When i hear "NBA Player" i think of it like when IWMTB where he means average NBA player, which Fultz probably wont be as a rookie.
I mean, Fultz is going to be one of the best trading chips in the NBA and Ainge could get a superstar right now for him so it's not like the strategy has turned out bad or anything.
Also, going full "win right now" means betting on LeBron declining next year which is certainly possible, but I don't know how to calculate the probability for it.
And that just gets you from the ECF to the Finals where you get punked again.

Doesn't GSW have to do something in 2 years? Not enough money for all 4 guys, correct?
Take Fultz, he will be good by then and Hayward will be in his prime.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostMarcus Smart having one of his six good games of the year (offensively) is just bad luck.
What about LeBron having one of his worst?

Also, Bradley is really really good. People need to stop fronting.
Apparently LeBron knew that last Bradley shot was going in because Cavs let Boston hang around.
Wonder if he knew coasting would help the Cavs lose.

.390 from 3, 77% from the FT line, good rebounding, ok AST, and probably an elite defender.
You put him next to any of the good point guards in the league and they'll be very happy.
By masud Go To PostWow… I didn't even consider watching basketball tonight. Wtf happened? Is IT that bad at defence?IT is that bad on defense and wasn't doing anything on offense, and the Celts started a guy who can play defense and scored 27 points on 14 shots. It was still the Cavs fault though.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostFultz couldn't lead Washington to a winning record, he's going to be one of the worst PGs in the league next year. He'll be great eventually, but rookies are bad, guys.exum cut you deep

Hayward was one of the best players in college basketball.
He averaged 5/2 as a rookie.
John Wall's first great year was in year 4.
Durant lead his team to a 40-124 record in his first two years.
Paul George and Kawhi Leonard were two of the best "immediate impact" players and they scored 8 PPG in their rookie seasons.
Anthony Davis was one of the best teenagers in league history and he still wasn't good because he was destroyed on defense every possession.
Harden was absolutely horrible until his 3rd year.
DeRozan needed like seven years to become great and was highly questionable value wise before then.
Guys like DAJ and Gobert obviously did nothing in their rookie seasons.
I'm going to have gone through most of the All-NBA team at this point...

Maybe you should watch him on the Santa Cruz Warriors
And looking at recent drafts instead of just superstars.
2016: Literally no one picked in the top 9 helped their team win, Thon Maker helped a little at the end?
2015: KAT, Porzingis, Winslow, this was good. But Winslow and KAT still had huge holes that made them questionable winning wise.
2014: None of the players picked in the top 10 have contributed more than a few wins to their team in their entire career so far.
2013: Every top 10 pick was horrible their rookie season even though some are good now.
2012: AD and Lillard were good, Beal and Drummond were OK. MKG hasn't developed into a good player, but he had a good rookie year.
2011: None of the top 10 picks contributed to wins their first year.
...I don't know.

You could make an argument that its because all the top guys go to terrible teams so its impossible to see their impact.. but its not a great argument.
2009 is one of the best drafts in NBA history and that had Tyreke Evans going against Brandon Jennings for RotY, lol.
Lacob and the new Arena will burn if Klay is not a Warrior for life.
If they even think about trading him you better replace him with fucking Kawhi Leonard or something. I guess CJ McCollum could work to...
But nah Klay gonna be part of the team his whole career. I will not stand to trade him.

They can't open the new arena with a declining team, they'll learn from how the 49ers handled it.
Don't forget Nike and UA have an interest in this too, they don't want to let the other have the Bay Area to themselves

This was at the end of his career when Brewer's confidence had been shattered, but there's few clips of Ronnie Brewer in the past and this does a decent job of approximating how Brewer's jumpshot looked like.
Brewer was the original Roberson and he tanked our chances against the Lakers year after year. Kobe would leave him in the corner to play free safety and Brewer would shoot 30% on 17 foot jumpshots.
Brewer was an actually great player before teams scouted him though. Like 10 wins shares in his second year. Great player at everything other than his abomination of a jumper.
Yeah that is BRU-TAL!
By diehard Go To PostThats what, $100 million between 4 players in 18-19? is that even doable?
It's already going to be $100 million in 17-18. Curry is going to get $40m a year, Durant $30m a year.
By Kuma Go To PostCeltics fan acting stupid. Saying father time catching up to Lebron
He was averaging 35 ppg in the playoffs but sure, maybe he got old on Saturday. I hear it can sneak up on you like that.

The veteran designation shit that they introduced? Or discounts. Shed some more dudes. Go into luxury.
By diehard Go To Postso how do they re-sign Durant?
Bird Rights.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostBird Rights.
But they don't have them, do they? I thought he just signed with them straight up.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostBut they don't have them, do they? I thought he just signed with them straight up.
We don't
According to our beat writer
“Uh yeah, I mean, obviously I’m thinking about the playoffs right now,” Durant said on the podcast. “Haven’t even thought about it that much. But I don’t plan on going anywhere else.”
Durant could seek the max of about $36M for 2017-2018, and would obviously deserve it, but the Warriors don’t have his Bird Rights, so they’d have to shed a lot of salary to create the cap space to fit such a salary, and that would include the renouncing of Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.
But if Durant is willing to take strictly a 20% raise from this season’s salary of $26.5M salary (which was his max last July) up to $31.8M, the Warriors would not have to fit him into cap space and then could use Bird Rights to re-sign Iguodala and Livingston above and beyond the cap.
I don’t believe any team should ever ask a superstar to take less than he could earn–and this would be more than a $4M sacrifice, which is not a small total–but if the player volunteers for it as a way to create more salary for his teammates…
And if Durant did another two-year deal with a one-year opt-out, he could go for a monster long-term deal after NEXT season…
Well, I asked Durant if he might do that.
“Like I said I haven’t thought about it, but obviously you want to keep this group together,” Durant said. “We want to see how far we can go with this thing.
“I’m sure once the season’s over with, we’ll figure that stuff out, everybody. I’m sure it’ll all work out for the best.”
Kevin, you don’t want to go through another Hamptons free agent summer?
‘”I’m not going through that again,” Durant said ruefully.
Earlier, he said this about his deliberations and decision to leave Oklahoma City for the Warriors: “I decided to just put my feelings and go with my gut first. It’s a decision I made, I’m obviously more than happy with.”
Someone is taking a discount somewhere. Our bench will have to come from our ass again.
i refuse to believe that the cavs din't lose this game on purpose, i just don't know what purpose it would have.
kd should take a little discount. he's already made like 130 mil and he'll end up making like 300 mil in his career on just NBA money alone.

I mean, I'm incredibly bitter and down on the sport as a whole (which is definitely driven by my general disgust at the team I've rooted for my entire life), but who cares? You don't have to watch anything before the Finals because the winners are basically predetermined. The era of super teams is awesome.

Two days after Stephen Curry was on the business end of a screen from Spurs’ center Dewyane Dedmon that he deemed ‘dirty,’ the Warriors point guard was seen limping with an ice pack on his left knee following the team’s shoot around Monday morning.
Get some rest, we can't have you disappearing like last year.
Nothing tear so he did not need surgery last summer. Just needed more rest so his body did not catch up to the grind.
