If you guys haven't played Beyond: Two Souls yet… yeah, do that.

Waiting for the inevitable remaster on PS4. Liked it from the little I played on PS3...but i was also a fan of Heavy Rain.

Been messing with Elite:Dangerous on PC the last few days. It's been getting a ton of hype lately so I jumped in. A bit about the game http://www.elitedangerous.com/about/#stars

Milky Way is mapped 1:1. Tons of stuff you can do. The expansions will let you land on some planets as well. Ambitious as fuck concept. Picked up a HOTAS stick from Amazon a few days ago to use for it:


Taken back by how good it is with this stick. It took me a while to get used to the 360 degree nature of moving around in space. In fact I was fucked up for awhile after playing it the first time. Head was spinning. Never had that happen before. Ever since then I've been good though. Tons of systems to use in the game and I'm still wrapping my head around it all, but for a space junkie like me, feels like a game I've been waiting on for a long time. Supposed to be the defining title for the Oculus Rift DK2 set and I can believe it. I can imagine playing the game with that kit causing some panic attacks. If any of yall mess with PC and like space titles check it out. It's a bit steep to get in $75, and it's in Beta 1 now, but it is really solid. This will also get you the final game when it launches. What's available now :

Was in a console mood for a while and this snapped me back out of it.

Between this, Divinity: Original Sin, and maybe DOTA 2 (pheeniks smh)...these should keep me busy on the PC side for a while.

Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us are the two remaining *buy or die* games that I want for my PS3. I had a chance to buy both for $30/ea during the Christmas shopping season, but I decided to wait another year to see if I could get them for $15-20. Actually, with TLoU, I heard some DLC was coming out, so I decided to wait until I could get the GOTY edition. They did a remaster on PS4 instead, so I'm not sure if I'm even going to play that game at all in the next four-five years, when I plan on getting a PS4. So B:TS seems a more likely purchase this year.

Among second-tier games that I have not played are the Puppeteer (word of mouth says it's good) and Asura's Wrath. For the latter, I have heard that gamers get screwed with DLC, so I'm tiptoeing carefully, trying to figure out if I want to get it and buy the DLC, wait for a GOTY edition, or pass on it altogether.

I read on CAG that Gran Turismo 6 is like $20 already. I'm seriously considering it. I'm up to the endurance races on GT5, which I really don't want to do. I really hate the used car system, too, having to check like, every other race to see if there's a car on the list that I don't own. Dumb.

Well, it’s Bayonetta to the core, and going by the areas of the game I’m currently allowed to talk about, it contains everything you would expect from Platinum Games: Action, Silky-smooth framerates, campiness, unique characters and enemy designs, and uncomfortably overt sexual themes.

That's the part I was afraid of. I might not be able to play this after all.

Yeah it is. I get you on the IPS panel. I have a Dell U3011 as well and despite the Samsung being 4k, that Dell monitor looks better. The Samsung was just a cheap 4k panel I got to push my rig. It's still a TN panel :l

I really want to get a hold of one of those LGs. What are your impressions?

About Destiny...I'm conflicted. PS4 or X1. Really feel like the DS4 is not best suited for FPS. I mentioned it before but the left stick on my controller is literally peeling and falling apart. And that is without a noteworthy , MP centric FPS title available on the system.

As for Destiny... I haven't messed with the X1 controller yet, but the DS4 was great for the FPS's I've been dicking around with so far. It's been outstanding ever since I threw the thumbgrips on it.

I like the available layouts but I'm really hoping for some button mapping. The D-pad could be a hell of a lot more useful than it is in that game.

Titanfall was doing too much... I like their movement -idea- but Gunz: The Duel implemented it better and that game is damn near a decade old.

Yeah I'm getting an xbox just in time for CoD. I really can't stand that weak ass system but I have PC for multi-plats and I can't imagine playing CoD on a playstation. So yea...Destiny, Halo MCC, and Advanced Warfare...gonna be good. I'll miss PS4 for TLoU but the rest I can wait on.

Don't get a DK2. Trust me...it aint ready. Not from a software or hardware standpoint. Is it awesome and the truth? Yea, but it aint ready. Broken as fuck in many ways. I don't know how they are going to get around the nausea issue. I don't think its the type of shit that can be fixed by hardware. It's just some mind fuckery you'd have to adapt to. I'll definitely give it another go for the consumer version but right now it's just a huge headache. Don't regret selling my kit in the least.

:idea: Titanfall was clearly a rush job. I feel like TF2 they'll really deliver what they want to do. In the meantime Advanced Warefare looks to be a beast. It'll do until Black Ops 3 hits which I think most COD players are waiting for. Treyarch is now the A team, and BLOPS II was the best modern COD in the series after 4 imo. Infinity Ward is just garbage and Activision should really consider putting them to sleep. Almost every body they talked to at the event yesterday kept mentioning Back Ops II. No mention of Ghosts anywhere.

Also the salt is real on GAF about Tomb Raider exclusivity to X1. That's a big deal for MS and I'm not so sure it will be coming to PS4 right away like some think. MS is publishing it. I'll take 912p and be happy. TR2013 was a better Uncharted than Uncharted.

Halo MCC and Halo 5 Beta info

The Chief collection will have a skill-based ranking system exactly like Halo 2 did.
Sanctuary is the next announced remastered map for Halo 2 Anniversary MP.
Halo 5 beta will begin Dec 29 and run for 3 weeks and have 7 maps.
Halo 5 beta will focus on tight, 4v4 gameplay with smaller maps and no loadouts. Everyone on equal footing again.
Looks like purple is coming back to Halo 5.

Halo Channel seems to be replacing Halo Waypoint for all Halo content, stats, and live-streaming matches.

Seems like they are going to finally let go of the COD BS and go back to what made Halo Halo. Hopefully companies are starting to realize COD is the only franchise that does what it does, and does it well. Devs trying to rip stuff from it have ruined tons of franchises including Halo.

Speaking of FPS, I just reinstalled Crysis (2007) and while the dialogue is cheeseball and the NPCs move like robots during cutscenes, it's still a gorgeous game and switching between suit abilities never felt better. I can totally tell the difference with my new Razr Death Adder mouse.

I'm down the very last stage (I think/hope) in SM3DW, Champion's Road. The other two final missions are cake compared to it. Hardest platforming stage ever? IDK. Maybe when I finally beat it (I'm 50+ lives deep into it; the challenge levels took, about 30 tries), I'll look back and be like "man that was easy." But right now, I'm getting rekt.

I am also defeating one colossus/day in Shadow of the Colossus. I think I have 3-4 left. What a splendid game, especially compared to Ico, which was excruciatingly boring.

I also finally fired up OOT3DS. The fact that OOT still holds up just with modern graphics....yo. YOOOOOOOOOO this game is just...omg.



Why am I playing so much simultaneously? Well, I'm trying to wean myself off of a daily regimen of DotA 2. That game is like heroin.

I hope so. I'm a hugeeee halo fan. Had Xbox live for 10 straight years for halo but ended it last year, and am buying an Xbox one just for the halo collection next week. I really hope halo 5 has no super abilities and sticks with the combat from halo 2/3, and also keeps 4 player local online. It's one of the biggest reasons I've loved that franchise so much.

M$'s operation isn't profitable enough to negatively influence the industry. I'm not even sure if the gaming division of M$ is profitable yet. I know they've been doing better since the first Xbox, but between hardware, marketing, and R&D, they're usually in the red.

M$'s tenure in video games has been very, very expensive (Sony's too but its different there as they trim fat from other departments like the VIAO PC and such). It's as if they're in it just for the purpose of competition. They have managed to garner ZERO appeal outside of the West, and it's nowhere near the popularity of Sony.

Video Games have been compared to Hollywood since the first RE and MGS. I think it's safe to say that CoD borrows a lot of its queues from military action/thriller/drama genres. I fell that it very much does want to take itself seriously, from WWII reenactments (CoD D-Day was much more intense than Medal of Honor) and then grounding itself in in a *modern* post-9/11 context. Black Ops goes into the direction of spies and sleeper agents during the Vietnam/Cold War era. I never played Ghosts (post Spec Ops release), but I get the impression with Black Ops 2, Ghosts, and this new game that they want to get into speculative fiction, which is a good move, I think simply BECAUSE we can no longer take the Oscar-attempts at writing juxtaposed with Michael Bay-style set pieces seriously anymore.

Ghosts had you fighting in space. Like literally floating around shooting . Was fun but that's when I realized they don't give any fucks. I platinumed the game on PS4 so I got some enjoyment out of it, but outside of Exctinction MP was hot garbage.

The Black Ops storyline is actually cool and interesting. I can see some shit like that happening. More so from BLOPS I than BLOPS II.

They can do whatever they like with a B grade franchise like Tomb Raider as long as they're not getting SE to cut exclusivity deals with Deus Ex.

Titanfall probably wouldn't even have been made if MS didn't step in. Respawn just fucked around for two years and had pretty much nothing to show for it. I doubt EA would have kept paying people to do nothing, despite people thinking they would.

That Stig Asmussen project had tons of money invested into it and at the end of the day Sony thought it wasn't worth it. Ubisoft canned Rainbow Six: Patriots. Potentially big projects get canned often

No matter how many times I see Drive Club it still looks boring. I hope I'm wrong and it's the second coming of Project Gotham. With Ridge Racer, Daytona, Wipeout & Motorstorm all seemingly dead, it's my only hope.

the only battlefield clone I can remember was frontline and homefront...neither of which had even anywhere near the budget of what 343 can put to the table

and large scale battles in Halo have never really been done justice with the games mechanics

Kind of wish Sony didn't abandon 3D support with PS4. They were one gen too soon . PS3 couldn't properly handle it without reducing the resolution to something out of the N64 era.

This gen shit like Alienation would look crazy in 3d and still be smooth and playable.

It wasn't just them, 3D TV in general failed to take off. This gen is going to be all about Morpheus for them.
