i5 4690k + GTX 980
i7 4790k + GTX 970
This is mainly just for gaming at 1080p. I'm too much of a pleb right now to afford i7 + 980.

By DY_nasty Go To PostToukiden is such a great game. Makes me hurt for God Eater 2 but I know it won't be as good.played the demo. hate the combat
idk, feels like im playing an early ps2 game

some weapons aren't for everyone and change the entire way you go about stuff. Like... I won't touch fists with a 10ft pole, the sword is useless you know the combos and have enemy attack memorized, spear is the definition of meh, bow = lol (some people swear by it), and daggers are only good if you know how to maximize damage output enough make your hits hurt.
what do they have you fight in the demo anyways? i didn't like the game at all until the first manhunter fight
By DY_nasty Go To Postnever played the demo.first two chapters are in the demo and some quests.

Maybe I should try more weapons but I wasn't feeling the sword or chain and sickle.
the combat doesn't flow as well as I'd like it to. like I'm attacking standstill instead of moving towards my target.
By KingGondo Go To PostNew Mario Kart 8 DLC today.
Get hyped SLAENT-brehs.
Nah
By psychintellect Go To Postfirst two chapters are in the demo and some quests.Chain and Sickle is dope. But yeah... you ARE stationary for your standard attacks mostly, but your special attacks and combos are what give you invincibility frames, movement during combos, and damage potential. Chain and Sickle is one of my favorite weapons in the game - but its FAR from beginner friendly. The tutorials for the weapons help a lot, but there's still quite the curve for learning how to make them work best for yourself in game. If you aren't airborne for the larger Oni battles regularly, then you're not doing it right.

The Naginata is a damned good weapon too. Easy to use, hard to master.

yeah I have a MC near me but it doesn't fit my budget since i have to get a new mobo/psu as well. i'm basically building a new pc and just keeping storage/RAM

I'd probably go with the i7 and 970. The 3.5GB sux, but the card is still a beast. Since you're at 1080p you'll be fine for a while. You can OC it to 980 levels. It's very easy resell GPUs too...they hold their value.
By RBK Go To PostIt's one of the many benefits of being young.I really think that's it. ARPG's work for me aite. Tales games, yeah. Star Ocean... sometimes. But these RPG slow starts are brutal.
Attention span is shit now.
By DY_nasty Go To PostIt sucks but geez… I just can't stick old RPGs like I used to. This is depressing.Game in question?

By MagusKen Go To PostGame in question?just dancing through a bunch of them right now. xillia 2 probably hit the hardest because i just don't like most of the characters at-fucking-all and star ocean: tlh was a bitch because its slow start is a huge punch in the nuts

How so?
One of the reasons JRPGs have become so appealing to me recently is that they demand so little of your attention compared to other games.
Can just grind while I have a movie on. Or I'm talking to someone on Skype

By Retro Go To PostTrick is to multitask with RPGs.I'm used to just locking in and hammering in hours until completion. I don't think I would've got to the point where I could enjoy Graces otherwise.
Always got Netflix or Twitch open when I play one.
I'll try it though.
As soon as I'm done with this Toukiden kick.

1) Which mods/manual updates do I want for Wasteland 2, having only played one similar game before (I guess), Divinity: Original Sin?
2) How painless is it to play in Steam's Offline Mode? My internet is a mess at the moment :(

Still deep into gta v pc. I need to check the timestamp. I feel like whatever amount of hours I've put into it is when I start to lose focus with a SP game.
Is anybody playing ff14? I downloaded the expansion pack benchmark. Rekt it of course. But it seems interesting curious if anybody has messed with ff14 here.

Full of tedious ass shit like pretty much all MMO's really. Would have been all over it when I was twelve years old. Now its the type of shit that'll have the wife filing papers.
GTA V is the only next gen game out right now imo. That shit is on another level. First time playing it on PC and I'm legit shook by it.
I'm ready for Battlefront brehs

i actually never really had many issues with bf4 at launch besides occasional crashing and sound issues

Dirt Rally is really cool. Only had time for a few races but its well done so far. Apparently there is a bug where the co-driver voice doesn't come through so I had to go in blind on the tracks and fly off a mountain once or twice.
By psychintellect Go To PostGolden Week sale on PSN. Is Ground Zeroes worth 8 bucks?I had fun with it on PC. The main mission is really short (max 1.5 hours) but I thought the side ops were fun too and added replay-ability.
If any of you have ever wanted to get into DotA 2, this Thursday is your chance.
IceFrog is releasing a patch so large, that nobody who plays now will know what they're doing. So many of the changes are ridic.

TF2 is getting matchmaking! Hopefully this can revive interest in it because competitive TF2 has always been interesting to me but its such a small community that doesn't get support from Valve that I never even tried it out. I always just jumped server to server and lost interest once I started play CS GO.
I've played the beta
I don't like it. Progress is all shared between all team members, so it feels like individual player skill and game knowledge has less of an overall impact on the game compared to Dota2 and LoL
but depending on what you dislike in those games, I guess it could be more enjoyable

MOBAs I actually enjoyed:
Smite
Awesomenauts
Awesomenauts is underrated. My Issue with the major MOBAs are the lack of skill required. They play as flat, 2-d overhead limited-skill use games. Movement is stuck in a Starcraft feel. Smite and Awesomenauts at least add some more skill variables with limited FoV and platforming.
