43m sounds more like crazy talk than 71m does
Very ikely some underhand fuckery going on for City to arrive at that total and claim there won't be bonus payments on top.
How long did he have left on his contract?

By sohois Go To PostDo you really believe that City only paid 43m? The French side are reporting as high as 71m for the feeSome French sites reported €71m. All the English press say €50m (must have been briefed by the club). For what it's worth, if it was €71m I think that City would have referred to him as the club's record signing somewhere and they have not.

What a signing, dude's full of talent and a lot of the success they had this season is probably attributed to him. Crazy work ethic, killer left leg.

By Hitch Go To PostNot every club likes to brag about how much money it spends innitHaha. I know when we signed Rahudas, we specifically announced he was our record signing (Kevin broke that and Stones did as well, perhaps).
By inky Go To PostYup, no way it was £43mThe BBC are a good source.
To this day, the Mangala number isn't confirmed. People just extrapolated things and presumed all parts were equal when they might not have been. At the time, the story was that Doyen took a smaller figure for their percentage of his rights as a part of the deal where Porto signed Yacine Brahimi for €6.5m and then sold 80% of his rights to Doyen for €5m. They were betting on getting a huge windfall from Brahimi for next to nothing (€60m release clause).
Moneyball works if you sign a Suarez, which was a massive signing. Let's see what Klopp's influence is. I've enjoyed Firmino's play. His distribution is incredible. And he scores goals. He can only grow. Liverpool will be doomed to be the player farm for Barca or Madrid though. Have to protect Coutinho. Gonna be tough as he's really good at his job.
"And former Black Cats striker Stephen Elliot has given an hilarious anecdote into what life at Sunderland was like under Roy Keane, and just how high the Manchester United legend’s standards were.
Revealing Keane’s hatred for the Lonsdale kits, Elliot wrote in his latest SportsDec column: “He didn’t like the fact that our Sunderland strip was made by a brand more famous for combat sports.
“I remember he was fuming one day, probably after a defeat when he had a bit of a rant regarding our strip. It was something along the lines of ‘how are we meant to be taken seriously when we have this rascal kit on?’
“He went on to say that opposing teams would be coming to Stadium of Light and looking down at us because we were in our Lonsdale gear.
“He was fuming because there were so-called lesser clubs coming to the stadium in Puma, Adidas and other known well-known football brands."
What a lad. It's stories like this that make me feel like I'd be alright if he came back. Never gonna happen, but fuck, it was just so entertaining being a Sunderland fan back then. 10 years ago!!

By Zabojnik Go To PostI'm not ignoring it, and I'm certainly not denying that the implosion of the two Milan clubs paved the way, but what Agnelli, Marotta and Paratici have accomplished over the past 7-10 years is praiseworthy, especially considering the state the club was left in after the depressing Cobolli-Gigli era.I've never denied what your management has achieved, but I also fully recognize that it was all accomplished in an effective vacuum. Juventus has successfully pursued a sensible business-football model drawn from other successful clubs across Europe, but they've done so while every other former Italian competitor has squandered their funds and their reputation, making Juve's task all the easier. The flow of funds to the top of the table has been unprecedented, enabling an era of both financial and field dominance unlike anything the league has seen in a very long time, if not ever.
Juventus aren't some random mid-table club, so the chances of us becoming anonymous were small to begin with, but we could've just as easily witnessed a decade of mediocrity, if not for the current management. We were well on our way. The other clubs had every chance to come up with their own mid / long term 'industrial plans' and did fuck all*. That's on them as much as Juve's success is (mostly) their own. It didn't just happen.
*I actually consider Napoli to be an exception. It's not happening as fast or as glamorously as some (most?) Napoli fans pretend it should, but De Laurentiis has elevated the club to a remarkable level. His character hasn't made it easy for people to work with him and you might not agree with some of his practices, business or otherwise, but the alternative - staying the Napoli of the past 20+ years, that is - is much, much worse.
So what I'm saying is ... oh, never mind, #fuckmodernfootball
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostDo all Italian managers and players have the letter "I" in their full names? Is that an i or an L (differing capitalization used for proper differentiation)? The former is far more difficult than the latter.

We lost to Coventry, Plymouth, Southend and Bury in August alone. Jon Stead scored his only goal in that game as well (edit: Southend. Turns out he actually scored against Everton as well, who knew?). Then Keane turned up to watch against West Brom and we smashed them...
Anyone else play Farpoint here? Had a lot of fun.
Can't believe there are games coming out that I actually want to buy and play. What's happening?

I'd like to be excited for Far Cry 5 but I fear that despite the change in setting, it's going to be the same game as 3 & 4.
I've had enough of that.

It's most certainly going to be the same shit, and waste what could have been a great setting... Sadly.
Wish they would try and make something like Far Cry 2 again. That game had such potential but was ruined due to a few very bad design decisions.

Guys. You should watch this, it's really sweet. Some fans had nice things to say about Zaba and then he came up from behind to surprise them. Made me cry like a baby.. big ol fat tears. The last 3+ mins in particular are amazing.
I'm sorry for harping on here, but I still can't believe United "let" City have Bernardo. It's bullshit. What reasoning was used to justify that? Fabinho and Mendy are most likely theirs as well.
I mean... That's 3 supposed targets for us which are now on the verge of being gone to a direct rival (who already had an upper hand on us) and there basically aren't any realistic players left whom can match those in terms of quality.
If we expect Griezmann to come in and just run the show without adequate support we're heading for big trouble.
I should note that I am currently suffering from an old fashioned case of the runs - so you'll have to excuse me for coming across as quite irate. Not the best of days.

That Griezmann statement is ridiculous.
Can't say he has a 6/10 chance to play for United and then complain about rumours.
