By Dark PhaZe Go To Posti think the jazz have the assets to trade for ricky if they want him that bad
We do, but Hayward doesn't want him it seems :(
Utah needs spacing more than anything. They need a PG who can shoot, I don't think Rubio makes them better offensively.
By Doomsayer Go To PostUtah needs spacing more than anything. They need a PG who can shoot, I don't think Rubio makes them better offensively.
But.
1. Rubio is available and good.
2. Rubio has a 2 year, $29 million contract
3. George Hill will get more than $25m a year and Hill will not be good by two or three years from now.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postsurprised the pelicans aren't fighting tooth and nail to get a third starThey are trying but don't have many resources. They have all their picks, but that's about it. If they renounce Jrue, waive some people, and stretch Asik, they still only have like 20M in cap space. Jrue is an UFA so they can't really trade him. They don't really have any young tradeable players, either.
Not saying it's impossible to get a third star, but it would be extremely difficult.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostWe do, but Hayward doesn't want him it seems :(Hayward's smarter than I thought. I also have to give him props for being a proponent of BLM.
Edit: I would think Kyrie is essentially untouchable. He gels very well with LeBron, is young, and seems to keep getting better. If I'm Cleveland, I'd rather have him than any PG in the league barring Curry.
By KingGondo Go To PostFor more background on this, Jrue has said that he will meet with the Pels at the start of Free Agency. If they can't agree within 48 hours, he'll start meeting with other teams.
Basically a "don't low-ball me or I'm gonna go somewhere else" stance.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostWell, Rubio is good though. George Hill is also good… now, but Hill is going to be pretty bad in two years. What if I want Rubio in Minnesota and wouldn't do anything to help out the Jazz? Hayward leaving Utah makes it easier for my team moving forward.
rodeo, send me your essays on Rubio so I can forward them to Hayward.

fuck :(
But I want Hayward in Utah :(
By IWMTB19 Go To PostWe are desperately trying to trade for Ricky Rubio and his 2 year, $29 million contract and Hayward is like "no, you should sign Hill to a 4 year, $100 million contract."
Gordon, why are you doing this.
George Hill will not be a starting PG by the third and fourth years of that contract.
Hayward finally knows what playing with a PG feels like. Plus he probably fucks with Hill heavy.
Would very much appreciate Magic and Rob not gutting the team, let's get our 27 wins this season and see who is available next off season.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostHayward would not be trying to force Hill to Utah if he wasn't going to extend there should such a move be made.
It's shitty, but overpaid Hill + extended Hayward is better than losing Hayward.
Have to agree here. If the choice is between blowing it up now vs maybe seeing a decline in 3 years - and you just made the playoffs for the first time in a decade - you pay Hill and hope for the best.

But yeah i agree.

By diehard Go To Posti tried to tell you all year he wasn't staying
You're always super pessimistic though.
But right now I'm putting his chances of staying at 30%.
Please trade Rodney Hood if Hayward leaves, Utah :(
By Moris Go To PostPretty obvious pelinka and magic have been talking through back door channels.

By s y Go To PostWhats the biggest Jazz message board? RealGM?probably jazzfanz
Hayward has made no political statements ever in his career and his freaky child wife is extremely conservative.
Memes saying that Hayward supports BLM were spread by Jazz fans over the last week to troll Boston's perceived racism.

I can understand going for Blake, but Paul Milsap? In the beginning of a rebuild.. McD what is u doin
By diehard Go To Postalready with the insults, IWMTB is entering the 2nd stage of grief.
I have always said Hayward marrying a high schooler was creepy though!
I will be very happy if he stays.
But I will still troll him being Scott Pilgrim.
Hmm
I don't think I'm that upset right now, but I will stop posting about Hayward for a bit other than news. Just news, no reactions.
Maybe I am too upset and petty right now.

By reilo Go To Postthrow any available cap at Iggy, Pelinka!
By masud Go To PostThat was the early rumor, but I've seen him linked to Utah more recently.
Our local reporters say he's signing with Chicago really soon.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Posthe's going to be assNaw he'll be decent. Probably not a starter on a good team (defence) but he's a monster in Europe probably the best pro player not in the NBA, no way he's ass.
By Kabro Go To Postthrow any available cap at Iggy, Pelinka!
Who going to shoot the ball though
aw yeah Teodosic is coming. he was the one guy in international ball that i specifically remember thinking could definitely play in the NBA
By IWMTB19 Go To PostTheir plan according to Draftexpress was to do a two point guard lineup this year and have DSJ learn from JRue.Dafuq draftexpress know about the Mavs? They only have like 15 mil in cap anyways. From all sources seems Mavs aren't going for anyone unless they are cheap. They want to save money to pay Seth lol
By Fenderputty Go To PostNets should offer him that …he deserves it imo as well but these contracts are nuts. steph was making 11 mil a year for the past 4 years lol. he gonna make 34mil per starting next season tho

i thought it was more like 40 million a year
