By Fenderputty Go To PostHas our 2019 1st been rumored to be involved in the PG trade shit and if not, why?
IIRC you can't trade first round picks in consecutive years? Or something along the lines of that.
By Doomsayer Go To PostIIRC you can't trade first round picks in consecutive years? Or something along the lines of that.A bit more nuanced than that. You can't owe picks in two consecutive drafts is the rule.
This means that if 2018 is already owed to another team, then you can't trade the 2019 pick until the night of that draft.

Hmmm thanks for explaining. We owe 18' FRP and then we're in the clear
By Fenderputty Go To PostHmmm thanks for explaining. No problem. It's a minor but very important distinction and can get confusing along with all the other rules teams have to follow.

Thoughts a day later:
-Not that bad a trade. With or without him we weren't beating GS.
-We need to resign Griffin, make him the cornerstone
-Demote Doc from GM
-Hire Griffin/Young West as new GM
-Profit
... :/
I can't go back to basketball hell, I just can't.
Rodeo knows how that feels...

In all the mixed fuckery of the Knicks, CP3 & Doc, and NeoGAF, ya'll missed IT2 trolling Lance on Instagram about Paul George leaving Indiana.

Supposedly Isiah never left, Dolan had to demote him because of the sexual harassment case but he's always hung around as an advisor.

I'm not sure I like this "party so hard" Klay. If he isn't careful he's gonna be on Real True NBA Stories where hr parties and drinks himself out of the league.

I didn't know this.
The Lakers I'm pretty sure could trade their 2019 if they got an unprotected 2018 pick from someone else.
Like, Clarkson for Parker and the Spurs' 2018 pick would work I think and allow them to trade their own 2019 pick.

That would be a wild workaround.
Morey stocking up on unguaranteed deals for... something.
How did Houston trade their 2018 first round pick to the Clippers if they didn't have a pick this year?

By rvy Go To Postoh? It's not a secret, Thomas runs the Liberty ffs. Thats why the rumor makes no sense. If Dolan thought he could get away with bringing Thomas back he would have done it a long time ago.

iggy is really good, any team with cap space should be looking to pay him a high dollar (just not high years)

the dismantling has already begun.
It was a joke that no one took the wrong way except the media. They did work out together afterwards.

I dont think i've read a report where that 2019 pick was on the table.
also Chad Buchanan is the Pacers new GM?
isn't Kevin Pritchard the current GM?
I wonder if that changes any dynamics in current negotiations.
By diehard Go To PostReally, you said that?Trey Burke was a franchise point guard too.
Or was it Dante Exum? Whynotboth.gif

I'm kinda worried because the Pelinka/Magic plan for LA is the damn same as Jim/Mitch's plan. Which of course was the ridiculous: sign the best available free agent regardless of what the make-up of the current roster is.
Is the current roster any better than the one with old kobe? I mean, it certainly has more potential but free agents give fuck all about potential, especially those entering their prime.
Feel like Magic & Rob are being impatient and are far too optimistic about things they can't control.

Can't play for the tank next year. Might as well try. If they whiff in 2018 FA, we're back on the tank track and get to keep our pick.
Dont know if y'all heard Sam Amick on The Herd this morning.
What he basically said about this PG situation is that the Pacers aren't being realistic about their expectations in any trade scenarios.
Boston can easily trade for PG but Ainge is too stingy to trade his plethora of draft pics/assets.
PG is open to being traded to a championship contender, but if they dont chip, he's coming straight to the Lakers.
He's a huge Kobe fan and wants to follow in his footsteps.

wouldn't let it get to that point if I'm LA--once a guy gets comfortable, experiences winning, maybe gets a few more endorsement deals, finds out the city is good---fuck it I'll extend.
and I don't think the pacers are being unrealistic at all, this thing became an arms race the second paul put it out there that he'd be willing to extend with a certain few teams

Is Ricky Rubio the most disrespected decent player who wasn't an asshole ever?
Looks like Minny has like $14 million in cap space? Not sure what obligations they have for that already.
