Totti played with three world class(Batigol, Cafu, and Cassano) during his 24 years.
Had he gone to RM and won shit load of trophies then it would not have made him anymore greater. Just a better winner.
The facts remains that nobody is complete as him as player. His vision, creativity, and finishing are phenomenal.
People wax lyrical about Xavi seeing seven steps ahead. Totti could get the job done in one.
And another thing. Totti has never had a team built around him. He has constantly moved his position to accommodate new coaches' ideas and new players.
I could go on all night, but I want to smoke a cuban before the Juve game.
I miss Dani Alves, the lack of respect showed to Alves and Abidal by the Barca board was a disgrace.
By #ForzaMilan Go To Postwow it feels so great seeing your team win a match. forza juve.
It is why I stopped watching Arsenal ;p
shanks arsenal's sole purpose in this world is to cleanse your soul before the judgment day. allah forgives your sins if you support arsenal for long enough
By BigBoss Go To PostI miss Dani Alves, the lack of respect showed to Alves and Abidal by the Barca board was a disgrace. It becomes bizarre when you consider that you've not even come close to replacing Alves. Wonder what the plan was, it can't have been to turn Roberto into a RB.

Aleix Vidal was the plan but Luis Enrique never gave him much of a chance.

He was actually playing pretty well before he fucked up his leg, he was scoring or assissting in pretty much every appearance.
By Wedward Go To PostShanks are you gunnna get those limited edition Totti Nike's?
I think they are already sold out.
Only a thousand were made.
By n8 dogg Go To PostGood first half. Juve better not get through this and then fucking bottle the final.Real Muhdrid has no chance against Allegri's next level tactics.

Who holds the record, Arsenal or United?
Arsenal right?
With Phillipe Sendros of all people if I remember

I know we had it, but not sure if United broke it when they had a crazy streak in the league and CL with Edwin VDS
This French debate is jokes. Just both of them talking over each other, Le Pen has just been insulting Macron the entire time :lol
Arsenal hold the record for the most consecutive clean sheets with ten in 2005β06. They went without conceding a goal for 995 minutes between September 2005 and May 2006.[14] The run started after Markus Rosenberg's goal for Ajax after 71 minutes on matchday two of the group stage, continued with four group stage games and six games in the knockout rounds, and ended with Samuel Eto'o's goal for Barcelona after 76 minutes in the final. The 995 minutes were split between two goalkeepers, Jens Lehmann with 648 and Manuel Almunia with 347 minutes.
Manchester United hold the record for the longest run without conceding from the start of a campaign, with 481 minutes in 2010β11. The run ended with Pablo HernΓ‘ndez's goal for Valencia after 32 minutes on matchday six of the group stage.
Manchester United in 2010β11 is the only team to play six away games in a single Champions League season without conceding a goal
Still Arsenal :)))

By n8 dogg Go To PostSo 2016/17 Leicester are as good a team as 1998/99 United or 2003/04 purely because they won the Premier League some time? What you just said is massively reductive :lol.
In terms of history, Totti will go down as a great player who fell short of being in the upper echelons of gods because he showed too little professional ambition and was unable to inspire his club to reach unparalleled heights, unlike the likes of Messi, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo et al. They each did whatever they could to be the best around. Totti stayed at Roma, and while that is great in itself, it carves him out as the greatest cult hero of all time as opposed to one of the greatest players (at least in terms of fulfilled potential) of all time.
I'm not contesting he isn't great. He's probably my favourite non-United player ever. But he is not the greatest player of all time, nor is he even in the same stratosphere as those who have contributed to winning millions and millions of trophies for their sides. And not in a 'Thomas Vermaelen won La Liga and all he did was wank into Alex Song's Lucozade' way. Messi has inspired his side to numerous CLs and leagues. Maradona dragged Argentina to a World Cup. Ronaldo's just scored consecutive hat tricks against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in the CL knockout rounds.
If Totti wanted to become one of the greatest of all time, he would have moved to a club where he would be expected to be so.
I'm not arguing that Totti is the GOAT. I'm arguing that your point, that individuals who do not win as a team are destined to be forgotten, discarded to the ash heap of history, is both absurd and false. Do I think there is more to legacy than a trophy? Yes.
But I guess this is the logic that gets you Zlatan is the new Cantona (so many trophies) thanks to his 'talismanic' presence and Michael "English Xavi" Carrick is the greatest midfielder ever to grace the premiership.
(PS. Ferguson copied Totti and Roma to win the 08 CL, and then Pep took that model and humiliated United with it - twice)
Ramsay's The F Word coming to the US. It won't be as good as the Ch. 4 original but we'll see. Definitely my favorite of his programs.
By #ForzaMilan Go To PostReal Muhdrid has no chance against Allegri's next level tactics.Do you think madrid have won any game with amazing tactics under Zidane?
They literally just bombard the wings and cross the ball. Get corners, cross the ball. Get a free kick, cross the ball. With the great crossers they have and incredible aerial threats, it's lethal.
Regardless of what team they've played this season, relegation or champions, that is the only strength they have. Whether they play monaco or Juve, they won't change that. Allegri has to find out how to score more than madrid will, just like we did with Messi(3-2 win, both madrid goals from crosses)

There is more to a legacy than a trophy. There is not as much to Totti's legacy as Messi's, and that is largely because Messi has directly contributed to winning many, many trophies.
Not sure I said Totti will be discarded to the ash heap of history or that Carrick is the greatest midfielder ever to grace the Premier League, or how your point re: Fergie is relevant. Is Spalletti not the real genius? Or is the fact that we beat Roma 7-1 and then got humiliated shows that Messi > Ronaldo > Totti, like I've been arguing all along?
And here's Zlatan's trophy record:
Ajax:
Eredivisie: 2001β02, 2003β04
KNVB Cup: 2001β02
Johan Cruyff Shield: 2002
Juventus:
Serie A: 2004β05, 2005β06 (both revoked due to the Calciopoli scandal)
Internazionale:
Serie A: 2006β07, 2007β08, 2008β09
Supercoppa Italiana: 2006, 2008
Barcelona:
La Liga: 2009β10
Supercopa de EspaΓ±a: 2009, 2010
UEFA Super Cup: 2009
FIFA Club World Cup: 2009
Milan:
Serie A: 2010β11
Supercoppa Italiana: 2011
Paris Saint-Germain:
Ligue 1: 2012β13, 2013β14, 2014β15, 2015β16
Coupe de France: 2014β15, 2015β16
Coupe de la Ligue: 2013β14, 2014β15, 2015β16
TrophΓ©e des Champions: 2013, 2014, 2015
Manchester United:
EFL Cup: 2016β17
FA Community Shield: 2016
compared to Totti's:
Serie A (1): 2000β01
Coppa Italia (2): 2006β07, 2007β08
Supercoppa Italiana (2): 2001, 2007
UEFA European Under-21 Championship: 1996
Mediterranean Games (Under-23): 1997
FIFA World Cup: 2006
Runner-up:
Serie A (8): 2001β02, 2003β04, 2005β06, 2006β07, 2007β08, 2009β10, 2013β14, 2014β15
Coppa Italia (5): 2002β03, 2004β05, 2005β06, 2009β10, 2012β13
Supercoppa Italiana (3): 2006, 2008, 2010
UEFA European Under-16 Championship: 1993
UEFA European Under-18 Championship: 1995
UEFA European Championship: 2000
Now, would I argue Zlatan was a better player than Totti? Not necessarily. But Totti had the chance to push himself multiple echelons above Zlatan by winning more trophies. Top level footballers, the ones that are considered the greatest, are the ones that win lots and lots and lots of shit.
By JuveFan Go To PostDo you think madrid have won any game with amazing tactics under Zidane?Yesterday was his most impressive tactical performance I think, though I can't say for sure that they didn't just play the same way they always play, and Atletico played into their hands massively by pissing about in the centre all match long

Its crazy that Simeone persisted with that for the entire game. Atletico were creating fuck all by doing it, and it was putting them under huge pressure every time a move broke down
