On the other hand, even though the game is leaked in certain regions, CD Projekt RED's PR guy contacted our PR guy and said that NO REVIEW COPY is going out until a day before release!
IDK how yall feel about that. It's usually a sign of something going wrong, but I'll wait and see.
I'm scheduled to review that game, so in terms of quality-of-life, I'm fine with it. We don't compete directly with the IGNs, PCGamers, and GameSpots, etc of the world, but I'd hate to be in that category. The arms race to get out the first review would be unbearable to me. Witcher is a game that I like to take my time with.
It's pre-sold 1 million copies already. That cross-platform thirst is to strong for devs to concentrate on PC exclusivity. Holding us all back.
I also don't pay attention to bribed reviews so none of that affects me. If a game sounds interesting I'll pick it up after maybe watching 1 or 2 gameplay videos.

When I'm done with Witcher 3, I'm going to hand the rest over to my team. No more big releases down the pipeline. Gonna concentrate on my backlog, including games that have been in the shrinkwrap for years.

One of the benefits of not looking at or reading any information about a game before you play it is that you don't have to worry about whatever it looked like "before." The game is what it is, and what it could have been can be derived from actually playing it rather than some prototype.

I tried to play AssCreed back in the day. Tried it for like 10-15 minutes, decided that Tenchu was more fun, and never played it again.
I did buy the slave ship game (Freedom Cry?) as well as the creole/mulatto female protagonist edition (Liberation?). I will be playing those since they are relevant to my research interests.

RE4 wasn't even my game of that month. It's a good enough game, but it flushed the survival horror part of RE down the toilet.
