I think it's more telling that they couldn't find a use for a .350 3pt shooter that can rebound.
I kind of think it is more telling that he has been on 6 different teams in a 9 year career..

Except that he's been pretty productive as a spacing and shooting big. He manages to be decent on most teams, except OKC. I wonder why that is.
Playoff teams would be lucky to have him off their bench.
By blackace Go To PostI kind of think it is more telling that he has been on 6 different teams in a 9 year career..The injuries seemed to kill any athleticism he had, so he can't defend like he could when he was a buck.
Which sucks, because he would have been a perfect stretch 4 other wise.

So three guys putting up very similar numbers, but two of them were on teams winning a lot more?
Russ's year wouldn't have been less insane if he was 20,9.9,10. The trip dub thing was so inane.

if he was so decent then why does everyone want to get rid of him lol
he's the guy that's on every gms board until they see he's discount jeff green and they pawn him off on the next gm that doesn't watch games
It's not even just that, one dude got the rest of these bum ass dudes involved and bought in a system, that wasn't guaranteed to work, and became a top 2 offense this year and a top 10 offense of all time.
I don't even like Harden, I think his game is frustratingly ugly to watch and his behavior is questionable. But I can't doubt the work and maturity he put this year to bring it together.

I understand the logic, but what he did was an amazing feat.. and trying to say a 20/9/10 season is the same thing makes sense but it isn't true..
Like Magic in 82 averaged an 19/9/9 and that's an insane statline but it isn't a triple double..

Trading him for a better player in Tobias Harris when he went from Pistons to Orlando? Being salary match fodder so OKC could dump Ibaka for Oladipo on a team that already had a lot of front court players and a GM who has no clue what to do.
OKC was the only actual non productive team because OKC sits on talent.
Atlanta needed an upgrade, Tiago Splitter wasn't doing shit. Got robbed of 2 second round picks but got a pretty decent player out of it.

he only played 3 games in OKC, but OKC values D from their bigs to make up for Russ being trash on D so yeah he didn't fit..

It doesn't take away from the achievement of getting there. It just puts it into context.

I mean in the end of the day who exactly are the awards for? I feel they are more for the fans than for the "game" itself..
And doing something we have not seen for half a century will get people buzzing..

At the end of the day the awards are marketing.

reilo do you think Matthew Dellavedova is that? Or would a more apt comparison be Beno Udrih and Sasha Vujacic.

I don't get the media trying to stir up shit with the Adams screen on Beverly. Not only was there no cheap shot, it was perfectly clean. Adams may have been leaning forward a bit but was tilted that way the whole time running to the spot.
Considering they now affect player salaries?Basically any player in the running for the MVP makes an all-NBA team.. So think they are covered for that.

By blackace Go To Posthe only played 3 games in OKC, but OKC values D from their bigs to make up for Russ being trash on D so yeah he didn't fit..In 2015-16, Houston had a woeful team defense. In the off-season, I wanted Morey to do what Presti did: surround his star with defenders who could hide his weaknesses. What did Morey and Harden do instead? Hire D'Antoni, recruit Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon and the corpse of Nene Hilario.
And doing something we have not seen for half a century will get people buzzing..
I was dumbfounded, and Vegas and a bunch of the media had doubts that the Rockets could finish above OKC. Fast forward to the end of the regular season, and all doubt over Houston's decision to double-down on offense has evaporated, replaced by the narrative that Harden always had 'more help'.
Forget that D'Antoni was a has been coach. Forget that Gordon and Anderson were damaged goods. Be punished for embracing your strengths. Be punished for playing an active role in free agent recruitment. Be punished for buying into a new system and position. Be punished for building chemistry and motivating your teammates. That's what people are saying when they dismiss Harden's MVP candidacy by saying he had 'more help'.
And what Harden did this season hasn't been done in over half a century either..
By shun Go To PostIt's not even just that, one dude got the rest of these bum ass dudes involved and bought in a system, that wasn't guaranteed to work, and became a top 2 offense this year and a top 10 offense of all time.Ultimately I think it comes down to this. If Harden and his game were more likeable, he wouldn't be in a position where he loses the MVP race to a guy on a team that finished 10th.
I don't even like Harden, I think his game is frustratingly ugly to watch and his behavior is questionable. But I can't doubt the work and maturity he put this year to bring it together.

Seriously. This premature hand wringing that Westbrook might win the MVP is such a weird tone - similar to those purity arguments last year that Curry deserved MVP but didn't deserve it unanimously.
Harden and Westbrook both had great seasons, either are deserving to take a reprieve from their golfing trip to accept the trophy.
I'd be surprised if the Clippers don't win by at least 15 points in game 2. Jazz can't win the series without Gobert.
I liked Utah's chances before Gobert went down, but now....yea.
On the brightside Jazz homies, if any favored team is gonna be embarrassed in the playoffs, it's the Clippers.

This Lowry guy, saying he's going to just force up shots, because his teammates told him to be more aggressive. Dude sounded like the salt has clogged his arteries.
