I poured hours into D3 looking to complete some sets/items to augment my DoT/Pet WD...build isn't viable.

Bought Devil May Cry 3 again. The process of going from Mission 1 all the way to the Centipede boss is such a punch to the nads.

I'm on what feels like to me the climax of the game. I was given an A B or C choice.

Then I'll play a bit of online.

Destiny has taken some pretty significant strides lately, I'd wait until House of Wolves drops though if you want to jump back in as there will be a lot of new end-game content, pvp is getting a new reward system, grind is being cut in half in most ways this is the biggest reason to chill until a week before release, and the flood of new people will just make it more interesting all around. Once all the reveals are done dropping (next week), I'll post a heavy re-introduction writeup in the thread.

I'll try and give a rundown on all I've picked up, nuances and unspoken knowledge, regarding equipment, game modes, playstyles, upgrades etc. I dropped Destiny over Christmas because of all the big titles that dropped but as much as I loved all of those games, the only thing that really stuck after a hiatus was Destiny. The gunplay is dope and Bungie gradually getting their shit together helps a ton.

Right now, just know that I was repping SL&ENT hard all by my damn self in UnstableH20s stream during IB.

edit: regarding GTA Online, I'm sorry - but too little WAY too fucking late. I even put up with Battlefield's plsunderstand bullshit. I'm not going back. One of the worst online experiences I ever dealt with.

Here's the thing... Destiny's debut lines up basically with Diablo 3. Glaring issues, quality gameplay, communication issues between the community and devs. Those things all gradually picked up over time and strides were made in spite of big money pub stuff (auction house for d3, expansion lineup for destiny).

GTA5 took months to even give you shit that they promised with gameplay footage after the game was released. Locking online to push SP? Sure. MP comes out and millions couldn't even start the tutorial mission - let alone edit/create gametypes, do heists, party up, keep their own progress, etc? Naw. I'm not going to bite on someone re-releasing what should've been working and wasn't for months. All while cashing in on their in-game currency. Naw.

Honestly I found some decent value in Destiny, playing pretty regularly with a couple of friends, but it kind of ground to a halt when we got to raids where we had to organize big parties with no matchmaking.

I can understand that. At the same time... I don't think there are too many worse experiences in gaming than a shitty raid. They're a load of fun when things go well but when they don't, because people DO suck at aiming rockets, taking directions, staying alive in the face of trash mobs, it gets ugly and painful and depressing.

Weekly's getting matchmaking is okay - because in many cases people could already solo a weekly strike. PoE getting MM at some levels too is cool as well. But the high end stuff.... just shouldn't be suffered with randoms. It degrades the experience twice over.

Do we have to have this Destiny debate again?

This fucking Xenomorph. This stressful ass game.

There is something to be said about feeling empowered when getting a shinier and better weapon to deal with things in games. I thought I was badass as soon I got the flamethrower, and started to play more offensively: running whimsically through halls, throwing molotovs, and entering rooms with reckless abandon. This last go round took away all of my security, when the damn Xeno just took a couple of small steps back as I was using my flamethrower, charged me through the flames, and killed me when I got up. There was a brief moment when I knew I fucked up, just by the way it was staring at me. Back to stealth. Fuck all of that.

My love for Alien 1 is making shit a lot more tense. Devs are cruel for making fans crawl through the vents. lol.

Not to bring up past reviews, but I remember reading shit about how saves were like 30+ minutes apart, or some shit like that. The saves are more like 5 mins apart and there are a lot more than I would have thought. You just spend 30 minutes hiding under lockers and shit, not progressing.

This makes me wish we got a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake, that mixed it's design principals with this.

Had no idea that the best shooter of 2014 got DLC. It and Long War are on the list.

Only game I'm looking forward to is No Man's Sky. That shit still got me hyped.

i finally created my 3rd class for maximum grind and storage potential. shit is real. really real. fuck crota tho.

I was looking forward to Witcher 3, but can't really afford to blow money on it right now.

Still looking forward to No Man's Sky and the Guild Wars 2 expansion. The Witness as well, if that ever comes out.

I still like Beyond Earth, but maybe its because I go into PC games with zero hype and knowledge beforehand outside of Tropico 5.

Destiny has the best FPS controls I've ever used
It has the most intuitive menus I've ever navigated
The cleanest HUD I've ever seen in a game that needs one

Like The Order, certain sections of the studio did their jobs absolutely brilliantly, while others dropped the ball so badly, it prevents the game from going beyond even 6/10

Looks like Splatoon demo is out. Still not sure about this game, because half of the stuff I hear makes me want to leave it be, but the stuff I see makes me want to try. Guess I'll know better tonight
