Trying to finish Kingdoms of Amalur and there is no end in sight. I'm 55 hours in and only about half of the map is explored. This game is bloated as fuck.

gettin in that ass
So I was doing a remodel for about 4-5 months and finally had a chance to open Bloodborne and start playing. Holy shit people weren't lying when the said the game is difficult and vaugue. It took me a while to catch on, but it's getting really fun now that I've found a couple secret paths and opened up a couple lanterns. Currently getting smoked by the second boss though.
By Hitch Go To PostStarting Ground ZeroesI really wished they kept Hayter.
Sutherland sounds awful
Kiefer sounds completely uninterested in anything he's saying.
By DY_nasty Go To PostBatman shits all over ESO what in the fuckYeah, i was in the ESO alpha/beta last year on PC, and i really wasn't feeling it.
and you can bet I sold the fuck out of ESO today. jesus that is one ugly ass game with just… REMEDIAL framework for its crafting and economy.
I am literal trash at DMC. Got me mashing buttons like it's my first time playing street fighter lol
By Shy Go To PostI really wished they kept Hayter.i'll be honest and say that they fixed a lot of the issues with it

Yeah, i was in the ESO alpha/beta last year on PC, and i really wasn't feeling it.
but its still just such a meh experience as an mmo. as an mmo. as an mmo.
if you want what ESO is best at, just go play skyrim with some mods and dlc

By blackace Go To PostItching for an RPG.. is Guildwars worth the money?
Might just re-load Skyrim…
Guild Wars 1 or 2?
GW1 is still a nice game that you can sort of play like a single palyer RPG if you want, but not many people are playing it.
GW2 is easily worth the price. It's an MMO with MMO stylings, but quite different from the standard MMO. Really good combat, world design and exploration. Good community. Good PVP. Free updates to the game. The Story quests are only decent to good for the first 30 levels and then they take a dive. The Living Story quest chapters (max level story quests) are a mixed bag and cost extra right now. The expansion comes later this year and I think you can only buy a pre-purchase of the expansion, but that includes the current game for free. I think base game and expansion are now a single PSU.

Sutherland sounds awful
he consistently sounds bored or midway through having a stroke and slurring his words
Got a mini rotation going at the moment. Geometry Wars 3 on Vita and Driveclub on PS4. GW3 is such a relief from what I normally play. Fun fact: I bought the game on X1 at it's launch and never touched it. But it's gotten me into a nice rhythm. Been going for trophies and have been doing the same in DC. I actually really like DC and may upgrade to the full version. It's a pretty visceral racer and is a nice balance between sim and arcade.
These two may have kicked off my trophy collecting again. It comes and goes but when I get into it I really dive in. Not a bad thing really. Keeps me invested in games and actually play them.

Finished with Batman, so I'm going to move back to Witcher and see that out.
GTA Online just had another free content update today including a new radio station, so I'll check on that too.
Rocket League seems like the new hotness though, so I'll be playing that if the servers cooperate.
Madden in August and then MGSV a week later followed by PES in mid September.

Slowly working though Riddler stuff in Batman. I don't see it as a chore like what I've been reading on the net.

yeah the expansion is the new psu.
how long can you solo?
Play solo? Almost as much as you want, but it won't be easy to play in complete isolation.
As best as I can explain it, open world stuff generally all works solo, but there's almost always going to be other players. However, other players don't get in the way. All the systems are designed to be naturally cooperative. You don't fight over mobs or gathering nodes or event items or quests.
Only the instanced dungeons require making a party and having a party to complete. Story quests are instanced so you're entirely alone unless you bring a party.
Large world boss events will have other players there and are designed around multiple players. If there aren't people there, then you probably won't be able to do those things. However, its very rare that you walk across a world boss and don't have people there to help. Bosses like Tequatl require around 40-60 people. Triple Worm was designed around 80 people spread across the map. Other world bosses range from 10 to 40 people. Most everything in open world PVE scales to the amount of players nearby.
Probably more info than what you wanted, but I didn't want to say "you can play solo" and then get surprised when 30 other players show up.

By Ragnarok Flames Go To PostSlowly working though Riddler stuff in Batman. I don't see it as a chore like what I've been reading on the net.The thing about the Riddler is that most of the trophies are really well done and fun to chase after.
However, it's bullshit when you interrogate an informant revealing the location of a riddle or trophy on the map that you can't obtain because you need to advance in the story or don't have the proper gear yet. There's also the issue that a few of the trophies require you to use your gear in ways that is not explained is even possible and never asked of you to replicate again anywhere in the game.
You guys watch any stream/streamers? Any recommendations?
Making my way through Jeff Green playing Bloodborne. Got a feeling this'll be hugely frustrating, with the focus on dodging and parrying instead of blocking
I'd recommend:
Persona 4 Giant Bomb Endurance Run (Jeff and Vinny)
Deadly Premonition Giant Bomb Endurance Run (Jeff and Vinny)
Jeff Green playing Dark Souls 1 & 2
Dark Souls and Demons Souls Pants Man (Matt Lees for videogamer.com)
Shadow of the Colossus (Chris Bratt for videogamer.com)

Played some offline 2k since the servers are down. Reminded me that its actually 60fps. They really need to do something to improve the latency online.

Dusted the PS2 off and put in Shinobi.
I'm super terrible now, but damn if this isn't still gdlk. Wish the camera wasn't total ass, but yea. Hitting bosses with an OHKO is still amazing.

PS2 Shinobi is like the perfect video game in my mind
The camera is fine. Game is designed around that perspective

By blackace Go To Postno that's exactly the info I wanted to hear.GW2 is for sure worth it if you're into that sort of game. Best part is that you can just buy it and then play however much you want. No need to worry about subs.
sounds pretty fun… tempted to jump in on it
I recently got back into WoW. Don't have much time for gaming right now, so I've just been messing around on there when I get any time.

If you want to feel OP try hacking them. Takes them all out and they fight for you to destroy the other Cobras, and they won't attack them because they're just looking for you. I think it consumes two of the special weapon bars.
I'll try it. I'm just remarkably meh to the batmobile. I'd much rather have the option to play as more characters through the main story
but don't get me wrong, the game is fucking amazing.

scholar of the first sin is kinda hype
died so many fukin times getting to a boss over and over again that the game literally started deleting pockets of mobs until there was a fucking clear path for me to just sprint to the boss lmao

For all of Sony’s successes this generation, they’ve had a really tough time maintaining a stable, competent network for online services. In addition to random spurts of downtime, the modern PlayStation Network is full of all sorts of weird bugs—right now, for example, all of my messages say “received 28 minutes ago” no matter when I actually got them. Sometimes the PlayStation Store will randomly refuse to load until I reboot the machine. Occasionally, I won’t be able to hear or talk to members of a PSN party thanks to “NAT issues” that seem to be more common than they should be.
PSN also lacks some critical features that any major network in 2015 should have, like two-step verification, decent cloud storage (what’s with it filling up after a few dozen images?), and an online/offline/invisible/busy status so you can play multiplayer games even when you don’t want to talk to any of your friends. This is basic core functionality we’re talking about, not some sort of luxury.
And no lies were told.
The only thing I don't like from switching to PS4 is that PSN sucks a lot of the time. I've never had any trouble with Xbox Live really over the years.
MS game is too stronk when it comes to XBL
It really is a shame that they/Mattick fucked up the XB1 in the way that they did. The system is superior in most areas...except power. Controller, external HDD, online service, XBL Updates/Preview program etc.

I still can't even log on to the web store
Everytime I try to sign in it just....freezes up on the log in tab that pops up
I tried to be sneaky about it, clicked sign up then clicked log in with existing account on that page, and it didn't freeze. But it also didn't log me in when I put in my email and password.
It accepted it just didn't log me in.
So yeah I'll sign this.

By psychintellect Go To PostYou can't even tell when a friend comes online.
Amateur hour from Sony, really.
Not to mention that there's just some kind of inherent incompatibility with PS3 users and PS4 users. If your friend got a PS4 and is on that, you can't even see them logged on at all. Even if you're active it'll show up as you never logging on on the PS3 side.
Which only complicates games that support cross play. There were a bunch of problems between finding people in Xrd across platforms, but matchmaking in games like Helldivers just straight up does not work through crossplay since there are no invites. PS3 users just can't see games hosted by PS4 users and vice versa. They just don't show up as online to each other.
So I mean when your platform on a system level hurts the functionality of 3rd party games something needs to be done.
MS has literally gotten the entire X360 hardware emulated on the X1 where you can do everything you could on a OG 360 in a backwards compatible 360 game. The X1 is convinced it's playing a X1 game letting you use Game DVR and other features. Two different types of hardware. 360 PowerPC and X1 x86. Yet Sony can't seem to let you know when friends are online, disable your online status, or change your PSN name.
