By n8 dogg Go To Post… how does this show that he is unambitious at all? He moved to the biggest club in the world.
He went from a perennial contender for the Champions League to a club where he could score hat tricks on bankrupt teams every week and had an Arsenal-esque record at the Round of 16 in the CL. I like Ronaldo a lot, but he's clearly an egomaniac that chose his own personal power and marketability over legacy, team accolades and potential GOAT status.
Also, not to belabor the whole "X leagues in their career" point because it's dumb (which was my original point!) but Real Madrid only won one league title with Ronaldo.
(Yes, I'm arguing that Manchester United under Ferguson were the biggest club in the world. Take it! Just take it!)
hope bale doesn't get rushed back again for the final, especially with the whole cardiff marketing angle
Even though we've been terrible. Messi this season has been individually at his best since a long long time, a shame the rest of the team let him down, he's been far and away the best player in Europe again.
Domestic double is possible but unlikely.
Buffon won't win the balloon even with a treble I don't think.

Reminds me of someone else's career ;p
It is great to see Juve back at the top.
Feels like the 90s. Juve, RM, and Monaco in CL runs. And Totti still playing.

this argument makes zero sense and you as usual change details to fit your argument.

Crazy how few games he has played. The latter half of the 00s was so barren.
yes, ronaldo emphasized his personal ego by moving to the biggest club in the world with the biggest star in the world (kaka) and dethroning him there.

Ronaldo couldn't stay at a club where he had less power than the manager.
Played in Serie B with Juve? No professional ambition.

lack of ambition. Should have moved.

yeah
Still cracks me up when Beckenfool called Buffon shit a few years back.
I think that must have sparked Buffon back to life. Since then he has been just as good as his Parma/early Juve days.

Ronaldo had already dethroned Kaka. Kaka was broken when he moved to Madrid. Marketing buy.
Thought it was only my WhatsApp acting up.

Didn't know how going to one of the top 5 clubs in the world is unambitious, even when United back then was another one of them
By #ForzaMilan Go To PostRemember when Premier League clubs were relevant in UCL?
It's hard to remember. But if you remember Milan being relevant, you should remember premier league clubs being good as well.

I can only assume WhatsApp got hacked and our information is being sold to Chinese businessmen right now, it was nice knowing you Andres and suen
NSA I swear it was all jokes and banter. Plus, Suen was the only one who actually stalked children.
By jtb Go To PostI wonder how shit Higuain would've been if Wenger had bought himHe would have never bought a player with real potential.

for Higuain? probably unambitious
idk he was being forced out of the club and didn't really have a lot of options at his disposal. Napoli and Arsenal were about on par at the time.

So the ambitious move would have been to stay and fight for his spot?
But that might have been a selfish move because at that point the team needed to replace him.
But if he stayed that would show loyalty.
But if he left that would show a lack of ambition because he was moving to a smaller club.
By Esch Go To Postlateral.
Lateral would be unambitious I think.
I just want to make clear that I never had sex with a Benzema lookalike. That's not me. It was created by some person's sick imagination
By HitchfireJP Go To PostMaybe I underestimate Juve's spending in the context of PL spending, and the other members of the European eliteIt's not just money, either, but also prestige. They can keep attracting superlative veterans and prospects on frees like Pogba, Alves, and Khedira because of how established they are - how simply and assuredly those footballers can be guaranteed victory in a laughable league.
Pair that, too, with the fact that they now have several dozen young footballers out on loan, providing them numerous future sources of both talent and cash, and you have a self-perpetuating machine that will only be smashed when a mountain range of money is raised against it.
Only the Chinese can save us.
Ronaldo had been a Real Madrid fan since he was a little boy. Why the fuck would he miss the chance to play there?

What's loyalty? I've never heard of that word before. I only know what "professional ambition" is.
Zero Serie A titles at Napoli. (Less than Maradona and Totti. Specialist in failure!) But he also probably would have won zero Premier Leagues with Arsenal. Hell, even Real Madrid hasn't won the league since Higuain left.
It's a tough one. So many professionally unambitious options to choose from.

As I said earlier, I still think Roma could have been a lot better in recent seasons. Every time you think they have a platform to build on and they fuck it up.
Napoli have that foundation now and need a strong summer to strengthen the overall quality of the squad.
However, the biggest reason for Juve's success is the boardroom.
The club has a clear structure and people get the job done.
Milan wanted to win titles, but didn't want to buy anyone. The last good thing about the Silvio years is that at least he did want to build an Italian team and the foundations are now there. Although again, he still expected to be competing with youngsters.
Inter have half a dozen people who seem to be incharge of transfers and they build disjointed squads with no clear identidy.
Napoli have a madman in charge.
Roma again suffer in the boardroom with too many people involved and constantly seem to rebuild after every season.

he moved to napoli to play more football. professional ambition for that time.
he then moved onto juventus when he had maximised his talents to win trophies. professional ambition for this time.
if totti had moved to madrid and then failed i would have more respect
he's basically steven gerrard with better hair
