlike the shit show that is destiny crucible right now (6 v 6)
"well how can yall expect to be patted on the back for including features that should have been day 1" as if there are others shooters on the market that are even trying to do what destiny does
keep holding out for borderworlds with a multiplayer component that's actually good I guess?
