By reilo Go To PostSteps isn't the best pure shooter of all time already? Come on.
not only the best pure shooter, but one of the best scorers ever. people obviously notice his 3 point shooting, but his capability of scoring tough shots from anywhere on the court is otherworldly. he can finish at the rim, create his own shot, create space for everyone else off ball, great midrange, great free throw shooter. also his effective range is damn near at half court.

would bet on GS for the emotional hedge (Durant can't be allowed to win, ever), but I also think the Cavs will win, so I'm conflicted
better off getting free money on the -500 for fultz to go #1 overall
By Kuma Go To PostSteph one of best scorer currently in NBA. All time? Nah I am not putting him in that conversation.
Nobody in the NBA has had Curry's scoring versatility from everywhere on the court. Last season literally was never seen before.

one season isn't good enough though
being efficient is what makes him the best shooter of all time, and he's a great scorer, but hasn't had enough high scoring seasons for me to put him a GOAT scorers list
He has 13,000 points at age 28 and a career average of 22.8PPG. Dirk, for example, was a 22.3PPG with 15,000 points at age 28 (and only reason Curry doesn't have more is because of his two injury riddled seasons) for his career. If you said Dirk wasn't an elite scorer at that time, you were lying.

Sometimes you hear great duos referred to as Batman and Robin. Kobe was Shaq's Robin, Pippen was MJ's, etc.
Durant is more of an Oracle.
Steph will go down as a GOAT scorer.
Shit hakeem had 2 GOAT seasons and is in a top 10 C's of all time list.

I don't see how you can look at Currys last 3 seasons including these playoffs and not see how his scoring threat has completely warped the game. The gravity he has off ball is unprecedented.
If that doesn't rate as being one of the greatest scorers, then the only argument is longevity. Which I can understand, but not agree with.

By unknown Go To PostHe has not been as good as that first year of the three though.
His first year was MVP tier, his second season was one of the greatest scoring seasons in NBA history, and this season was a shade less efficient than his first MVP year. All in all one of the most efficient and game breaking scoring runs in history.
I mean, Steph Curry and Draymond Green won a title in 2015 and then won 73 games in 2016.
AI... did not do these things.

i just hate on curry because of KD tbh
Through 8 seasons: Top scoring seasons based on points per possession with more than 1500 points through their first 8 years in the league (Curry just finished his 8th regular season):
1. MJ
2. MJ
3. MJ
4. MJ
5. Curry
6. Isaiah Thomas (Boston)
7. Bernard King
8. T-Mac
9. Durant
10. Wade
Though of course such a list is going to be hard on scorers prior to the 3pt era. Hard to sort in a way to try to balance that. If you sort based on just straight up shots made from any range per possession the list changes completely. Curry hits #20 and Shaq gets multiple slots in the top 10.
MJ is such a gawd though

would be nice if the wiz could have gilbert somehow involved with the organization but he's probably the most immature dude on the planet
Am I the only guy here other than Dubs fans who doesn't hate KD? Like, okay, getting emo in front of the press isn't cool, but I would have done exactly the same thing in his shoes WRT free agency. Hell, I would have done it sooner. And man, he is good.

"Like I'm the reason why (expletive) Orlando couldn't make the playoffs for five, six years in a row? Am I the reason that Brooklyn gave all their picks to Boston? Like, am I the reason that they're not that good (laughs). I can't play for every team, so the truth of the matter is I left one team. It's one more team that you probably would've thought would've been a contender. One more team. I couldn't have made the (entire) East better. I couldn't have made everybody (else) in the West better."
^ kd
the guy is just soft moist ass dude
Cavs chipping is gonna be fun to watch
RINGZ culture is to blame, not KD.
But KD is the best example of why RINGZ culture is toxic and horrible.
KD is the best player in the NBA, him winning or not winning a title this year shouldn't change his legacy at all... But it does so KD went to the Warriors.

Let some of these players finish their careers before jacking them up to GOAT status.
