Can they afford him? He'd probably be pretty good there.
They're offering him and Redick a starting salary between $11-$12 million.
So no, they can't afford him.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostPritchslapped.Himself? Yea
By Method Go To PostSteph deserves the supermax 100%Can he throw me a couple thousand or so?
By livefromkyoto Go To PostTIL there's an NBA player named Juancho Hernangomez.Dropped 27 on the Warriors too
By reilo Go To PostSo what the fuck is the Spurs long-term play here? Bring back the same squad minus Tony and Manu? Aldridge has one foot out of the door, are they expecting to get something of value in return for him that will make them more competitive?
I thought George Hill or Chris Paul was their play, but one is off the board and the other seemingly is, too.
I mean, as far as plan B goes, running it back with a 60+ win team is pretty dang good.
By reilo Go To PostI'm still pissedUntil we get specifics on what the Blazers offered that tweet doesn't have much basis.
By reilo Go To PostIt's the Spurs, I get that, but a large chunk of their core is old and injury prone.
Nothing lasts forever
in the cold November rain
By KingGondo Go To PostUntil we get specifics on what the Blazers offered that tweet doesn't have much basis.Yea because beating an offer of Oladipo and Sabonis takes a lot of imagination.
By reilo Go To PostYea because beating an offer of Oladipo and Sabonis takes a lot of imagination. Not unless CJ was included.
By pilonv1 Go To PostSo Crabbe, Aminu, Leonard and picks? That sounds about right I imagine.

Manu was a fringe rotation player last year and TP was hot and cold. As long as Pop and Kawhi are there you can pencil them in for 55 wins.
Can't compete with the Warriors sure, but this was always going to be the situation they'd be in if they struck out on CP3 I think.

By diehard Go To Postevery star trade seems to have a "X team had a better offer though.."Yea but this trade is so fucking awful that anything is almost immediately better.

All of that is true, but do you see the Spurs slipping past the 4 spot in the west tho? There were only so many players on the board that could've moved the needle for San Antonio. Paul George, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul. They struck out on all three. Shit happens.
Like, Jeff Teague got close to 20M a year, do you really think San Antonio was going to pay market value for 31 year old George Hill?
But Victor Oladipo has so much potential...
Rondo is like the least engaged player in the league unless it's the playoffs or a national TV game, him being on a terrible team has not worked out in the past.

Rondo assaulting Lavar Ball over a game of Connect 4 would be pretty fun though, even Laker fans have to admit that.

Just not a lot of cap flexibility. They've got around $23M of cap room if they literally renounced every cap hold they had (and this is before the mills contract). They'll probably vulture some cheapo deals for good, undervalued players at the end of free agency, but yeah, it's not ideal.
EDIT: Minnesota still needs to shed a contract or two, but the Wolves could conceivably start on opening night with Teague/Wiggins/Butler/Millsap/Towns.

McLemore too, this is better than anything I could imagine
Ladies and gentlemen, the Magic Johnson era.

PUKE
I'm glad the Pacers didn't want to wait but uhh... Indiana, I think Oladipo for George is still on the table in two weeks, dudes.
Boston missing out on Butler, George and Hayward within days when they easily could put together the best package for Butler+George that could have opened the door to Hayward.
Ainge is something else.
Blake Griffin has reached agreement on a five-year, $173 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources confirmed to ESPN on Friday.Didn't see that posted: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19778813/blake-griffin-re-sign-los-angeles-clippers
