By Kidjr Go To PostPSY one of my fav posters tbh dude is hilarious.Yeah. They are. The question is if anyone can challenge cleveland sweepiing through the east.
But are GSW favs for this year?
still can't get over the kings drafting IT with the last pick in the fukin draft, having absolute busts all over the place and somehow letting the guy fucking walk--along with cousins

Amazing performance by Isaiah Thomas - dude can ball for days. Kings had isaiah, cousins and whiteside. damn

By diehard Go To PostWhat is your argument here? Had the Jazz had been in the East, going by their records vs conferences, they would have had the most wins in the conference and been the #1 seed.
(The Raptors were 1-5 against the West's top seeds, with the Jazz being 5-5
Cavs were 2-4
Celtics had the best record at 3-3)
So? If the Jazz face Toronto and Boston in a series they are losing.
It's not even like the guy was shit on his contract year either. You draft a guy with the last pick and his contract year is 20 and 6 on 45/35/85. Who the fuck lets that walk out the door?

By s y Go To Postand then phoenix lets him go too lmaoWe shouldnt have even signed him, but that trade was a stupid reactionary move from the dragic fiasco. The kings straight up wanted collison more. I dont think im mad at them for trading him its the return that is a joke at this point.
By Method Go To PostAmazing performance by Isaiah Thomas - dude can ball for days. Kings had isaiah, cousins and whiteside. damn.I'll give the Kings a pass on Whiteside because he failed in a bunch of places for several years before he caught on with the Heat.

Suns did it just 9 months later for Marcus Thornton and Cleveland's 2016 1st rounder, which they used to select... Skal Labissiere.
By Kuma Go To PostSo? If the Jazz face Toronto and Boston in a series they are losing.I would put money on the Jazz beating either in a 7 game series. The Jazz lost the season series to the Clippers as well. A playoff series is a whole different beast than a mid-season matchup. The Jazz were banged up more during the season than they are now.

Can you imagine if Blake Griffin had been injured that whole series? I bet the Jazz would have...
...wait.
If you can sign Durant, you have to. But I'll be honest, some of the excitement is gone. If we win this year it'll feel more like a relief than like we did something amazing.
Never going to be able to top the first I guess.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostCan you imagine if Blake Griffin had been injured that whole series? I bet the Jazz would have…Well, the Jazz did win with the series with Gobert missing a full game, 90% of another (where they just got free FTs on BS calls), and Hayward essentially missing a game with food poisoning. So yeah, you can give them Blake back if we can have our guys at full health.
…wait.
By domino Go To PostHayward's face after Draymond fouls him is both sad and funny. It's just one of those, "of course I can't get that call" expressions.
steph play too much.

By Wedward Go To PostIf you can sign Durant, you have to. But I'll be honest, some of the excitement is gone. If we win this year it'll feel more like a relief than like we did something amazing. It wouldn't be amazing if the Warriors win this year. It'll be like Bayern winning the Bundesliga.

By KingGondo Go To PostIt wouldn't be amazing if the Warriors win this year. It'll be like Bayern winning the Bundesliga.Barring injury, I can't see anybody stopping them. They're seriously pissed off about losing last year and Durant has almost zero pressure to carry the team at any point.
By domino Go To PostA wins a win however ill-gotten and stacked the team is. Enjoy it Wedward.A win isn't a win though.
My favorite Thunder season ever is still probably the 2010 year when we jumped from 23 to 50 wins and pushed the eventual champion Lakers to 6 in the first round. Should have gone to 7 too (box out, Serge!). No expectations, just pure fun without the pressure.
When you have a team that you know is capable of winning it all, anything less than that is inevitably a disappointment and each series win feels like relief instead of something you can enjoy. Even more so when you're a team like this year's Warriors.
Also, this whole "Blake Griffin is injured" thing rings hollow when the Jazz lost Gobert for half the series and he came back hobbled -- and Gobert is the better player. THERE I SAID IT.

Clips lost to the Jazz in Game 1 without Gobert and with their whole team healthy.
They lost to us in Game 4 without Hayward.
They lost to us in Game 7 with the refs giving 12 fouls to Favors and Gobert.
I don't know, man.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostClips lost to the Jazz in Game 1 without Gobert and with their whole team healthy.Clippers lost THREE of their FOUR home games in the series and the two games that the Clippers won in Utah was without Gobert or Hayward, so, ugh, yea. I don't buy that the Jazz had a superior edge the entire series. They were down literally 12 seconds into the first game.

I think Utah could* beat Boston in a series by feasting inside, I don't think they have the offensive fire power to beat Toronto.
*Thomas is a bad man so I could see the C's winning too

You're right guys, the Clippers losing their 21/8 guy had no impact on this series that went 7 games. I don't know why I would say something like that. The Jazz are the #2 team in the league.

FYI: Gobert played 6 more total minutes than Griffin did in the first round.
I don't know why you guys get so caught up with this east west stuff, I'm glad the east is trash cause it means the Knicks have less competition.
By reilo Go To PostSuns did it just 9 months later for Marcus Thornton and Cleveland's 2016 1st rounder, which they used to select… Skal Labissiere. That wasn't even the worst trade of that season either! Id argue trading the lakers pick for Bknight is worse. At least we used the cleveland pick to trade up for Chriss who has some potential.
That season was the definition of doing too much. An unexperienced GM fucking himself over with possible bad advice from Babby. He played hardball with Bledsoe all summer, signed IT as insurance, as a result fucked up chemistry with Dragic. Admittedly he got them to sign good contracts but it all blew up in his face due to chemistry issues and he panicked.
I am happy with the direction we are heading in now; the second half of the season last year was fun to watch

Also makes it harder for East teams to truly embrace tha tank

When you're competing against yourself annually, does it really matter?
Why does it matter? Because a ton of us here (majority?) are fans of a WC team. And you know what? That fucking sucks. The league (and my fandom) would be better off if the conferences were more balanced.
The other day I averaged out the number of wins a WCF team had over the last ten years: 55 wins. For the lower seed on average. (It's a 62-win average for the higher seed in the WCF).
Knowing that my team would need to be a 55-win-plus team to make it to the WCF? Not fun.
Knowing that my team would (most likely) need to be a 60-win-plus team to make it to the Finals? Fucking brutal.
So yea, fuck the East.

Giving up conditional laker picks got unconditional Miami ones.
At least knight was a warm body and starter even if it didn't work out.
By Kuma Go To PostSo? If the Jazz face Toronto and Boston in a series they are losing.By this logic, Boston would lose vs OKC. Yall lost your series to the Hawks, good thing you didn't match up against them.
Anyone dismissing the Clippers when they don't have Griffin:
Their win/loss percentage without Blake is better than Eastern Conference team that has been eliminated (plus the Wizards), so maybe don't bring that up without saying East top seeds are dropping games to .500 teams.

Of course. This is a talent & match up league.
Serious question...if they started calling the double dribbling on Thomas, how well could he adjust his style? Watching him play, it's pretty crazy what they let him do. It's not just him, but he seems to do it more than anybody. He practically does it every time he drives the ball.
