If he wants to leave this window, the path is completely clear as it stands, as far as I can tell. Fulham aren't going to let him rot in the stands if he doesn't do them a favour.
Also I'd be interested to see how many players literally leave a month or so after signing a new contract, especially players who are already in demand. Obviously this is a weird situation where we seemingly need him to extend his current contract just to be able to sign him.
