In a good way? DS2 was pretty stale imo
I am guessing he means in a good way. I have never played 2 but so far I think I might like Bloddborne better than 1 even with the poorly balanced beginning but I won't be able to fully judge it till later.
Paul Gascoine down on the 2nd attempt. His human form was easy to parry. His beast form was Artorias with rabies so i baited the cunt into the stairwell railing and hit him with a few charged R2 attacks.
Go home and eat a kebab, m8
So far, this is Dark Souls with a smidgen of Demon's. Easy to get turned around in the early areas with how many shortcuts you can open and how the areas loop around and into each other. Loving it despite the frame judder and horrible fucking Chromatic Aberation. That shit is worse than PS3 Quincunt AA. Makes me feel like i'm going blind and causes me some uncomfortable eye-strain.
By rvy Go To PostWait a sec.
You can parry?
Shoot just as the enemy attacks, should put them on their knees. R1 will hurt them a ton.
I'm level 21 and I've only fought the first boss once, am I doing it wrong?
I'm honestly scared of anything bigger than a standard dude. That pig was easy though
I didn't even know there was a second lantern before the Cleric Demon or whatever his name is, is it on the bridge? ;_;
Oh and I'm level 13, lol
Yeah just beat Father Gascoigne second try. I mostly used the tombstones at first to cheese him while he kept swiping at air. Then did a counter with the gun (completely by accident) and it did like 30% HP when he was wolf form. Hit him a few more times and done.
Did anyone else find the armour in the sewers? Is it better than the default hunter garb?

If you go left on the bridge you will eventually come back around to the gate that was locked next to the first lantern.

Absolutely!
I liked DS2 but I felt like it brought nothing relatively new to the series. Sure, a few tweaks here and there, but not much else. And if you remember, I was VERY critical of the boss fights and the enemy designs, they looked bland as fuck
Now BB on other hand, hohoHO, they'll go batshit crazy by the time you reach the 5th boss

It's way too good, I still can't find anything better, and I'm in World FOUR!

sometimes it's not about finding a new lantern but more about unlocking shortcuts TO an old lantern
P.S. I'm so proud of you superior Rhodes
By DY_nasty Go To PostOkay - where the hell do I go to level up.
After you are either killed by the first boss or if you take it out your first try. The doll from the hunter's dream comes to life, she upgrades your stats.
By DY_nasty Go To PostOkay - where the hell do I go to level up.
If you don't want to fight the first boss first, you can go to the sewers through the path with the dog. Down the bottom with the rats, you can find something to give you insight. Means going back to Hunter's Dream will let you level up.
Fought the cleric beast for the first time, got my ass handed to me because I accidentally switched from my weapon to my fists. The camera isn't great in that fight either.

So I beat the first boss, completely by force, rather than skill.
I got that armour from the sewers too.
So relieved to have found another lantern. I must have done that first area like 20 times.

*heavy breathing*
So I was fighting the last boss
And, I dunno, I kinda felt like I've missed SOMETHING...something felt OFF, so I said fuck it and deliberately offed myself and then went and looked up the bosses wiki and guess what
I've missed like 5 or 6 optional bosses..FUCKING HELL WELL YOU SHOULDA SAID SOMETHING BLOODBORNE
Phew well that was close! Moral of the story, go outta your way to look for the hidden bosses, I didn't. (well I did but not well enough)
If you kill everyone you get an extra optional boss

Beat the second boss, I'm on a roll!
@Moris It was right at the bottom to the far end. Guarded by some big dude. I had to watch a YouTube video to find it.

Yurty-poo, I bought the saw spear, is it harmful to have two weapons and upgrade them both?
Was going to get the cleaver, but the spear scales equally with strength and skill, so I thought it would be better for me.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThose fucking wolfs on the bridge...
The game is amazing, but man, I need a break.
Lure them out and get inside the house down the stairs. They won't be able to reach you there and you can kill those bastards.
By rvy Go To PostDoes the music box do anything to Gascoigne?
yes, freaks him out for a bit, gives you like one free attack. didn't found it very useful tbh.

Sounds like a neat touch more than a useful tool. Thanks.
keep talking/coming back to the first house in Central Y-etc with the red lantern or you'll miss a key item for a whole optional area, with its own (kinda massive for the plot) boss
Christ From Software loool
@Lego
If you're going full on Skill like me don't bother with Strength weapons. You'll get another awesome Skill weapon later on
Way late, unfortunately
Does the Spear scale nicely with Skill too? I'll try it out then!
Increasing my skill seems to have an equal effect to the cane and the spear, for me, it's small though, like +2 attack per level.
Is that normal?
Okay, so I got all the way to Father Gascoigne. :lol paul pls
anyway, he killed me quite easily ;_; I managed to get a few hits in, but he just uppercutted me and wiped me out :(
Still havent managed to beat Cleric Demon, lol. I tried to throw a few molotovs at him but I kept hitting the carriage on the side :lol ;_;
