Warriors are chipping with little effort. Congrats Durant. HIs fake tears over finally getting over the hump are going to be so disgusting.
By blackace Go To PostI kinda want the Pels to win itThat world stink of a Silver move. Which reminds me I have a a few silver intervenes in the draft theories that I want on the books prior to the Draft day. Yes I know Odds are at least 1 theory will hold true..... and they contradict each other but shit draft conspiracy theories are for fun not for deep analysis.
#1 is Pels get a top 3 pick because that player should be good enough for that team to be legit good and help ensure the rise of 2 NBA superstars in Davis and Cousin who both are in dire need of playoff experience.
#2 is Kings get that top #3 pick as a thank you for letting Cousins go and join the Pel as well as making sure that franchise has someone to root for (aka the Cleveland lottery pick post Lebron). This is my least favorite theory cause I just don't think the Kings franchise has the leverage to pull it off.
#3 the Lakers keep their pick, because at the end of the day Silver would love the lakers to be be good again. Especially if Jeannie was the one running the show because he knows she is the most capable Buss child to lead the team.
#4 the Knicks move up in the top #3. This move was the bargain Silver made with Dolan to STFU and treat Oakley with respect after that HORRIBLE MSG incident. Dolan was legit giddy at the chance to make an ass of himself (and by extension the rest of the owners) in further mocking Oakley. So to make him shut up and act professional he offered him the only thing he could (a top 3 pick) and Jordan agreed as a representative of the other owners (who are all in on this).
#5 the Celtics pick moves down from #3. Because while he likes parity..... the idea of a Isiah Thomas led team having the potential to come out the East for the Finals next year due to a rookie is such a ratings nightmare Silver intervenes for the sake of the advertisers. Plus he needs the top #3 for other teams. Celtics are ok with this because they get a promise that next year's Nyet pick will be top 3 and Ainge plans to trade these new guys for George or Butler anyway.

So Silver fixes the draft so Davis and DMC can get playoff experience? Go on...
By giririsss Go To PostSo your top 3, which is impossible to happen is:The Kings theory is my dark horse theory. I actually have it
Pels, Lakers, Kings, and Knicks.
Lakers
Pels (Kings)
Knicks
Celtics
Suns
Based on a few narratives from the season.

Hey those are just my conspiracy theories. I'm not trying to justify them through a debate or analyst. I know they won't hold up. Think of it as the equivalent of NCAA bracket, I'm just hedging my bets cause if it does happens I can then say "called it"
I'm certain there is a more recent and slightly less jokey article about the same thing, but here ya go: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/5/21/4351136/nba-draft-lottery-2013-conspiracy-theories-kings-blazers
By IWMTB19 Go To PostLeBron playing so many minutes just so the Cavs get home court over the Raptors seems like a questionable idea…
I'm glad to see this :D
Poeltl's emerging competence gives me hope for the future.
But that pass is what I'm talking about with Wright - that was in garbage time, but he makes those all the time. I try not to go overboard with the guy because A) his non-advanced stats are pedestrian at best and B) he's about to turn 25, how much better can he really get?
But actually watching him, he makes impact plays every night, gets after people on D, and most always comes out with a positive +/-. And he's got size, athleticism, good court vision and seems pretty smart. I don't know how good he gets, but he could definitely grade out as a starter somewhere. A lot of fans think he's going to overtake Joseph next season.

If more colour guys spent the game talking about how they'd rather be off somewhere getting drunk, the league would be a much more entertaining place.

My takeaway there is wow @ the Pels. I kind of tuned out on them after the first few games when they were having trouble putting it together.

Sure, blame the legendary championship coach. Even Darko admits Darko's whole problem was Darko.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostMy takeaway there is wow @ the Pels. I kind of tuned out on them after the first few games when they were having trouble putting it together.Y'all remember how I said I wasn't worried about the first 10 games but the last 10? Yeah, things are getting better. Having another All-Star talent has also made the weaknesses in the rest of the roster glare even more.
Kind, but not really related, I was reading an article about Chieck Diallo this morning and had to laugh at this part:
One thing you will not see below is Diallo passing the ball. Like most humans with arms he possesses the fundamental ability to pass the ball, but at this point in his development it is an underutilized skill. In college he played 202 total minutes and amassed one single assist — ONE! Unfortunately, it hasn’t gotten much better in his rookie season as he only doled out 18 total assists in 724 minutes in the D-League. The silver lining to that mind boggling stat is 13 of those assists have come in February and March, so it would appear he’s now at least cognizant of the fact there are other players on the court with him.
My dream scenario is the Lakers ending up in 3rd and the Knicks moving into the top 3 bumping the Lakers to 4th. If that happens I'm only posting laughing gifs from then on out.

Pat will recruit much better than JT3 ever did.
Nobody should ever go to Maryland over Georgetown for many reasons and yet that kept happening for a good while.
BTW if the Raps draw Chicago and their evil blood magic in the first round then all bets are off. Just stating that now.

Thing is I dunno if his name alone is good enough for recruiting and I dunno if he thought that all thru. Its a daily grind for the most part recruiting players these days.... dealing with AAU coaches and weird dudes that aren't agents but basically are.

There comes a point where you got to admit to yourself..... That these bastards aren't going to give you a chance in a particular role. So then you have to make some compromises on the plan and see what happens.
Basically even though Ewing has paid dues he wasn't going to ever get a NBA HC job. Regardless if he could show that he deserved a chance and might be better than some other scrubs who have been given chances. For example look at Bill Laimbeer, dude has won multiple rings in the WNBA, was party of a dynasty in Detroit, and legit can coach and he can't even get a a NBA HC interview.
So with that said I am happy for Ewing I hope the turns that team around, and has success at the college level and who knows maybe if he does well enough there he'll get a NBA HC job
