Giuseppe Marotta insists Juventus and Paulo Dybala will have “a long journey together” and calls release clauses “madness’.
The forward signed a new contract with the Bianconeri in April, and the club’s general manager doesn’t expect him to leave any time soon.
“How do we choose a Juventus player?” Marotta considered in an interview with Tuttosport.
“Two levels: we take someone who is already an established champion: look at Dani Alves, [Mario] Mandzukic, [Sami] Khedira, [Gonzalo] Higuain and so on.
“Or, we look for talent. But, listen, a talent who can become a champion. That means someone who has not only the technical qualities but also the human values to turn into a champion, as happened with Dybala for example.
“We have a Del Piero project for him, in his new contract we’ve taken into account the value of the player, which goes hand-in-hand with enhancing the brand of the club.
“There’s common ground and the intention to have a long journey together.
“A release clause? It’s madness, I’ll never put one on a player. It’s not an advantage, it puts you in a weak position.
“If I’d put a clause on [Paul] Pogba we’d have said €60m was good, then we sold him for €110m.
“Gonzalo Higuain? I still don’t know if [Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis would have rejected €90m…”
Marotta also discussed this summer’s transfer campaign, as well as the best signings of his reign so far.
“Last summer was perhaps one of the best transfer campaigns in our history. I don’t want the expectation of something like that to happen now. We definitely want to strengthen the team though.
“We want to strengthen the team and some tactical changes mean we need some adjustments, even if we have a strong squad. We won’t sell our champions though.
“There’s something missing in attack, even considering [Marko] Pjaca’s injury. As for midfield and defence, we’ll see.
“We’re following the market, but it’s not easy to find players who will improve the team.
“Will we sell our top players? No, absolutely not. If there’s someone who wants to leave then it’s another matter, but right now I can’t see that. No-one wants to leave and we’re not trying to make quick profits.
“My best signing? Andrea Pirlo. At the time most people thought he was a finished player.”
The director was also asked about the future of 17-year-old Moise Kean, who made his first team debut this season.
“I hope he’s not a victim of his contract, because the regulations don’t allow us to tie him down until an age where he’s deemed able to understand it [18],” Marotta said.
“So we have to negotiate his stay with his agent, Mino Raiola. And it’s not possible for us to go beyond certain financial parameters on his salary, not least for ethical and moral reasons.
“I actually really like Mino, you’d have to know him. He’s someone who can argue, fight even, but he only has one word.
“I’d rather have that 1000 times than some of his colleagues who are more ambiguous.”

By Punished Go To PostWelp, that's me done with uni. Going to crack open a cold one and play some PS4. Going to get stuck into China Mieville's October at some point too.Congratulations.
Allow me to set out the next 2/3 years of your life.
Months 0-3 - Enjoy the freedom of having fuck all to do
Months 3-6 - Realise doing fuck all isn't that great, also, you need money, so you look for a job. In some cases you will have already found a job so this will be an awkward waiting time. Consider 'travel', end up going to Amsterdam for a weekend.
Months 6-12 - Start working. Fill your wardrobe with workplace essentials. Tell everyone about how important your job is.
Months 12-24 - Become comfortable in your own skin. You've made it. Somehow that scrawny teenager is making a living. Your lifestyle will change, you'll eat at fancy places and go into the department stores.
Months 24-36 - Begin to realise that the best years in life are behind you and what lies ahead is complete and utter shit.
By Grizzled Cola Go To PostSo United lads, with Griezmann not being a typical no.9 and sitting in behind or to the side of the striker, are we thinking of making Rash our no.1 choice upfront next year? Or do you think that its too soon?I watched a video of Belotti and he doesn't look very good to me. Do not want.
I am worried because of his inefficacy playing against half the league that refuses to attack against us.
I would like to throw my support behind LFMartins. He's right, we really shouldn't have an EPL mod. Only Madrid and barca fans are worse than the average EPL post
By Laboured Go To PostBernardo Silva has just flown into Manchester. Interesting.Who goes to Manchester on holiday.
Could be on holiday but it seems… unlikely.
Congrats, united.
Business done early this year.

I watched a video of Belotti and he doesn't look very good to me. Do not want.
This is mostly correct.
Also, I'm unsure on Belotti. Seems a Costa style striker in that he seems a bit uncoordinated but seems to get the goals due to his physicality and positioning.
I'd rather have Lukaku.
Hmm, Hitch seems like a man of the people. I could get behind that, but FF is a photoshop master and that's important to me.
If I were a mod here, I'd do nothing. Maybe temp ban someone making fun of the Holocaust. We're pretty self-moderated here as far as I know. No one here upsets me. I'm used to far more ruder forums. This place is fine. It needs no more moderation unless someone is posting pedophilia or someone decides to spam.
Shanks for president moderator.
He shares my values (sassy and belligerent), and he's willing to waste far more time here than me.
And because we need to give him a purpose for life after Totti retires.

Just watched the Trump Nato press conference, having all the world leaders stand there listening, effectively being held captive and complicit to his words, however nonsensical they are, their faces are priceless. What a world we live in.
By Oddinho Go To PostOh manI have to live with this guy as President. He's an absolute ignorant asshole. The election was a disaster. He makes George Walker Bush seem like an educated statesman. He has no knowledge on nearly any subject. He's a great embarrassment and if I travel Europe, I'm going to get questions on him and how we could elect him. Every day, he raises a new crisis. He's an ignorant bastard and should resign.
This guy
Well City starting the transfer season strong. Wouldn't be surprised if they spend 500m in one window. 💀

By Baconsaurus Go To PostIf anybody asks: you're from Canada. Ok?I can put on a good Irish accent on demand. And I have. The key is not going overblown. Just a soft Irish accent. The accent you hear in the movies isn't what you hear in the country. But Canadian is good.

Fuck it, Griezmann is coming, not gonna play games all summer, hes coming unless some absurd nonsense thing happens like the club is transfer banned or something.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostWho is Liverpool rumoured to get?Naby Keita, Ryan Sessegnon and Mo Salah
Keita wuld definitely cost a tonne, but we'll need to get used to the new market if we actually want to sign the best players we can reasonably attract. 50 is the new 30.

City’s set of attacking midfielders is seriously good.
KDB, Sane, Silva, Silva, Sterling…then Aguero and Jesus up front.
Woof. That is frightening.
