the guy is just soft moist ass dude
Cavs chipping is gonna be fun to watch
By giririsss Go To PostWell. I mean. He's right.
Yeah, I'm...not detecting the lies.
My problem with the whole "he's not a tough guy, he went to a stacked team" thing is that in real life everybody chooses the stacked team in the more fun city. Nobody's like "well, as a 28 year old man I could take the job at Oracle in the exciting city with a million hot women and a mountain of opportunities for side ventures, but I feel too darn loyal to the good folks here at Albuquerque IT Solutions. If I just man up I'm sure we can beat them and Microsoft!"
KD is everything wrong with the world. Supposed to be one of the top 3 players in the NBA and you got to a 73 win team that already has 3 stars. I'm not saying go to the Knicks or Lakers but come on, there's plenty of teams one piece away from being Finals contenders, your previous team being one of them considering you had a 3-1 lead.
Everyone gave LeBron shit for the "Heatles" yet we're supposed to be okay with this beta ass dude taking the bitchest option of all-time?

It's not that he went to a stacked team, he went to literally the greatest regular season team in the history of basketball that he was up 3-1 iin the WCF to. A team that didn't need him in any way. at all. He hopped on a bandwagon.
I'd assume that somebody at KD's level doesn't look at the NBA as just his dayjob, I would have assumed that he was passionate about it, that in addition to it being his business, it was also his craft. That he would want to beat them(which he just about did). Nobody cares if scrubs like David West ring chase, because he's nobody. But the MVP? nah, you deserve the criticism. He took the shortcut/easy way out.
If you wanna use the "everybody wants a better job" excuse then that means KD is as passionate about his job and as competitive as the customer service rep that hates his job.

I would respect him a lot more if he would stop being so defensive about it. But he can't admit to himself that he took the easy way to a probable ring.
The reasons he went there are obvious. He has constructed all sorts of bullshit narratives in his head though.

By KingGondo Go To PostIf you can't see the difference between what LeBron did and what Durant did…
Everybody said all of the exact same things. "Easy way out, not like back in the day, no competitive balance, league has no excitement now, not a real alpha," etc. etc.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostWhat about the rest of the post?
And lbj joined a team that couldnt get past the first round.
Not sure why you're being obtuse
By KingGondo Go To PostIf you can't see the difference between what LeBron did and what Durant did…
The exact equivalent for Lebron would have been joining the Celtics or Lakers, but even though the Heat were bad he joined a top 5 player in Wade and knew Bosh was coming.
Like LeBron, if he wins, he'll get grudging respect from most haters, and if he loses, he'll get endless shit for it.
LeBron left a team that was well short of greatness to make something new in Miami. The fit was a bit odd too since he and Wade were both ball-heavy players. Took a couple years to really figure things out and while they were great, they had real competition. The Heat needed Bron to contend.
Durant left a team that had a 3-1 lead on his current squad (that one of his current teammates admitted was better) and just slid in to replace Harrison Barnes. This is the same team that set an NBA record for wins last season. They don't need Durant.
There is literally nothing he could have done to make the situation easier for himself. He decapitated the Warriors' biggest threat and joined them himself. Walder Frey-esque.

Because as shit as the WC playoffs were, the current Cavs squad is a tough opponent, especially with how well LeBron/Love are playing (better than last year).
By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostBecause as shit as the WC playoffs were, the current Cavs squad is a tough opponent, especially with how well LeBron/Love are playing (better than last year).Yeah, no way the 73-9 2015-2016 Warriors stand a chance against the 2017 Cavs. No.Way. Lucky they got KD amirite?
By s y Go To PostWhat about the rest of the post?
That gif adress every last word of it. Lebron was on a Cavs team that had the best record in the league. He was the reigning 3x MVP. He could have taken the money, stayed there in his hometown and "been a real man" trying to get it done on his own and avoided all the criticism. But he realized it was a death sentence because no other all stars were showing up, just like KD staying on that shallow OKC team would have been (see: Westbrook, Russell 2016-2017).
And if anything, it's less of a given that these Warriors dethrone Lebron than those Heat chipping was.
And lbj joined a team that couldnt get past the first round.

Lol, come on with the "plucky underdog first round team" stuff.
I know the multiversal shift to the Trump timeline messed up a lot of things, but this all still happened:
WHAT THE FUCK, NO.
The Warriors are the best team of all time.
They added the best player in the league to a 73 win team.

I like how everyone willlinlgly admits the OKC FO is bad, but loves to say OKC were up 3-1. They lost in the WCF like they have in every WCF since their FO has started tearing the team down.

warriors dont even know what a difficult matchup is yet
the finals isn't the time to figure out who should be getting the ball in the most serious situations. Cavs in 6
ask the heat about what happened against dallas--they couldn't get their shit together in time to win the series despite having the better talent

Don't mean a thing without that ring. But on paper? Hell yeah.
KD took a shot at being a key member of what could very well be the best NBA team ever assembled - and let's make it clear, without winning the championship that 73-9 team categorically cannot have already been that - with a chance at owning the record books for the rest of his life and being set forever with Silicon Valley connections. Like really, spending the rest of his prime in Oklahoma and hoping against hope that the third all star they need decides to come play there and then what, they win how many rings in an era where Lebron & Curry are cruising with stacked teams? Maybe one if they're lucky? And if that other star doesn't show up then people just spend forever saying "Lol KD couldn't get it done." How does that show he's a real winner?
I get it. People think his legacy is tainted now, he'll never be able to prove he was really the man, Steph's shadow will linger over him. But where else was he going to go? Boston? DC? Golden State was his only real choice if he was serious about winning it all. And if they're as good as you think they are, all the "LOL, beta" people will disappear real fast if he's actually wearing 3-4 rings at the end of this, except for the internet circus clowns who think MJ's not actually that good because he had Pippen (or vice versa).
Comparisons with the Heat are relative. Those Heat were easily the best team in the league on paper too, people thought it was a slam dunk they'd wrecked competitive balance. Every last thing that's being said - right down to the best team ever statements - was being said about them back in 2010 too.

Warriors didn't have the same issues as Miami. outside of the very first game of the season, the Warriors have dominated. The Heat had an infamously mediocre start.
can we please stop talking about how Durant ditching OKC to ring chase with the Dubs sets a precedent?

That's what I'm talking about! Lakers just hire those regular doctors, while Phoenix medical staff was like:

KD on this warriors squad could win 2 or 3 rings. Durant will go down as an all timer with that on his resume: he's already one of the best talents this league has ever seen.

I want to see Lebron do it. The Warriors are so stacked it would be a legendary feat. Like you guys say, Golden State winning is just as-expected.
i dislike about half of the Warriors team so i'm going for the Cavs but i dont think it matters, ive accepted the Warriors winning already.
They sim'd every team getting LeBron.
