I think both Washington and Utah close it out tonight.
Kind of on the fence with CHI/BOS... I feel like Boston should win but this series has been wacky.

Round 1 could end tonight...that would leave no games on Sunday, which would feel weird.
I like Washington to close it out. I'm half wondering if Paul read that Ringer article and is going to try going supernova tonight. Chicago seems the most likely to win a game tonight...the lights to go out midway through the 3rd quarter..."that's Rajon Rondo's music!"

If the Jazz just hit their open shots and Crawful doesnt go off they will probably win. Therefore i think we somehow lose.
Diehard, reading your posts depress me. It's like you are rooting for the 13-14 team that won 25 games. You have a good squad. Enjoy it.

Winning one playoff round in 9 years can tend to bring a guy down. Believe me, I know.
I get very nervous during games and depressed after a loss and it sucks, i try to do everything i can prior to be prepared and lessen that.

This is not the way. Life is short, eras where your team is any good are even shorter. Stunt 2 the max when you can. And when you lose, just go read Knicks RealGM to put everything in perspective. They're the one constant in this topsy turvy universe.
Eh, I get it. I used to get way too emotionally invested in sports. Then I watched the Lakers lose to Boston in the finals... but because we won b2b the next 2 years I went in hard again. Then I watched the 49ers lose the Super Bowl. Ever since then, I've learned to to not get so high and low with anything. I think it helps that both the Lakers and 49ers are garbage right now though.
I won't even know until tomorrow if we won or lost. In a horrible moment of zero foresight, I booked a night for me in the kids in a cabin in the got dang woods. There won't be any data there, so I'm not streaming or even checking scores on anything until late Saturday. Mistakes were made.
By s y Go To PostHope everything works out for the Ball clan.
He shouldn't be knocked for wanting his own shit for his sons/himself.
Idk, obviously thats a huge paycheck if his kid signs with Nike/Addidas, but what if BBB actually takes off? Thats huge.
At the same time, I dont know Lavarr and his intentions. Isn't it possible to sign with a company but still build your own brand a la Jordan/Kobe/Bron?
Every year HoF talent hits the NBA and they flop... nobody giving a player a brand like that. Shit they would have told LBJ to kick rocks too if he did that out of highschool

I did not watch ESPN or read sports news, and try my darndest to stay away from NBA forums. Fanaticism can be draining, and when your team loses, a break is needed.

That's ALL it took for you to take a sabbatical as a Lakers fan? FOH
By reilo Go To Post*areyoufuckingkiddingme*Yes. 2003 was rough. The Lakers lost to the Spurs with everyone crying on the bench. Then minutes later I'm watching The Matrix Reloaded on release day. I didn't cry because I was stunned by how bad it was.

2004 was rough. The Kobe trial, him playing through it, Dereck's .4 shot, then getting beat down by Detroit.
2008 was weird. I was working my first real job, we had Pau for a few months, everything was good, then we go into Boston for the finals and paul pierce pulls that wheelchair shit and once again, the team gets a beat down, this time from the big 4 of Boston. I was not at home for a few of those games and was listening on the radio while driving for work. My heart was torn by that series.
Informed I'm among ESPN's layoffs. But basketball, as they say, never stops. To readers/viewers/listeners/countless colleagues … grateful
Yup :/
It's easier not to take things to heart when your team has never been successful.
Stein gets fired but that hack Windhorst is still employed? lel

Didn't see it posted earlier, but apparently Henry Abbott got fired too.
Brutal. He's a huge reason for the modern basketball writing landscape.
Nm. Just saw the post in the ESPN-specific thread.

Yo. We get over it fast and go to the beach. Attention spans are short in LA. Only us fucking nutters who follow closely and and care enough to post on forums feel real pain.

You would love it out here by da beach. Tail everywhere. Melt your pain away and turn that spots frown upside down
Looking at the stat comparisons is scary...
Kawhi is as good or is getting better than peak Kobe Bryant... And he is 4 years younger than 08/09 peak Kobe... Boy is only 25, gets Lebron and the entire league shook.

Man, ATL are throwing everything at the wiz here in the 3rd, and the wiz are holding their lead admirably.

Brad has been a superstar. Concerned about him going to the bench.
Was inevitable that they'd go on a run
Start the quarter with Jennings, Brad, Otto, Oubre, Smith please

brooks is terrified by fouls
millsap has played nearly a whole quarter with 4 fouls but we cant bring otto and brad (4 each) to start the 4th after sitting the second half of the third

It's crazy how much of difference not having Rondo made. The Celtics would have been swept with him out there.
