Hard to say how much of that can be fixed in-house: can Christensen step up as a valuable option? Could Azpilicueta improve on the promise he's showing going forward and replace Moses? Will Fabregas stay as an incredibly good option to have?
The number being floated around is 200m for the summer transfer window but no one seems to know if that's gross spend or net spend (hoping the latter). Conte apparently wants at least 6 new signings so we have two "world class" players at each position so I reckon all of those you mentioned are a go. As well as a backup GK in the (all but certain) event of Bego's departure. I hope Christensen comes good (I know very little about him), Azpilicueta has always been great going forward, and god I hope Fabregas stays - he's turned into Proper Chels this second half of the season.
Some of the names being thrown around are proper madness though. I'm seeing us linked to David Alaba, Verratti, Alex Sandro, Bernardo Silva, James Rodriguez, et. al and players of that quality so if it were up to me, sign him up. One name that I am weary about though is Virgil van Djik. Granted I do not know much about him but he is injured now and we'd have to spend upwards of 50m to nab him... is he really a player of that quality? I'd rather have Laporte who we were also linked with, or another cheaper option.
Former Newcastle United youth coach George Ormond has been charged with 29 sex offences, police have said. The 61-year-old, of Newton Abbot, Devon, is alleged to have committed the offences between 1973 and 1998. He is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on 9 June, Northumbria Police said.
Ormond is the first person to be charged as part of Operation Tide, which was set up late last year to look into allegations of child sex abuse at football clubs in the North East.
Good to see they have started charging some of these people.
