I rarely drink any coffee but if I have to it's always an Americano
people who say they drink black coffee just want to impress other people and pretend to be coffee elitists.

My dad is an old ass white man. He doesn't need to impress anyone and he drinks his black AF

All joking aside, most bitter flavors are an acquired taste. I'm not really a coffee drinker per se, but i do enjoy a nice espresso black with no sugar. It's a quick shot or two and you're done. I like an Americano as well. IMO it's s more flavorful cup than plain ole drip and you have more control
Since the water is an addition.
At home I have a Keurig and just use whatever flavors come in a variety pack.
When I go to a coffee shop I get an Americano
Turkish coffee is probably my favorite. I don't know why I don't drink it besides when I'm in Macedonia lol.

I make that at home. If I am out then it is espresso, cappuccino, and If there is a place that offers it, espresso with a shot of sambuca or grappa.
Latte with a double shot of espresso, needs to be proper coffee. Three sugars.
If I'm hungover, I take it black.

As long as it's high-quality I drink it black.
If it's shit all bets are off.
If I'm having espresso I'm a sucker for a good mocha.

moka pot, usually a dark roast blend from lavazza (crema e gusto) or local, a bit of milk and a tsp. of sugar.
Lots of sugar and cream or it's borderline undrinkable. In other words, as a frappuccino or incorporated into a (chocolate) dessert. I much prefer tea.
Though pitch-black coffee does work wonders if you want an instantaneous boost of energy to start your day.

Burr grinder + french press. My latest fav roaster is Coava.
Wait, are you in Portland? I used to work across the street from Coava.
I don't really drink coffee except once every couple months when I crave a caramel granita. Not even sure that counts as coffee.
By reilo Go To PostMy man.Went to high school in Vancouver, then lived around Oly (Evergreen State College alumni), now in Bend. Have family and friends in Portland and go over there once a month at least.

My favorite local joint uses Coava, they got me hooked.
You still in PDX?
No shit! That's awesome.
Nah, I'm in San Francisco as of two years ago. I found a local grocery near where I live that carries Stumptown, so I'm good. I'll also do an order of Sisters or a special Stumptown blend from time to time. I'm gonna guess once the New Seasons opens up down here, my hope is they'll offer some more Oregon goodies.

Nice! Seems the migration pattern is more Bay Area->Oregon than the other way around. I'd definitely count on New Seasons having some Oregon goodies. FWIW, seems like Whole Paycheck always has some pretty decent NW choices. They even carry my favorite from Oly, Batdorf and Bronson.
Just went to Sisters the other day for some coffee and grub. That place has grown so much, almost like a super teeny PDX neighborhood instead of a rural town.

WF in SF does carry quite a bit of Oregon bits but mostly on the alcohol side and a few food related things like Dave's Killer Bread. But having a New Seasons in town gonna be soooo nice. Just need a Fred Meyer and I'll never move back.
We actually have several really good roasters here in OKC, Coffee Slingers in particular.
I'd be down for a whole bean exchange if anyone else is interested.

Something akin to the beer exchanges I did on that other forum.
Set a reasonable price limit ($50 seems like plenty for coffee) and ship local beans to another SLAENTer in exchange for some from their area.
I've had Stumptown before but I wouldn't turn more down. Coava sounds cool too.

I don't know if there is anything notable down here now that Community Coffee is easily available, but I would participate in exchange for preservatives/jams/jellies.
black, not really an elitist about it though. only drink one when offered.
i love everything with sugar in it and i drink sodas but a little bit of sugar and the coffee just feels gross and way too sweet.
PDX sounds like a super lame name for Portland
