The plot is so damn stupid, so many fortuitous things have to happen in order for the evil plan to be successful.
Edit: also the movie's concept of time is so screwed. They travel so much and do so many things in 1h intervals.

Finchers cinematography is just great. I like all of his films (except Gone Girl). They look incredible on Blu-ray. His mounted camera shots and lack of camera sway plays to the format so well.

Like around the world in like an hour or something like that. It's very early in the book and probably didn't make the film.

Its quite interesting how Langdon is barely a character. He's clever and knowledgable, but doesn't really have any personality traits. Events from his past are shoved into the story only to add the bare minimum of context to whichever character is being introduced without Brown having to do any actual work creating chemistry. Why build a relationship between two characters when you can just tell the reader that they already have one?
Its the Lost Symbol that is fucking terrible, can't remember what Inferno is about or if I've read it. They kinda blend into one.
Hate Dan Brown. I thought Da Vinci Code was alright until I read Angels and Demons and realised it had the same sequence of events happening, with just a different theme. Not to mention Langdon is essentially a romance novel protagonist. Smart, sexy, with barely any faults.
Not to mention both books starts of by claiming that the sequence of events will change everything yet concludes with not so much an effect to the world. Fucking whimpers of endings.

Saw Guardians 2 last night, fun prequel. They did slightly overdo the things that made the first one so good though. A bit less nose on with the humour would have suited it better.

I saw Mad Max in cinemas again. Black and Chrome. It isn't as good as with colour due to said colours being so vibrant, but there are a few moments where its starkness makes for some really beautiful images.
Anyway, further confirmation its the best action film of the 21st century. Sixth time seeing it and I just grow to love it more and more.

I've not read the books but I'm reliably informed that it deviates from the source material enough to do its own thing. The first series only covers the first 200 pages of the book, too.
