By masud Go To PostNaw the chance that this was a Melo/CAA lead coup was there. It's impossible to know what's going on with the Knicks with the amount of irrational actors involved.
Why is this CAA thing a thing? I get that the initial promise was play ball and they'll deliver free agents, but that's never materialized. The team's been in the dumpster for years, why care what CAA says?

Someone in CAA has Dolan's ear too.

Hayward has narrowed things down to the Jazz, Celtics, and Heat and will probably make a decision by next week or so.
Celtics meeting: Saturday
Heat meeting: Saturday
Jazz meeting: Monday
I guess he'll decide by next Wednesday or Thursday.

According to this, it's more like 3 guys:
http://www.draftexpress.com/agents/agency/Creative-Artists-Agency-3/
And they represent 6 all stars total. Like, what is the point? "Do everything that we tell you and we can get you a sit-down with the Tony Snell."

Well run franchise in a tax-free warm weather party town?
I don't get how they're ever bad.

So the only real advantages over Utah are tax-free and not being in the western conference.
He probably assumes that they can, with a core of Dragic, Hayward, Westside; make a deep play off push in the East.
Not sold on that, but, what ever.
The worst kind of stupid is the kind that reads a lot of books. That kind of incompetent person ends up affecting your life. Their bad ideas are exceptionally well thought-out; assembled, over years and decades, from pieces of many other good ideas — like sharing and Buddhism and trout fishing and passing the ball and taking LSD on the beach. A range of viewpoints have been weighed in crafting this particular species of ineptitude. And after all that care and consideration, the result is that no one, and no result, no matter how disastrous, can dissuade this specific kind of stupid from doing the stupid thing it wants stupidly to do.
On Wednesday morning, Phil Jackson was fired.
The last year of Phil’s tenure has been dominated by various public statements, either from the Zen Master directly or his sock-puppet blogger Charley Rosen, unified by a simple theme: Melo, please leave.
Then Phil took aim at Kristaps Porzingis, one of the brightest young stars in the league. Upset at the Knicks’ slapdash organizational style, KP skipped his exit interview with Jackson and GM Steve Mills. This, reportedly, angered Jackson, who then set out to ply the trade market in search of a deal for New York’s best draft pick since Patrick Ewing. This is like drawing a 19 in blackjack and telling the dealer to hit. Phil’s reasoning is best explained in a post titled “The Pros and Cons of a Kristaps Porzingis Trade” written by his pal Rosen, who presumably can’t blog if Phil is drinking a glass of water:Just as Phil Jackson feared right after Porzingis was drafted, players that tall and that lanky are extremely susceptible to injuries. Indeed, he has missed 26 games in his first two seasons, the most potentially serious being an Achilles tendon strain last season. In 2016, Phil Jackson signed Joakim Noah’s 31-year-old mummified remains to a four-year, $72.6 million contract. Noah missed 36 games last season. He also traded for Derrick Rose, whose best Adidas commercial is about him getting injured. He routinely gets bullied at every turning. It’s almost like 21-year-olds need time to develop. Also, he’s a stretch 5. Fuck the triangle.
Despite his size, KP is relatively ineffective when playing the low post.
He’s apt to get faked off his feet by smaller players in the paint.

While many fans and media are celebrating the firing of Phil Jackson, it says here that, while he has certainly made many mistakes, he doesn’t deserve the universal condemnation he is now receiving.Rosen is such a shill lmao
One big reason for his dismissal was the furious bias against him on the part of the New York media. This has its roots in 1999, when he was between his stints in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Tyson Chandler (a no-offense, overrated defense and chronic malcontent)ahahahahahah
Dolan targeting Masai solely on the basis that "He's the guy who fleeced us" strikes me as very Dolan thinking.
Imagine if Prokhorov had come out last year and said "I want Danny Ainge to replace Billy King."

By giririsss Go To PostI still don't see how that stuff lines up. If he's leaving because of Doc, then either nobody involved with the Clippers asked him why he's leaving or they value Doc over CP3. I don't think either is that likely. With that said, I would rather get a fresh start with a lot of potential assets than be burdened with Melo. How would they even trade Austin for Melo anyway? I think it's more likely that Paul saw that the team likely wasn't going to win anything in the next 2-3 years, so his window was closing. I just don't get why he wanted to go to the Rockets and not the Spurs. Maybe the Spurs weren't as interested as the rumors had suggested.
I'm really, really glad we got Beverley, though. It's great to have a former Razorback on the team.

There was a trade involving Austin Reddick and junk for Melo. Would have basically stripped the team bare.
It was bad for numerous reasons. Good for very few.
CP3 is the dude that holds weird grudges though. He's famously hard to get a long with.
I think the Clippers were in a really bad / odd situation where they could have got to the second round for another 2 years. But other than internal player improvement, there was no real way to improve the team externally. Either through draft picks or trades. And after 2 years that window was closing as players aged.
And they were never going to be good enough to beat GSW. Not even close, with out adding pieces.
I don't think there's an easy rebuild mechanism for the Clippers either, other than trading CP3 / Blake.

this for real? where are you getting this from?
By giririsss Go To PostThere was a trade involving Austin Reddick and junk for Melo. Would have basically stripped the team bare.Yeah this was the right move I think. I heard that Reddick is leaving too, which is a big relief. If they could somehow ditch Blake and get something meaningful back then great, but the only team that I could see wanting him right now would be Boston and I don't think they would be willing to give up enough to get him unless they make other moves where they'd need to do a sign/trade for cap reasons. I think I'd rather let him walk than risk a max on a guy with a bad history of injuries. If they do manage to trade him, though, that would probably be the best case scenario where they have a lot of assets and a lot fewer cap issues.

By masud Go To PostYeah giri trading Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers for Carmelo would have been horrible for the Clips…CP3 is a injury prone point guard. Trading the only backups they had (Austin, how ever unlikely that it was), was playing well for them and leaving themselves with no depth what so ever when Melo and Blake have also been injury prone was a recipe for disaster.
On a "talent" basis it was good. But that was about the only one.
