By Kuma Go To PostNot even. Dude getting switched on to Kemba and holding his ground. He is very savvy defender at such a young age. At the very least he will be a good team defender.because kemba clearly gives a fuck

Can only imagine the insane hype Monk would have had if the Knicks had drafted him
Was obvious from the moment he stepped foot on the floor at LSU

This dumb process joke is never, ever going away, is it.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostDear World Wide Wob and everybody else in the world: just shut up with the dumb, dead, beat-to-a-pulp non-jokes about the process. They haven't been witty or funny in like two years. Please, just fucking shut up.Sounds like you've been... processing that one for a while.
…sorry, I just needed to get that out of my system.
By reilo Go To PostSounds like you've been… processing that one for a while.
I deserved that.
I think I'm just tired and caffeine crashing so I edited the original post, but thanks for preserving it for posterity.
Seriously though, how many times can people hear that joke and find it entertaining? I tapped out after about 200.
It will only go away if Embiid (and, by extension, the Sixers) only become a middling success. If they stay bad or become great, it is all you will hear about that era.
By pilonv1 Go To PostHasn't Rodeo suffered enough today?
By s y Go To PostThibs can say whatever he wants, but I was the one born in the darkness, alright.
Knux and Rodeo must have been serial puppy kidnappers in their previous incarnations to warrant this.

This will be the best season in 14 years and they probably won't make the playoffs anyway because things like defense, spacing, and shooting matter, despite what the lead moron thinks. I could continue to spill all this angst about Glen Taylor and Thibs and Wiggins and ... everything that's basically happened since Flip passed away, but whatever. Nothing changes. Bad decisions get compounded by bad decisions. The cycle will continue.
By diehard Go To Postnah they have to make the playoffs this yearmaybe...
The Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the Finals. NY could've drafted Monk.

By diehard Go To Postnah they have to make the playoffs this yearI'd be shocked. I hate how this roster is constructed and I don't think it's going to mesh at all. Wiggins and Butler are redundant and neither is a knockdown shooter. (Also, one of them sucks.) The team defense is going to be abysmal. They were ranked 27th on that end last year and they have one dude on the entire roster that's a plus defender.
I don't see where the improvement comes from. They won 31 games. Jimmy Butler adds some wins. Jeff Teague doesn't. Taj Gibson doesn't. Jamal Crawford sure as hell doesn't.

KAT is going to be better plus Jimmy I don't think 40 to 41 wins is impossible but is that good enough for the 8th seed?

Isn't Dieng supposed to be above average on that end, too?

That's about it, though...
By Kibner Go To PostHey now, Gibson is also a plus defender! Isn't Dieng supposed to be above average on that end, too?Gibson's defensive metrics last year were pretty lousy. Maybe it was just a fluke year.
That's about it, though…
I've never been able to reconcile how much advanced stats love Dieng's defense and my eye test. He's slow to rotate, doesn't really provide resistance at the rim, is only a so-so rebounder, but he's always been a huge plus according to the stats. I don't know.
I don't see how the Wolves resemble a good defensive team with a lineup including two of the worst defenders in the league logging heavy minutes. (Plus, Jeff Teague is there, too.) How are they getting stops next year when Towns and Wiggins are out there for 35 minutes? Thibs can talk all he wants about how Gibson and Butler are savvy and tough and know the system, but other teams can just really easily attack the other three spots.
