Haha, sneakers is huge on the internet mate. During my student years I wasn't really able to spend money on sneakers most of the time. Picked up some blazers mid and these Jordans this year.
I purchase about 2-3 sneakers per year, these NBs were by far my favorite purchase this year. They were sold out the second they released, had to pick them up from StockX.
It's a blessing and a curse really. I like the idea of wearing sneakers not every bloody person has. But it's also near impossible to cop a pair you like at a reasonable price.
i don't even care about having something nobody else has but the ones i like best tend to be the ones you can't get easily lol.

But I also often pick them up when on sale or using coupons and shit to bring it down to like $80 per shoe.

I used to clean them when newly bought to get it as pure as possible and then spray it with Nikwax or something similar to ward it off for dirt, wetness etc.. and then clean them when they got dirty. The Nikwax made sure the dirt didn't stick as much.
Nowadays I just clean them once a month with a little kit I bought online.
I think the key is just to have a variety of pairs so you can mix them up and don’t wear them down one at a time. And indeed, concerning white kicks I definitely keep in mind what I’m gonna do. Fine for work days or going to someone’s house. But if there’s a chance I end up in a club or bars I usually don’t wear them and just pick a pair that handles people standing on them better.

I use my Cloud shoes for going out long-term because they're the most lightweight (working, going on a trip, etc) then I wear my other shoes based on what I'm wearing for that day for short term stuff like going to the gym or getting dinner with someone or whatever. This spreads out the wear a little better over time. And so far, the grime comes right off my Pumps.
If they get a little beat up over time though, I don't mind. I buy them to wear them.

But from what I read they are well insulated, and that is gonna suck here because of the humidity when it rains during the summer. Would basically be buying these for winter.

Actually this colour way is based on college. It is the fraternity of Michael Jordon. The first all black one, Omega Psi Phi. Shaq was a member too while at LSU.
