By blackace Go To PostNO ONE saw the Bulls taking two in Boston off rip..Sure.
But when Chi have the best player in the series (Buttler) predicting a sweep indicates Smartness.
boston's gloomy as hell rn. like i'd normally go all in for defending a pick but i'm with chuck tbh
i don't even like watching them try to play

By DY_nasty Go To Postboston's gloomy as hell rn. like i'd normally go all in for defending a pick but i'm with chuck tbhBoston sweeping wasn't ridiculous. Your reasons were legit. Buttler and wade could have gone for 70, 20, 12 between them, and then just checked the fuck out as a fuck you to hoiberg and say to Rondo "Go for it breh, YEW KEN DO IIIITT".
i don't even like watching them try to play
But IT2 is obviously not there, understandably. And that basically fucks Bostons offense. Because outside of him, they don't have any guards that can create on their own.

I was >this< close to picking the Bulls in that series, and mentioned it a couple of times on here. In the end it was not trusting Rondo, and not being sure how healthy Wade would be that held me back. So I can't say I would have thought the Bulls could take both in Boston, but I don't have much respect for that Celtics roster. They're so ordinary, and they lucked into that 1 seed so hard when both Toronto & Cleveland went through major slumps out of the blue.
Don't believe me? Guess how many Eastern Conference playoff teams the Celtics won the season series against?
A: Only two. Milwaukee & Indiana.
Everybody forgot that the only reason Brad Stevens rates as a coach in the first place is because his signature achievement was coaching that roster to a playoff spot. People couldn't believe it. I don't get any credit because I didn't make the pick either, but I'm definitely not shocked out of my chair with what's happening here.

I don't put it on IT at all. I put it on Chicago having 3 of the 4 best players on the floor and shortened rotations reducing the effectiveness of Boston's army of interchangeable journeymen.

Yeah, fair enough. It's not like the Bulls are without flaws.
If you showed me this last week, I would have said it was an Onion article:

I wonder how Phil would have handled coaching Westbrook. In hindsight he did an amazing job with Kobe. Give him that much.
By Kibner Go To PostAs many shots in a quarter that a lot of stars take in a game.Quite right. Harden went for 7-17.
Wonder what goes through the heads of Gibson (3-6), Roberson (6-12), Adams (2-3), Grant (2-4), McDermott (4-5) and Kanter (2-4) when their facilitator decides to jack up 43 attempts instead of involving them in the offense.
Lord help the Rockets if Donovan and Westbrook ever figure out how to use Gibson/Kanter/Adams in the post, Roberson's cutting, Grant's corner 3s or McDermott's shooting.
By Trey Go To PostDoes anyone have video of Harden crossing the life out of Singler at the end of the second quarter? The one where he got blocked? :\
By chandlerparsons Go To PostQuite right. Harden went for 7-17.nothing. they dont have the juice to question it just because they had a rare good night.

Hey Gondo, has Clay Bennett ever did an interview recently (last year or two) about the Harden trade? Has he commented at all on it?
By chandlerparsons Go To PostQuite right. Harden went for 7-17.18 players in the regular season took 18 or more shots per game. The highest was Westbrook at 24.
By domino Go To Postnothing. they dont have the juice to question it just because they had a rare good night. If you think those stats were me showing them having a good night..
Gibson, Grant and McDermott have regressed in production since moving to OKC. Kanter and Adams had worse than average performances. Roberson's the only one on that list you could say that about.
If Harden and co. could turn a sub-50 FG% C in Capela into the third most efficient big in the league, there's really no excuse for the complete and utter underutilisation of the offensive pieces Westbrook has around him.
The most frustrating thing is that he was doing it in the first half. 20 points, 10 assists. Had a 15 point lead at one stage. It boggles my mind why you'd shift away from that, when you're capable and you were winning when you did it.
By chandlerparsons Go To PostThe one where he got blocked? :\
Why he do that boy like that? Crossed him from the top of the key into the front row.
By Trey Go To PostWhy he do that boy like that? Crossed him from the top of the key into the front row. When Klay makes you look silly......
The team around him is stunted by Russball. They’re out of rhythm from 47 minutes of being uninvolved — and out of practice from a season where all strategy besides Westbrook has been abandoned. So they turn back to Russ, who just hoists hopelessly.https://theringer.com/2017-nba-playoffs-oklahoma-city-thunder-houston-rockets-russell-westbrook-game-2-1ecf0a06e62
One can imagine this Thunder roster being competitive with Westbrook functioning like a normal superstar. Instead, he’s turned into the crazed captain of his ship, and his insistence on trying to catch the white whale on every possession will lead to disaster.
That's... a great way of putting it lol

eh ima wait for the details
Westbrook has a 52 USG% in the Playoffs 😷
Michael Jordan holds the record at 39.6 USG% all the way back to 1986.

Terrible stuff, always liked Withey because he was a great college player, but he's total garbage and should go to prison if this is true.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostHey Gondo, has Clay Bennett ever did an interview recently (last year or two) about the Harden trade? Has he commented at all on it?No. The franchise acts like Harden doesn't exist which is honestly weak and petty as hell.
Abrines broke Harden's rookie record for threes made in a season and there was no mention of whose record he broke. When Waiters was traded to the Thunder he wanted to wear 13 but wasn't allowed to for some Harden-related reason.
He's hardly even mentioned on the OKC broadcast when we play the Rockets, and certainly never in the context of "former Thunder player James Harden."
Makes me 🙄.
For the re-brand, they should just take on a more appropriate name and call themselves the Oklahoma City Petty Motherfuckers
As long as it comes with a better logo I'm down.
On the other hand, the way the Durant departure was handled (at least from the franchise level) was as graceful as could be expected. Presti gave a press conference thanking Durant for his service and only spoke positively about his time here.
The Harden stuff is weird. The team's PR and media approach resembles that of North Korea.

There's been plenty written and even spoken about by Durant this season about how secretive/controlling the Thunder PR department is. Durant actually enjoys talking to reporters and giving interviews but most of the time the Thunder PR department handles the situation like a republican White House.

By shun Go To PostWould the fans be the mascot in that case?Their existing buffalo mascot is like the one thing I don't hate about the Thunder brand.
By Kibner Go To PostTheir existing buffalo mascot is like the one thing I don't hate about the Thunder brand.Yeah, Rumble is great. The only element of their branding that they nailed.
I've come to like the blue away uniforms (even if they could use some refinement) but yeah. Everything else, from the logo to the overall visual approach is so bland and corporate.

I'm sure it's refreshing for Durant to be in a different environment, but let's also not take anything he says at face value. He has been known to lash out at media in the past.
I don't mind the Thunder as a brand. But the colour scheme is horrendous in general.
The blue they use is fine, but just about everything else is complete mediocrity.
