By reilo Go To PostNo, oh god no, he doesn't. Your entire perspective on this is warped. If he's intent on moving Melo, work with him behind the scenes like every well established FO would. Playing it out in the media is childish and incompetency.
First off I'm not warped I'm a life long knicks fan that's honest. I admit their fuck ups. I got pissed when they traded for Rose, I preferred they keep Melo a few summers ago cause he was all they had and you don't let your best player walk for nothing (like we see Phil trying to not let happen now). I called Bargnani's trade bullshit and, called the Melo trade bullshit (before we met but I can show ya'll the post on a Knicks forum) . I am not a homer. Arguably the only time I've been wrong about the Knicks was I thought KP would be a scrub cause when do the Knicks get lucky. I mean my avi bet record alone regarding the Knicks prospects shows I have a good feel for this team. That's just this decade. We can go back and I still think the Ariza trade is the dumbest thing they've done (even more than Trading Nene)
So Phil sat down twice with Melo and it sounds like Melo doesn't want to go. So here we are. It's pretty clear Phil's pushed the issue cause he didn't like the answer, the NBPA is trying to get him fired (to the point I think they want Silver to intervene like Stern did with Zeke). Time is a Flat Circle
So the zero sum of all this coming up once again is what? Like the pieces are on the board. Melo can stay, but he's gonna be A-Rod status (the baby leak is putting him on that road and LaLa ain't helping) and the Knicks will just bench him and tank (Potential COY D'antoni did it to Starbury). Time is a Flat Circle
Also their the Knicks. Fuckery is to be expected. Also I'm a Yankees fan so I just look at them and Arod (who they wanted to ditch but was done) and them focusing on youth development (finally) and I see the beginning of the same things with the Knicks. Time is a flat circle.
Of course if Dolan was a better owner this wouldn't happen. He's not, but somehow Phil taking these bullets has convinced Dolan to let him do him a lot like he did with zeke. Time is a Flat circle
However, thanks to KP, Phil can actually do something right while he is here and try to build around a young star instead of playoff chase. I don't think any of this happens if not for KP. Keep in mind Phil was on a very much Flat Circle of Ewing, aka having a great player and never tanking enough to put guys around him but He had a zen wake up call. If Philtanks, with a young star on the roster. he would be doing something the Knicks haven't done literally since before I was born and Bernard King got injured and they got Ewing. Build around a young star. So I honestly don't give a fuck how Melo, or the NBPA feels. We might actually do the smart thing.
By giririsss Go To PostI don't think KP is in favor of tanking out right. And if you can't trade melo, you're not going to be bad enough to be a bottom 4 team.Im glad KP doesn't want to tank, id be skeptical of any player that did. But KP's opinion doesn't matter you do what's best for the franchise. In a few years when we have cap space and hopefully a decent core of young talent to build around we'll see if he wants to stay or not.the Knicks definitely have some work to do to repair that relationship though.
As far as Melo is concerned he definitely can be moved it's just a matter of whether or not Phil wants to deal with one of Melos preferred destinations. I hope Phil tries to get the best offer possible but ultimately takes what he can get he'd be stupid not to. Melo is for sure opting out and leaving after next season so either move him now or fuck up next year's pick then lose him for nothing.
Edit: oh shit Zeus just dropped a Trax verse...

KP is the sort of guy you try to build around. His oppinion matters. Not an absolute, and he needs to be involved. But any competent FO would have that talk with him.
Competent.
I don't think Melo opts out if he has another year like this year production wise. Which is the scariest part for the Knicks.

I want to build around KP, with this years lottery pick and hopefully next years better lottery pick and so on. That's our best shot at getting another impact player. I mean seriously whats the alternative to not 'tanking'? They over pay whatever free agent is dumb enough to hitch onto this train wreck? You really think the Knicks are gonna be able to cobble together though free agency a better team than Boston, Philly, Milwaukee ect in the coming years? Of course you talk to KP, you listen to his opinion, but if his opinion involves him, dad Melo, and a rag tag group of mercenaries fighting for the 8th seed you ignore it.
And I'm not talking about going full Hinkie here. No you play the youth you have and try to find more parts in the Dleague and Europe. And then in a few years between those guys and your good lottery picks you'll (hopefully) have a decent talent base like all those franchises that haven't traded every other draft pick for the last 16 years. Then you try to make a splash in free agency.

I detailed it on the previous page. Sign /trade for guys who are good, but not great, and are in bad situations. Brandon Knight is the first that came to mind.
In all those trades you refuse to give up picks. And only take on salary that will expire with Melo.
But those are the restrictions. Then you just keep drafting in that 6 - 12 range.
Because you're not going to be top 4 pick bad regardless, if Melo stays. So when you say "tank for an impact player". Tanking for that top 4 pick isn't really an option.
And don't get me wrong, i don't think you're even an 8seed. Or anything like that.

By Kabro Go To Postlol Magic doesn't know how to stfu. With Lonzo Ball.
we about to cash in on that CP3 cockblock lakerslaent!
By rvy Go To PostWith Lonzo Ball.
I swear the secret lottery is just a big PP presentation where teams make an argument of why they deserve to move up.
I bet they said they feel like they can pull a trade for PG. Them convincing Silver the Lakers could get PG is definitely "fix the lottery" worthy. They used their CP3 card when they got bumped up to top 2 in 2015
If the draft stays the way it is now its a 2 birds with one stone scenario.
PG on a dynasty franchise (so they can finally start winning again)
Ball relegated to a small market where his father can only make so much noise unless they start winning (they probably wont)
If Lonzo gets drafted by The Lakers and traded to Indy before he ever suits up, we might see him cry.

Lavar Ball reeks of one of those Silicon Valley stooges that are promoting an idea/brand but it's all a fraud and he's ready to cash out and never deliver on anything.
lol

Hope they eventually get around to redesigning the BBB logo. Looks weird on the show.
doesn't seem properly aligned.

Why'd they do this? Why is the back of the shoe not symmetrical? Why is the sole made from the same material as a foam roller? Why do they look like the Kobe 11s ran face first into the Kobe ADs and died? Why

Naw, it's not that simple Phaze lol. The cost to ship and manufacture (especially ship) is astounding. Nike and adidas can do it because they have the infrastructure. You can also bet places like Footlocker won't be stocking these as to not test their partnership with Nike. You'll also see IP infringement lawsuits coming down from both Nike and adidas against that shoe, I bet.
Oh, and that's all before you get to marketing -- and their PR has been awful on reveal.

In the social media age. marketing is a none issue especially for an outspoken (bamma) dude like Lavar.
